Machine learning has the ability to dramatically improve sustainable systems by anticipating needs, maximizing resource use, raising output, and lowering waste. An overview of earlier studies on the incorporation of machine learning into sustainable systems is presented together with a case study of how machine learning was used to lower energy use in a residential structure. The results show that machine learning may be used to increase energy efficiency and save a lot of money. Wearable technology has added a whole new dimension to the already vast field of personal electronics. The mobile phone gave devices their true individuality. Because so many services are designed around mobile phones, the market has opened up for a brand-new personalized experience utilizing wearable technologies. Fabric sensors may now be combined with wearable microcontrollers like the flora and lily pad to monitor stretch, pressure, bend, and even the direction that the body is being braced. The connections between them are based on conductive threads that follow the curve of the fabric. We'll examine how different teams used their in-depth understanding of wearable technologies to accomplish their goals in this study. © 2023 IEEE.

The Study indicates the need for adequate cybersecurity safeguards in healthcare to protect patient data. The importance derives from the vulnerabilities of redundant systems, which are prone to cyber-attacks, highlighting the need for updated security standards. To strengthen the hospital’s IT infrastructure, the proposed system employs a complex technique that combines advanced encryption, strong authentication, and ongoing audits. The comprehensive technique consists of evaluating the security architecture, installing encryption, strengthening authentication, integrating intrusion detection systems, and using real-time monitoring tools. According to the results and analysis, the proposed system outperforms existing systems in terms of data security (90), cyberattack risk (85), and system integrity (90). Notable developments include 256-bit encryption, multifactor authentication, continuous vulnerability scans, and improved intrusion detection, demonstrating the proposed system’s effectiveness in dealing with cybersecurity challenges and ensuring the long-term stability of the healthcare IT infrastructure. The Study demonstrates the essential requirement for improved cybersecurity methods to provide an adequate healthcare IT infrastructure in the face of improving cyber threats.

Many data-driven patient risk stratification models have not been evaluated prospectively. We performed and compared the prospective and retrospective evaluations of 2 Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) risk-prediction models at 2 large academic health centers, and we discuss the models’ robustness to data-set shifts.

Deployment of teams of aerial robots could enable large-scale filming of dynamic groups of people (actors) in complex environments for applications in areas such as team sports and cinematography. Toward this end, methods for submodular maximization via sequential greedy planning can enable scalable optimization of camera views across teams of robots but face challenges with efficient coordination in cluttered environments. Obstacles can produce occlusions and increase chances of inter-robot collision which can violate requirements for near-optimality guarantees. To coordinate teams of aerial robots in filming groups of people in dense environments, a more general view-planning approach is required. We explore how collision and occlusion impact performance in filming applications through the development of a multi-robot multi-actor view planner with an occlusion-aware objective for filming groups of people and compare with a formation planner and a greedy planner that ignores inter-robot collisions. We evaluate our approach based on five test environments and complex multi-actor behaviors. Compared with a formation planner, our sequential planner generates 14% greater view reward for filming the actors in three scenarios and comparable performance to formation planning on two others. We also observe near identical view rewards for sequential planning both with and without inter-robot collision constraints which indicates that robots are able to avoid collisions without impairing performance in the perception task. Overall, we demonstrate effective coordination of teams of aerial robots in environments cluttered with obstacles that may cause collisions or occlusions and for filming groups that may split, merge, or spread apart. This paper evaluates the QoE of video and audio transmission over a full-duplex wireless LAN with interference traffic through a computer simulation and a subjective experiment. We employ a simulation environment with a pair of audiovisual transmission and reception terminals and a pair of interference traffic transmission and reception ones. We investigate the effect of the transmission rate of interference traffic and communication distance in a wireless channel on the output quality of the video and audio stream at the reception terminal. We perform a subjective experiment with the output timing of video and audio obtained by the simulation.

This paper investigates the effect of bitrate control methods on QoE of multi-view video and audio streaming with MPEG-DASH. We adopt three bitrate control methods for conventional single-view video streaming to the MVV-A system with MPEG-DASH. We conduct a subjective experiment changing available network bandwidth and investigate the effect of the methods on QoE.

