The chemistry and localized structure of materials greatly affect their efficiency in gas evolution reactions leading to cell resistance loses. This work focuses on the role of morphological changes in the nature of the bubble distribution by a comparison of two different surface structures: polished Ni and various porous Ni surfaces fabricated by dynamic hydrogen bubble templating. This study introduces a refined method for counting bubbles in gas evolution reactions, focusing on high-density, overlapping bubble flows. By incorporating the Segment Anything Model (SAM), we significantly reduced the training cost of the You Only Look Once algorithm, maintaining accuracy while improving efficiency. Surface characteristics strongly influenced the bubble distribution, with superaerophobic surfaces exhibiting smaller Sauter Mean Diameter (D32) values than polished ones. A polynomial extrapolation indicated that D32s were roughly one third of the thickness of the bubble layer at higher current densities. Building on the established connection between bubble layer thickness and diffusion resistance through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), this study establishes a direct relationship between D32 and diffusion resistance. We have also demonstrated that the characteristics of the bubble layer are independent of the electrochemical surface area (ECSA) beneath the surface. This combined approach uses EIS for broader current coverage and imaging for real-time data, providing a powerful framework for bubble management and performance monitoring in gas evolution applications. © 2025, The Authors. Transcriptome prediction from genetic variation data is an important task in the privacy-preserving and biometrics field, which can better protect genomic data and achieve biometric recognition through transcriptome. Many transcriptome prediction methods have achieved good accuracy from genetic variation data. However, these traditional transcriptome prediction methods have the problems of linear assumption, overfitting, expose personal privacy, and extensive manual optimization. To solve these shortcomings, we propose an attention-based transcriptome prediction model from genetic variation named RATPM that improves the accuracy of transcriptome prediction and protects participant genomic data. In RATPM, we introduce and improve the deep learning model with multi-head self-attention into the transcriptome prediction stage of Predixcan, which uncovers the non-linear relationship between genetic variation and transcriptome. Moreover, we introduce a residual attention module to generate attention-aware features and extract more accurate features at different levels from genetic variation. Furthermore, we introduce the BERT pre-training module to encode genetic variation fully utilizing their contextual information. Our research enables scientific institutions to publish only predicted transcriptomic data for biometric purposes, thus protecting the genomic information of the subjects. Finally, we evaluated our model on the 1000 Genomes and Geuvadis projects datasets to compare with other baseline models.

The monophasic variant of Salmonella enteritidis Typhimurium with the antigenic formula 1,4,[5],12:i:- is one of the most common pathogenic bacteria causing global food-borne outbreaks. However, the research on molecular characteristics and evolution of monophasic S. Typhimurium in China is still lacking. In the current study, 59 monophasic S. Typhimurium strains were isolated from food animals and food products in South China between 2011 and 2018. A total of 87.5% of monophasic S. Typhimurium isolates were grouped into one independent clade with other monophasic S. Typhimurium strains in China distinct from other countries by phylogenomic analysis. These isolates possess variable genotypes, including multiple ARGs on plasmid IncHI2, variable evolutions at the ﬂjAB locus, and virulence factors. Our results suggest that the monophasic S. Typhimurium isolates currently circulating in China might be an independent epidemic subtype. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The goal of this paper is to study a mathematical model of a nonlinear static frictional contact problem in elasticity with the mixed boundary conditions described by a combination of the Signorini unilateral frictionless contact condition,and nonmonotone multivalued contact,and friction laws of subdifferential ***,under suitable assumptions,we deliver the weak formulation of the contact model,which is an elliptic system with Lagrange multipliers,and which consists of a hemivariational inequality and a variational ***,we prove the solvability of the contact ***,employing the notion of H-convergence of nonlinear elasticity tensors,we provide a result on the convergence of solutions under perturbations which appear in the elasticity operator,body forces,and surface tractions.

The concept of Digital Earth(DE)was formalized by Al Gore in *** that time the technologies needed for its implementation were in an embryonic stage and the concept was quite *** then digital technologies have progressed significantly and their speed and pervasiveness have generated and are still causing the digital transformation of our *** creates new opportunities and challenges for the realization of DE.‘What is DE today?’,‘What could DE be in the future?’,and‘What is needed to make DE a reality?’.To answer these questions it is necessary to examine DE considering all the technological,scientific,social,and economic aspects,but also bearing in mind the principles that inspired its *** understanding the lessons learned from the past,it becomes possible to identify the remaining scientific and technological challenges,and the actions needed to achieve the ultimate goal of a‘Digital Earth for all’.This article reviews the evolution of the DE vision and its multiple definitions,illustrates what has been achieved so far,explains the impact of digital transformation,illustrates the new vision,and concludes with possible future scenarios and recommended actions to facilitate full DE implementation.

