To reap the promising benefits of massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, accurate channel state information (CSI) is required through channel estimation. However, due to the complicated wireless propagation environment and large-scale antenna arrays, precise channel estimation for massive MIMO systems is significantly challenging and costs an enormous training overhead. Considerable time-frequency resources are consumed to acquire sufficient accuracy of CSI, which thus severely degrades systems’ spectral and energy efficiencies. In this paper, we propose a dual-attention-based channel estimation network (DACEN) to realize accurate channel estimation via low-density pilots, by jointly learning the spatial-temporal domain features of massive MIMO channels with the temporal attention module and the spatial attention module. To further improve the estimation accuracy, we propose a parameter-instance transfer learning approach to transfer the channel knowledge learned from the high-density pilots pre-acquired during the training dataset collection period. Experimental results reveal that the proposed DACEN-based method achieves better channel estimation performance than the existing methods under various pilot-density settings and signal-to-noise ratios. Additionally, with the proposed parameter-instance transfer learning approach, the DACEN-based method achieves additional performance gain, thereby further demonstrating the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method. In this present work, we are implementing a novel hybrid method based on the coupling of RPIM in strong form and Finite Element Method (FEM). The basic idea is to ensure the coupling between the two methods through the collocation technique based on RPIM interpolation. This technique is used to evaluate the local equations of the problem at the interface between FEM and RPIM regions. We can avoid numerical integrations of a big part of nodes using the strong form of RPIM. Numerical studies show that this method gives reasonably accurate results consistent with the theory. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In the present work, we are interested to develop a meshless approach, based on the strong form MLS approximation with additional constraints, to solve the nonlinear elastic and elsto-plastic problems for regular and irregular distribution of points. We adopt a plastic behavior law based on the total deformation theory, which is very convenient when the physical nonlinearity is more important than the effect of irreversible process and the loading history. In plasticity, one encounters discontinuities of rigidity where the application of asymptotic developments seems difficult or impossible. To apply the Taylor series expansion, regularization methods have been adapted. The strong form MLS approximation allows us to avoid the inconvenient of the numerical integration, while the asymptotic developments help us to reduce the computation cost observed in the incremental law of plasticity and the iterative methods. For irregular points distribution, we can get an ill-posed least squares problems due to a singular moment matrix of MLS approximation. To avoid this difficulty, we propose a modified MLS approximation by introducing additional constraints which allows to increase the error functional used in the derivation of the shape functions. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) poses a significant global health challenge, and accurate inference methods are vital for early detection and intervention. However, the quality of prediction relies heavily on the availability of labeled data, which are often limited in medical applications. To cope with the challenge of limited labeled data, we are the first to propose an active learning (AL) approach that leverages a weighted ensemble of Gaussian processes to effectively infer CVD by strategically selecting the few most informative data points to label. Through experiments conducted on the SMARTool dataset, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the advocated approach, achieving superior performance in CVD inference compared to baseline methods. Our findings highlight the potential impact of the proposed AL framework in CVD diagnosis and treatment clinical cases, particularly in scenarios where labeled data are scarce, due to data confidentiality concerns or high sampling costs.

This paper summarizes the technical activities of a three-year-long IEEE Task Force (TF) on State Estimation (SE) for Integrated Energy systems (IES). It presents the formal definition and characteristics of IES, along with the comprehensive discussion on Electric Power systems (EPS) model, and static and dynamic models associated with heating and natural gas systems. The paper also identifies the barriers of SE for IES, such as estimation modeling, observability analysis, and measurement requirements, together with addressing multi-scale dynamics. An extensive comparative analysis between Integrated Energy systems-State Estimation (IES-SE) and more established Electric Power System-State Estimation (EPS-SE) is presented. The paper also provides future research needs and directions related to IES-SE. © 1969-2012 IEEE.