Foreign Exchange market is the world's largest daily currency turnover. Two of the popular currencies Euro and Pound sterling traded against the US Dollar. Since the Russia and Ukraine war started in February 2022, their exchange rates decrease to the lowest rate ever. Even though the general trend is bearish, several daily candles increase for some days making challenges for forex analysts. To solve this problem, classification is applied. The data is labeled downward and upward. By utilizing Linear Kernel and Radial Basis Function (RBF) Kernel-based Support Vector Machines (SVM), the candle direction can be classified and optimized by tuning the Hyperparameters. The accuracy of candle direction classifications are highly improved. After tuning, in general, classification using Linear Models can outperform RBF Models. The best accuracy found on the Pound sterling against US Dollar by using the Linear model is 98.11% and the accuracy becomes 100% on data testing at a ratio of 70:30. Whilst for the Euro against the US Dollar, the best accuracy found the same for both Linear and RBF models on a ratio of 80:20 at 97.53%. However, on data testing, it decreases to 94.51% for Linear Model and 93.41% using RBF Model. The implication of this study is SVM can successfully classify candle direction on pairs in the Forex Market that are affected by a big event that comes for such a long period as long as the hyperparameter is tuned. © 2022 IEEE.

The advent of industrial robotics and autonomous systems endow human-robot collaboration in a massive scale. However, current industrial robots are restrained in co-working with human in close proximity due to inability of interpreting human agents' attention. Human attention study is non-trivial since it involves multiple aspects of the mind: perception, memory, problem solving, and consciousness. Human attention lapses are particularly problematic and potentially catastrophic in industrial workplace, from assembling electronics to oper-ating machines. Attention is indeed complex and cannot be easily measured with single-modality sensors. Eye state, head pose, posture, and manifold environment stimulus could all play a part in attention lapses. To this end, we propose a pipeline to annotate multimodal dataset of human attention tracking, including eye tracking, fixation detection, third-person surveil-lance camera, and sound. We produce a pilot dataset containing two fully annotated phone assembly sequences in a realistic manufacturing environment. We evaluate existing fatigue and drowsiness prediction methods for attention lapse detection. Experimental results show that human attention lapses in production scenarios are more subtle and imperceptible than well-studied fatigue and drowsiness. © 2023 IEEE.

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is an acute viral infectious disease caused by the dengue virus. Transmitted through the bite of Aedes Mosquitoes and divided into 4 severity. Severity 1 and 2 are characterized by a decrease in platelet levels below normal and there is a change in hemoconcentration, while Severity 3 and 4 are included in Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS). The purpose of the study was to classify the severity of dengue, based on age, gender, platelets, body temperature, bleeding, and also doctor's recommendation. The advancement of information technology is the reason for the development of medical science, especially with artificial intelligence. Abundant medical data becomes a source that can be processed in improving the quality of medical information. The method chosen is Random Forest, kNN, Decision Tree and Naïve Bayes. The dataset used is the medical records of all DHF patients for 30 months in the period Jan 2019 to June 2021, at the Nadhifa Al Ghiffari Clinic in Bojongsoang District, Bandung Regency. © 2022 IEEE.

Medication management poses significant challenges for many patients, particularly the elderlies, who often struggle with keeping track of their medication schedules and taking the correct dosages. To address this issue, this study aims to design an AI-integrated Medication Management and Assistive Unit (AMMAU) for elderlies with some important features like, schedule reminder, medicine recognition and count, early indication of shortage, sorted slots, and so on. Automated insulin-dose prediction and alert system makes the system unique and more demanding at these current scenarios. For this study, a suitable machine learning model is designed, analyzed, verified, and embedded in the proposed system so that the elderly diabetic patients can get alert, further compare with the current insulin-doses. Though, the proposed system is currently focusing on only the Basal insulin doses prediction, the system will definitely reduce the risks associated with wrong management of medication by degrading the chances of missed doses or taking wrong pills for elderlies at home.