The social network-based recommendation model use social network information to mitigate data sparsity issues and improve the accuracy of recommendation models. However, In most social network-based recommendation algorithms, the social neighbors' contributions are difficult to distinguish from the central user's, neglecting hidden correlations in social infor-mation. In order to solve this problem, this paper presents a graph-based contrastive learning framework for social-enhanced recommendation (SoGCLR) that utilizes implicit social information captured by a new social relation attention mechanism, en-rich user representations, and improve model robustness through graph-based contrastive learning. Specifically, the paper captures the degree of contribution of each neighbor in the social graph to the central user through a social relation attention layer, thus obtaining hidden correlations in social information, and further integrates this with user information in the user-item interaction graph to enrich user representations. In addition, the paper incorporates graph-based contrastive learning into the recommendation task using cross-layer contrastive learning, calculating contrastive loss and mapping nodes with similar but different exposure rates to nearby regions to mitigate exposure bias issues. Results from Ciao and Epinions demonstrate that SoGCLR reduces RMSE and MAE by 1.33% to 1.84% compared with baseline models.

With the rise in societal pressures, depression and anxiety have increasingly become prominent mental health conditions impacting people’s lives. To enhance the efficacy of automatic detection for these disorders, we have developed an experimental framework called the Voluntary Facial Expression Mimicry(VFEM). This framework led to the creation of the VFEM dataset, which supports related research endeavors. Subsequently, we introduce the LI-FPN designed specifically for the automatic identification of depression and anxiety disorders. The LI-FPN comprises two core components: the Learning and Imitation Module(LIM) and the Spatio-temporal Feature Pyramid Network(STFPN). Within the LIM, we leverage sequence features to facilitate comprehensive feature extraction through learning and imitation steps. The STFPN is designed to focus on outliers in multi-scale features for further screening. Compared with traditional attention methods, LI-FPN is more suitable for processing sequence data features and small sample datasets. Upon training using the VFEM dataset, the LI-FPN achieves impressive accuracies: 0.850 for depression detection, 0.835 for anxiety detection, and 0.786 for co-occurrence detection of depression and anxiety. Meanwhile, LI-FPN also achieves SOAT results on AVEC2014 dataset. The source code for LI-FPN is accessible at https://***/muzixingyun/LI-FPN

Group recommendation involves comprehensively considering various aspects, including members and items, to predict the overall interests of a group and recommend suitable items through a recommendation system. With the rapid evolution of the Internet, online group activities have become increasingly prevalent, making group recommendation a highly discussed topic within the realm of recommendation systems. However, current research in group recommendation still confronts the following challenges. Firstly, a predominant portion of group recommendation research focuses solely on aggregating group-level information, neglecting the valuable contribution of higher-order member-level insights to group recommendation. Moreover, some aggregation strategies overly prioritize fairness, thereby disregarding common real-world patterns. Secondly, previous studies have primarily relied on aggregating individual member interests to establish group preferences, lacking a holistic consideration of group dynamics. To tackle these challenges, this study introduces an innovative approach by implementing multi-channel hypergraph convolution within the member perspective. This approach aims to effectively extract higher-order insights from members by utilizing a member information enhancement module. By establishing group interconnections based on similarity and employing an adaptive fusion network to amalgamate multiple viewpoints, a final representation is derived. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed model surpasses baseline models by 3% to 4% in terms of hit rate and accuracy, validating the efficacy of our approach.

Cadmium (Cd), a pervasive environmental toxicant, poses significant threats to human and animal health through multi-organ toxicity. While ferroptosis has been implicated in Cd-induced pathologies, the molecular mechanisms underlying Cd-mediated nephrotoxicity remain poorly understood. This study elucidates the ferroptosis pathway in CdCl2-exposed PK-15 cells and murine kidney, characterized by iron overload, lipid peroxidation, and mitochondrial dysfunction, which were ameliorated by ferroptosis inhibitor ferrostatin-1. Transcriptomic analysis revealed substantial upregulation of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) following CdCl2 exposure. Mechanistically, CdCl2 triggered nuclear translocation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor-2 (NRF2), subsequently activating Ho-1 transcription. Over-activated HO-1 catalyzes the decomposition of heme and releases free iron, accompanied with the degradation of ferritin heavy chain 1 (FTH1) induced by CdCl2 exposure, which leads to intracellular iron overload and excessive lipid peroxides production through Fenton reaction, resulting in ferroptosis ultimately. In vivo validation confirmed NRF2/HO-1-mediated ferroptosis in CdCl2-induced murine nephrotoxicity. Both pre-treatment with HO-1 competitive inhibitor Zinc protoporphyrin IX (ZnPP) and knockout of Ho-1 gene remarkably alleviated PK-15 cells against ferroptosis induced by CdCl2 treatment. Our findings demonstrate that Cd exposure initiates NRF2-mediated HO-1 overexpression, driving iron-dependent lipid peroxidation and subsequent ferroptosis. This mechanistic insight provides potential therapeutic targets for mitigating Cd-induced renal damage, advancing our understanding of heavy metal toxicity and its cellular consequences. © 2025, The Authors. Existing monocular visual SLAM solutions are mostly achieved by adding various sensors to improve the accuracy of monocular cameras, which is not the best performance of monocular cameras and is not friendly to existing hardware devices. This paper proposes a visual SLAM system based on ORB-SLAM3, which aims to maximize monocular resources. On the basis of monocular cameras, depth map prediction network is added to simulate depth cameras. Feature points are extracted using CNN and ORB fusion method, and feature filtering is carried out combining with depth maps. In order to improve the pose prediction accuracy of monocular camera in driving scenes and avoid the interference of dynamic objects to SLAM system, an image instance segmentation network is introduced in this paper.