Hydrogen-electrical microgrids are increasingly assuming an important role on the pathway toward decarbonization of energy and transportation systems. This paper studies networked hydrogen-electrical microgrids planning (NHEMP), considering a critical but often-overlooked issue, i.e., the demand-inducing effect (DIE) associated with infrastructure development decisions. Specifically, higher refueling capacities will attract more refueling demand of hydrogen-powered vehicles (HVs). To capture such interactions between investment decisions and induced refueling demand, we introduce a decision-dependent uncertainty (DDU) set and build a trilevel stochastic-robust formulation. The upper-level determines optimal investment strategies for hydrogen-electrical microgrids, the lower-level optimizes the risk-aware operation schedules across a series of stochastic scenarios, and, for each scenario, the middle-level identifies the "worst" situation of refueling demand within an individual DDU set to ensure economic feasibility. Then, an adaptive and exact decomposition algorithm, based on Parametric Column-and-Constraint Generation (PC&CG), is customized and developed to address the computational challenge and to quantitatively analyze the impact of DIE. Case studies on an IEEE exemplary system validate the effectiveness of the proposed NHEMP model and the PC&CG algorithm. It is worth highlighting that DIE can make an important contribution to the economic benefits of NHEMP, yet its significance will gradually decrease when the main bottleneck transits to other system restrictions. One type of wheeled mobile robot widely used in public transportation and for carrying high payloads is the tractor-trailer wheeled robots (TTWRs). This study considers a differentially-driven tractor under pure rolling conditions, which is subject to nonholonomic constraints. Controlling a TTWR in both backward and forward motion is challenging due to inherent instability. To address this issue and achieve trajectory tracking control for these systems, this paper employs dynamic feedback linearization (DFL) to overcome the limitations of static feedback linearization (SFL). The system’s response will be examined under various trajectories and initial conditions for both forward and backward motion.

Tractor-trailer wheeled robots (TTWRs) have gained significant attention across various industries and control studies due to their complex dynamics and non-minimum phase behavior, which pose substantial control challenges. This study investigates the control of a differentially-driven tractor to follow a specified path under pure rolling conditions in both forward and backward motion. Notably, it has been established that using static feedback linearization (SFL) leads to instability during backward motion. In contrast, this research uses dynamic feedback linearization (DFL), also known as dynamic extension, for controlling the tractor-trailer system in both directions for the first time. Our findings demonstrate that the internal dynamics of the system remain stable in both forward and backward motions, enabling successful adherence to the desired path.

Text2Earth: Unlocking Text-driven Remote Sensing Image Generation with a Global-Scale Dataset and a Foundation Model

Recently, generative foundation models have significantly advanced large-scale text-driven natural image generation and have become a prominent research trend across various vertical domains. However, in the remote sensing field, there is still a lack of research on large-scale text-to-image (text2image) generation technology. Existing remote sensing image-text datasets are small in scale and confined to specific geographic areas and scene types. Besides, existing text2image methods have struggled to achieve global-scale, multi-resolution controllable, and unbounded image generation. To address these challenges, this paper presents two key contributions: the Git-10M dataset and the Text2Earth foundation model. Git-10M is a global-scale image-text dataset comprising 10.5 million image-text pairs, 5 times larger than the previous largest one. The dataset contains essential resolution information and covers a wide range of geographic scenes and contains essential geospatial metadata, significantly surpassing existing datasets in both size and diversity. Building on Git-10M, we propose Text2Earth, a 1.3 billion parameter generative foundation model based on the diffusion framework to model global-scale remote sensing scenes. Text2Earth integrates a resolution guidance mechanism, enabling users to specify image resolutions. A dynamic condition adaptation strategy is proposed for training and inference to improve image generation quality. Text2Earth not only excels in zero-shot text2image generation but also demonstrates robust generalization and flexibility across multiple tasks, including unbounded scene construction, image editing, and cross-modal image generation. This robust capability surpasses previous models restricted to the basic fixed size and limited scene types. On the previous text2image benchmark dataset, Text2Earth outperfoms previous models with a significant improvement of +26.23 FID and +20.95% Zero-shot Cls-OA metric. Leukemia is a kind of blood cancer that damages the cells in the blood and bone marrow of the human *** produces cancerous blood cells that disturb the human’s immune system and significantly affect bone marrow’s production ability to effectively create different types of blood cells like red blood cells(RBCs)and white blood cells(WBC),and *** can be diagnosed manually by taking a complete blood count test of the patient’s blood,from which medical professionals can investigate the signs of leukemia ***,two other methods,microscopic inspection of blood smears and bone marrow aspiration,are also utilized while examining the patient for ***,all these methods are labor-intensive,slow,inaccurate,and require a lot of human experience and *** authors have proposed automated detection systems for leukemia diagnosis to overcome these *** have deployed digital image processing and machine learning algorithms to classify the cells into normal and blast ***,these systems are more efficient,reliable,and fast than previous manual diagnosing ***,more work is required to classify leukemia-affected cells due to the complex characteristics of blood images and leukemia cells having much intra-class variability and inter-class *** this paper,we have proposed a robust automated system to diagnose leukemia and its *** have classified ALL into its sub-types based on FAB classification,i.e.,L1,L2,and L3 types with better *** have achieved 96.06%accuracy for subtypes classification,which is better when compared with the state-of-the-art methodologies.
