A linear flexible joint system using fractional order linear active disturbance rejection control is studied in this *** this control scheme,the performance against disturbances,uncertainties,and attenuation is *** active disturbance rejection control(LADRC)is mainly based on an extended state observer(ESO)technology.A fractional integral(FOI)action is combined with the LADRC technique which proposes a hybrid control scheme like *** this FOI action improves the robustness of the standard *** set-point tracking of the proposed FO-LADRC scheme is designed by Bode’s ideal transfer function(BITF)based robust closed-loop concept,an appropriate pole placement *** effectiveness of the proposed FO-LADRC scheme is illustrated through experimental results on the linear flexible joint system(LFJS).The results show the enhancement of the robustness with disturbance ***,a comparative analysis is presented with the results obtained using the integer-order LADRC and FO-LADRC scheme.

Domestic service robots have the promising potential of bringing significant services to the general population, and more importantly, successful applications of universal domestic service robots can potentially help mitigate critical societal issues such as senior care. In order to do so, domestic service robots need to integrate seamlessly into home environments. However, home environments are dynamic, complex and filled with personal items. Therefore, ambiguity can quickly arise for robots operating in such rich environments. In this paper, we propose an object ambiguity determination system that can determine the level of ambiguity in robot object selection tasks with fuzzy logic data integration. Additionally, we propose a functional human attention assessment system with fuzzy logic that enables the robot to determine user attention before committing to general disambiguation processes. Our preliminary results show that the proposed fuzzy logic inference systems can reliably estimate the robot object selection task ambiguity from object confidence level and the number of potential target objects that satisfy the user's command. Furthermore, fuzzy inference is applied to decide human eye gaze direction robustly. These subsystems can be utilized in the context of human-robot interaction to guide the robot when to seek feedback from a human partner in order to disambiguate reference in domestic service tasks. This paper presents a decoupled parameter estimation method for PMSM considering temperature rise and inverter distortion. Both electrical and mechanical models are explored to derive the estimation model to achieve better parameter estimation accuracy. Specifically, the proposed approach firstly performs the initial estimation of the PM flux, winding resistance and friction coefficient by considering the temperature effect, and then derives the decoupled model for inductance estimation using both the electrical and mechanical measurements. Compared with other approaches, our decoupled approach employs the mechanical model and considers the temperature effect, which can make the parameter identification more accurate. The experiment is performed on a test PMSM to verify the estimation performance of the proposed approach. © 2022 IEEE.

Protein-protein interactions are of great significance for human to understand the functional mechanisms of *** the rapid development of high-throughput genomic technologies,massive protein-protein interaction(PPI)data have been generated,making it very difficult to analyze them *** address this problem,this paper presents a distributed framework by reimplementing one of state-of-the-art algorithms,i.e.,CoFex,using *** do so,an in-depth analysis of its limitations is conducted from the perspectives of efficiency and memory consumption when applying it for large-scale PPI data analysis and *** solutions are then devised to overcome these *** particular,we adopt a novel tree-based data structure to reduce the heavy memory consumption caused by the huge sequence information of *** that,its procedure is modified by following the MapReduce framework to take the prediction task distributively.A series of extensive experiments have been conducted to evaluate the performance of our framework in terms of both efficiency and *** results well demonstrate that the proposed framework can considerably improve its computational efficiency by more than two orders of magnitude while retaining the same high accuracy.

In this paper, we present FEIF, a novel framework for 6D object pose estimation from a single RGBD image. Compared with previous approaches, this model fully leverages the complementary RGB and depth information through lay-erwise feature excitation and interactive fusion, thus improving the effectiveness and robustness of extracted features. The representative RGBD features can be subsequently applied for object keypoints prediction and pose computation. In addition, our FEIF includes a self-evaluation module to make robots aware of the confidence of pose estimation, so they are flexible to take the corresponding strategy for following tasks. Experiment results prove the SOTA performance of our model on LineMOD, Occlusion-LineMOD and YCB-Video datasets, and we also demonstrate its applicability and robustness in real-world robotic manipulation. © 2022 IEEE.

For service robots, person re-identification (ReID) and multi-pedestrian tracking (MPT) are vital to get a person's location and link identities across frames. Though their accuracy keeps improving, most work lacks consideration of the application scenario, haunted by limited space, constrained power supply, and demands of the real-time response during human-robot interaction. Some ReID models learn trivial or unrelated features, inhibiting the downstream tasks. To solve these issues, the efficient and light-weighted Head-Shoulder Mask aided ResNet (HSMR) is proposed. This model applies multi-task learning to enhance the feature extraction performance in the training stage without extra computational load during inference. The auxiliary task fully uses head-shoulder information to guide the network and focuses on the head region, which contains the identity information. In experiments on the Tour-Guide Robot Data Base (TGRDB), HSMR earned results better than ResNet-18 on the ReID task and was superior to the recent two-stream method on the MPT task. On the mobile hardware, inference reaches an average of 15.2 FPS, three times faster than the two-stream method. The code is released at https://***/ZhYLin99/HSMR. © 2022 IEEE.

Due to communication latency with remote ground sites, automatic recognition of Mars terrain is essential for the path-planning of rovers. Currently, most vision-based terrain classification require thousands of fine-grained training samples, while the undefined terrains on Mars are difficult to be classified or fine-grained labeled. Actually, most of the terrain categories can only be coarse-grained labeled due to several limitations, such as overlapped sub-regions, blurred borders, etc. To solve this problem, CACMT (Coarse-grained Annotation-based Classification for Mars Terrain) is proposed to generate the global fine-grained classification map from the local coarse-grained data. Specifically, the complete pipeline is decomposed into (i) annotation rules with unique design, (ii) hierarchical feature fusion network for predicting sub-features of terrain (iii) and a generator for outputting dense terrain categories of Mars. Finally, the results of actual data on Mars demonstrate that the terrain sub-features can be successfully recognized and a dense terrain classification map can be generated applying only coarse-grained labeled images. © 2022 IEEE.

Planning, managing, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) plants is becoming increasingly challenging as a result of their increasing implementation world-wide. Solar PV power generation estimations provide a source of knowledge and certainty, assisting system operators in day-to-day responsibilities. Digital twins (DTs) replicate physical entities within a virtual setting, providing a real-time platform to perform solar PV power generation estimations, further enhancing situational awareness and operational efficiency. In this paper, a DT is developed and implemented for Clemson University's 1 MW solar PV plant located in South Carolina, USA to perform solar PV power generation estimations. An ensemble of Elman recurrent neural networks (ERNNs) is utilized in the DT for solar PV power generation estimations, replicating PV plant behaviors and characteristics. The ERNN ensemble utilizes data collected at the PV plant site, i.e. generated power, solar irradiance and ambient temperature. The DT's performance is evaluated based on different weather conditions and ERNN ensemble's output selection methods. Typical results are presented to show the effectiveness of the neural network ensemble based DT for solar PV power generation estimations.
