This article studies the distributed estimation problem of a multi-agent system with bounded absolute and relative range measurements. Parts of the agents are with high-accuracy absolute measurements, which are considered as anchors;the other agents utilize low-accuracy absolute and relative range measurements, each derives an uncertain range that contains its true state in a distributed manner. Different from previous studies, we design a distributed algorithm to handle the range measurements based on extended constrained zonotopes, which has low computational complexity and high precision. With our proposed algorithm, agents can derive their uncertain range sequentially along the chain topology, such that agents with low-accuracy sensors can benefit from the high-accuracy absolute measurements of anchors and improve the estimation performance. Simulation results corroborate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm and verify our method can significantly improve the estimation accuracy. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. Reinforcement learning (RL) has been widely used in decision-making and control tasks, but the risk is very high for the agent in the training process due to the requirements of interaction with the environment, which seriously limits its industrial applications such as autonomous driving systems. Safe RL methods are developed to handle this issue by constraining the expected safety violation costs as a training objective, but the occurring probability of an unsafe state is still high, which is unacceptable in autonomous driving tasks. Moreover, these methods are difficult to achieve a balance between the cost and return expectations, which leads to learning performance degradation for the algorithms. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm based on the long and short-term constraints (LSTC) for safe RL. The short-term constraint aims to enhance the shortterm state safety that the vehicle explores, while the long-term constraint enhances the overall safety of the vehicle throughout the decision-making process, both of which are jointly used to enhance the vehicle safety in the training process. In addition, we develop a safe RL method with dual-constraint optimization based on the Lagrange multiplier to optimize the training process for end-to-end autonomous driving. Comprehensive experiments were conducted on the MetaDrive simulator. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves higher safety in continuous state and action tasks, and exhibits higher exploration performance in long-distance decision-making tasks compared with state-of-the-art methods. With the development of continuous fiber-reinforced composites (CFRCs) 3D printing technology, timely, efficient and accurate detection of fiber path defects is essential for ensuring product quality and performance. However, challenges still need to be addressed in this field, such as inadequate training data coverage and the complexity of fiber path structures. These factors hinder the capability of traditional methods to accurately assess the status of printed products. Therefore, developing accurate and robust fiber path defect detection techniques is crucial for CFRCs 3D printing technology. In this paper, we propose a precise detection method for fiber path defects in CFRCs 3D printing using the YOLOv7 object detection model combined with a Squeeze-and-Excitation (SE) attention mechanism. By introducing the SE attention mechanism, we enhance the perception capability of the YOLOv7 model for crucial features, thereby improving the accuracy of fiber path defect detection. The experimental results show that the YOLOv7 model, when augmented with an attention mechanism, achieves an average accuracy of 93.9% in identifying fiber path defects during the printing process. Compared to models without this attention mechanism, the results show that there is 10.7% increase, with a notably enhanced learning capacity during the training phase, which substantiates the efficacy and practicality of the proposed approach.

In this study, unmanned ships test platform based on the parallel systems framework is proposed to improve the test efficiency and accuracy of unmanned ships in complex ocean environment. The parallel intelligence theory and ACP approach, the efficient interaction between virtual and real environment is achieved, which provides more comprehensive and accurate data for unmanned ships testing. Future research will further expand the scope of virtual environment simulation and improve systems accuracy and response speed to a wider range of unmanned ships test requirements.

Adversarial images are commonly viewed negatively for neural network training. Here we present an opposite perspective: adversarial images can be used to investigate the problem of classifying adversarial images themselves. To this end, we propose a novel framework termed as Deep Negative Correlation Meta-Learning. In particular, we present a deep relation network to capture and memorize the relation among different samples. We further formulate a deep negative correlation learning, and design a novel meta-learning-based classifier to prevent overfitting and learn discriminative features. The final classification is derived from our relation network by learning to compare the features of samples. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach achieves significantly higher performance compared with other state-of-the-arts. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Cyber-physical social systems (CPSS) include cyberspace, physical space, and social space. Since the introduction of CPSS, human relationships with machinery and the physical world have altered as a new paradigm. Recent estimates indicate that approximately 60 percent of the world's population will live in cities by 2030. Large, dense cities can be highly productive, innovative, and very green per capita, hence ideal for our future. However, the huge influx of new people poses enormous challenges to their administrations. Smart cities are becoming a reality, therefore, to achieve higher efficiency, optimum use of resources, management and to strengthen several features of modern towns, several elements of modern cities are automated and integrated into Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Cities and infrastructure are growing all over the world, in providing end-users with increased performance, comfort, visibility and convenience, the Smart Cities concept is critical. This paper will discuss smart cities and the CPSS concept intensively with some of its key technologies, challenges, and further development by using CPSS. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper proposes a hand position tracking algorithm based on optimized consistent extended Kalman filter (CEKF). By introducing the previous work of the authors and analyzing the parameter of the original CEKF algorithm, the key parameter that is negatively correlated with the degree of the estimation of uncertain dynamics is determined. Then, two metaheuristic methods, the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) are used to optimize the original CEKF algorithm. To quantify the performance of the algorithms, the root-mean-square error (RMSE) is employed as the performance index. Finally, the numerical simulation and practical experiment of the hand position tracking are carried out, and the optimized algorithm achieves 9.52% and 10.94% improvements of the performance, respectively.

This paper presents a weakly supervised object detection method based on activity label and relationship modeling, which is motivated by the assumption that configuration of human and object are similar in same activity, and joint modeling of human, active object and activity could leverage the recognition of them. Compared to most weakly supervised method taking object as independent instance, firstly, active human and object proposals are learned and filtered based on class activation map of multi-label classification. Secondly, a spatial relationship prior including relative position, scale, overlaps etc are learned dependent on action. Finally, a multi-stream object detection framework integrating the spatial prior and pairwise ROI pooling are proposed to jointly learn the object and action class. Experiments are conducted on HICO-DET dataset, and our approach outperforms the state of the art weakly supervised object detection methods.
