High-dimensional and incomplete(HDI) matrices are primarily generated in all kinds of big-data-related practical applications. A latent factor analysis(LFA) model is capable of conducting efficient representation learning to an HDI matrix,whose hyper-parameter adaptation can be implemented through a particle swarm optimizer(PSO) to meet scalable ***, conventional PSO is limited by its premature issues,which leads to the accuracy loss of a resultant LFA model. To address this thorny issue, this study merges the information of each particle's state migration into its evolution process following the principle of a generalized momentum method for improving its search ability, thereby building a state-migration particle swarm optimizer(SPSO), whose theoretical convergence is rigorously proved in this study. It is then incorporated into an LFA model for implementing efficient hyper-parameter adaptation without accuracy loss. Experiments on six HDI matrices indicate that an SPSO-incorporated LFA model outperforms state-of-the-art LFA models in terms of prediction accuracy for missing data of an HDI matrix with competitive computational ***, SPSO's use ensures efficient and reliable hyper-parameter adaptation in an LFA model, thus ensuring practicality and accurate representation learning for HDI matrices.

In blockchain networks, transactions can be transmitted through channels. The existing transmission methods depend on their routing information. If a node randomly chooses a channel to transmit a transaction, the transmission may be aborted due to insufficient funds(also called balance) or a low transmission rate. To increase the success rate and reduce transmission delay across all transactions, this work proposes a transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative game *** balance, channel states, and transmission probability are fully considered. This work then presents an optimized channel transaction transmission algorithm. First, channel balances are analyzed and suitable channels are selected if their balance is sufficient. Second, a Nash equilibrium point is found by using an iterative sub-gradient method and its related channels are then used to transmit transactions. The proposed method is compared with two state-of-the-art approaches: Silent Whispers and Speedy Murmurs. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves transmission success rate, reduces transmission delay,and effectively decreases transmission overhead in comparison with its two competitive peers.

Over the past years,many efforts have been accomplished to achieve fast and accurate meta-heuristic algorithms to optimize a variety of real-world *** study presents a new optimization method based on an unusual geological phenomenon in nature,named Geyser inspired Algorithm(GEA).The mathematical modeling of this geological phenomenon is carried out to have a better understanding of the optimization *** efficiency and accuracy of GEA are verified using statistical examination and convergence rate comparison on numerous CEC 2005,CEC 2014,CEC 2017,and real-parameter benchmark ***,GEA has been applied to several real-parameter engineering optimization problems to evaluate its *** addition,to demonstrate the applicability and robustness of GEA,a comprehensive investigation is performed for a fair comparison with other standard optimization *** results demonstrate that GEA is noticeably prosperous in reaching the optimal solutions with a high convergence rate in comparison with other well-known nature-inspired algorithms,including ABC,BBO,PSO,and *** that the source code of the GEA is publicly available at https://***/projects/gea.

This article presents a nonlinear dynamic inversion-based motion plan for a levitating robotic satellite emulation platform. The frictionless motion of such a levitating platform has dynamic equivalency with a satellite’s realistic movement in space, thus evolving as an efficient demonstration tool as a hardware-in-loop satellite motion simulator. A brief design description of the emulation platform unified with various sensor and actuator units is presented, and an associated nonlinear mathematical model representing its coupled dynamic motion is described. The proposed control design architecture manipulates the associated nonlinear dynamics, which appear due to the coupling of translational and rotational movement of the robotic platform, thereby establishing an efficient trajectory tracking capability for various operating regions without the additional requirement of gain scheduling. In order to realize the control requirement through a set of ON-OFF thruster-based actuation units, which closely resembles the reaction control system of realistic satellite design, an optimal thrust allocation logic is proposed that accounts for various physical limitations of thrusters such as thrusters as its magnitude constraint and minimum on time. The efficacy of the proposed modelling and control scheme is experimentally validated in different realistic motion planning scenarios, such as point-to-point manoeuvres with terminal objectives and a superior path-following capability. This paper introduces a novel, computationally efficient, random-search based path-planning algorithm specifically designed to enhance the dexterous accessibility of autonomous lunar rovers operating on highly cluttered obstacle-dense planetary surfaces. The proposed pathplanning framework employs a Quadtree-based cell decomposition to enhance the performance of sampling-based path-planning algorithms, specifically those in the category of Rapidlyexploring Random Trees (RRT) and its optimized variant, RRT*. In the process of generating the path through an occupancy grid map, the obstacle-free cells are utilized as discrete sampling points for the RRT* algorithm. A unique non-uniform sampling approach is employed to favour larger cells with a higher degree of safety, thereby enabling seamless navigation through the obstacle-dense map. Additionally, the non-uniform sampling approach enhances the overall computational efficiency of the framework, making it suitable for fast, lightweight onboard implementation. In this paper, we propose a sub-optimal approach for the multi-agent navigation problem in simply-connected workspaces. We design a decentralized control law exhibiting the following three properties: (1) navigation of each agent with the optimal policy towards its destination, (2) avoidance of collision with other nearby agents and the workspace boundary, and (3) knowledge about the current position and not the destination of nearby agents. Moreover, we refer to the sub-optimal approach because the computational complexity and time needed to calculate the global optimal solution become unrealistic as the number of agents increases. In our case, each agent has a predetermined optimal policy calculated by a novel off-policy iterative method, to go towards its destination and it deviates from it in order to avoid collisions. The purpose of the simulation study is to examine how much the sub-optimal greedy trajectory of each agent deviates from the optimal one. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper investigates the influence of a static robot head on deviations of human hand movements from task direction (motor interference) during simultaneous human and robot arm movements using a collaborative robot arm. Synchronous vertical and horizontal human and robot arm movements are conducted in all combinations (within-subjects factors direction and congruency). The presence of the head (head/ no head) is varied as a between-subjects factor. In this first step, only its motionless presence is deliberately focused at, in order to exclude contributions by eye- or head-movement behavior or facial expressions being difficult variables to generalize from. Participants' hands are tracked optically marker-based and deviations from task-related vertical, respectively, horizontal movements are evaluated. In contrast to expectations, results do not show a significant impact of the robot head on motor interference. Thus, there is evidence, that appearance might not be an activating factor for motor interference in HRI. © 2024 IEEE.

Transformer-based visual technologies have witnessed remarkable progress in recent years, and person re-identification (ReID) is one of the active research areas that adopts transformers to improve the performance. However, a major challenge of applying transformers to ReID is the high computational cost, which hinders the real-time deployment of such methods. To address this issue, this paper proposes two simple yet effective techniques to reduce the computation of transformers for ReID. The first technique is to eliminate the invalid patches that do not contain any person information, thereby reducing the number of tokens fed into the transformer. Considering that computational complexity is quadratic with respect to input tokens, the second technique partitions the image into multiple windows, applies separate transformers to each window, and merges class tokens from each window, which can reduce the complexity of the self-attention mechanism. By combining these two techniques, our proposed method reduces the SOTA baseline model by 12.2% FLOPs, while slightly improving the rank-1 accuracy and only sacrificing 1.1% mAP on DukeMTMC-ReID dataset. © 2023 IEEE.
