The subject of this paper seems to be important due to the everincreasing interest in architectural traditions of Russia’s regions. The goal of the study is to reveal features of the architecture of Orthodox churches of the 18th century in the Middle Volga region. The key approach I chose for this study was historical architectural analysis and integration of data from archives and field surveys. Descriptions and analyses of the region’s lesser-known little known specimen of religious architecture are introduced for the scientific use based on the author’s own in situ investigations. The article attempts to analyze a wide range of issues related to the formation of the architecture of rural Orthodox churches in the Middle Volga region in the 18th century. The layout, composition and stylistic features of the architecture of the Orthodox churches of the region are considered. The features of the regional cult architecture of the Middle Volga region have been revealed. Many archival materials from Russia’s central and regional repositories are considered and published at for the first time. The presented study results the can be used as a basis for further research in the field of religious architecture of the Middle Volga. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2021.

The article analyzes the tourist potential of the cult architectural heritage of the Middle Volga region for agrotourism. The urgency of the problem under investigation is determined by the ever-increasing interest in architectural traditions of ethnical and sub-ethnical communities in various Russia's regions, including the Cossacks. The methodology of the study is based on a comprehensive architectural historical analysis of the layouts and design of churches in Cossack settlements in the region. The author analyzes a wide range of issues related to the architectural layout, composition and character of churches in Cossack settlements in the 16th-20th centuries. The paper reveals an interesting stratum of regional heritage. It contains a description and analysis of little-known architectural monuments based on the author's field surveys of the remaining settlements. The work includes examination of comprehensive archival data from local and central archives, as well as rich graphical material. The findings in this paper can provide a framework to further research in the area of architecture culture of the Cossacks in the Mid Volga regions. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2020.

High-quality maintenance extends the service life of costly pass-through collectors. Maintenance of a collector requires its inspection and diagnostics, it is repaired if necessary. Thorough collector maintenance is possible only after its drainage. The most frequently used method of a collector drainage consists in its overlapping with plugs with further pumping of sewage via temporary branches, bypassing drainage rehabilitating sections. This method involves considerable technical and material difficulties and can be used mainly for drainage networks with diameter up to 400 mm. It also requires electrical energy to connect pumping units. This paper describes alternative methods of gravity sewage network drainage for the purposes of its inspection and repair, which provide high-quality maintenance of gravity sewer networks. These methods extend the network service life, as well as minimize the costs of diagnosis and repair works. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. All rights reserved.

The paper focuses on the possibility of wastewater treatment which is produced when printing cylinders of linoleum production are being wash out with coagulants. Literature review shows that coagulation is the most appropriate method for the treatment of wastewater contaminated with acrylic paint. Studies on wastewater coagulation with iron chloride, iron sulfate and aluminium sulfate made it possible to determine the optimal dose of coagulant for purifying wastewater from acrylic paint. The conducted research made it possible to design a technological scheme of wastewater treatment from washing out of printing cylinders of linoleum production, and also to offer recommendations on purified water disposal. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. The paper presents research results of heavy metals ions removal from a model multicomponent solution applying a new sorbent obtained on the basis of modified clay and peat of the samara region. The modification was carried out in a thermal way. The researchers study the new material properties in the range of low concentrations typical for the biologically treated sewage water and wastewater of industrial enterprises. The paper also presents kinetic curves and sorption isotherms for five ions of heavy metals - copper, zinc, manganese, iron and lead. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. All rights reserved.

Nowadays a concept of a beam with a corrugated wall in construction mechanics does not exist. Such designs do and they are used in construction. Definition of the intense deformed condition of a beam with a corrugated wall is a relevant task. In this article the task of tension distribution nature assessment in the cross section of a beam in a corrugation height variation was discussed. The task was solved in the course of the numerical experiments with application of the finite element method (FEM). The problem was solved for beams with different shapes of the lines forming a corrugation. It was established that the geometrical form of a corrugation practically didn't influence the nature of tension distribution on a beam section and tension distribution on the cross section of beams with a corrugated wall depends generally on the corrugation height relation to its width. © 2018 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The article is devoted to analysis of tendencies and advanced technologies in the field of energy supply and energy efficiency of tall buildings, to the history of the emergence of the concept of efficiency and its current interpretation. Also the article show the difference of evaluation criteria of the leading rating systems LEED and BREEAM. Authors reviewed the latest technologies applied in the construction of energy efficient buildings. Methodological approach to the design of tall buildings taking into account energy efficiency needs to include the primary energy saving;to seek the possibility of production and accumulation of alternative electric energy by converting energy from the sun and wind with the help of special technical devices;the application of regenerative technologies. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2018.

The article deals with an actual problem of finding techniques and methods to create a comfortable urban environment. The authors emphasize that in the existing conditions of intensive urban development greater attention should be given to spatial concentration based on and more compact distribution of population in urban space. It is stressed that including mixed-use facilities into urban realm results in a significant improvement of living environment qualitative characteristics. The paper also examines modern approaches to constructing a compact city for comfortable and convenient living with a mixed-use tall building development. The authors explore the world's experience of designing tall mixed-use buildings and reveal modern trends in their construction. The statistics given is based on the data analysis of a group of tall mixed-use buildings consisting of more than 400 objects, constructed in 2007-2016. The research shows functional and architectural peculiarities of this typology of tall buildings and investigates a mechanism of creating zones of mixed-use tall building development in the urban structure. In conclusion, the authors consider prospects of development and major directions of improvement of mixed-use tall building parameters for a reasonable territorial urban growth and creation of high-density and comfortable building development. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2018.
