Broadcast Searchable Keywords Encryption (BSKE) is a novel sch.me that allows searching in encrypted data without knowing a secret key. Consider Bob wants to encrypt the same data under master public key for a group of users and stores this encrypted data with Alice, Malice is one of those recipients he asks Alice using his private key whether or not she has stored encrypted data, then Alice will search in all encrypted data using the master public key, either she finds a matching then returns encrypted data to Malice or does nothing. We hopefully wish Alice will not learn anything from both encrypted data and the query. Our sch.me contributes by providing fixed cipher text O(3) which does not grow with the number of recipients, efficient revocable for users without resets security parameters and the computational cost in the cloud side only. BSKE is designed based on random oracle model and the sch.me is secured against adaptive chosen keyword attack.

In this paper we explore and analyse the heterogeneity existent within a seemingly homogenous sample of online consumer behaviours in terms of their demographic profile. The data from a sample of 371 survey respondents is clustered using various distance functions and a clustering algorithm. In doing so, the respondents are clustered based on their response profiles to online behaviour questions rather than their demographic characteristics or brand preferences. Through our results we highlight that high levels of heterogeneity amongst consumers within the same cluster exists in terms of the 'types' of brand categories they engage with through social media. This finding has implications for marketing strategies and consumer behaviour analysis as it highlights the importance of investigating consumer's behavioural profiles in the online brand setting. Our method also provides an empirical guide to examining respondents' heterogeneity in terms of response profiles rather than 'traditional' segmentation strategies based on basic demographic information or brand categories.

Detecting program changes helps maintainers to figure out the evolution of the changed program. For this, several line-based difference tools have been proposed, which extract differences between two versions of the program. Unfortunately, these tools do not provide enough support to program comprehension since a single commitment stored in a version control system contains multiple changes that are intermingled with each other. Therefore, the maintainers have to untangle them by hand. This work is troublesome and time-consuming. This paper proposes a novel mechanism that automatically detects individual program changes. For this, it restores snapshots of the program from the history of edit operations for the target source code and compares class members that result from syntax analysis for respective snapshots. In addition, the mechanism provides several options of aggregating fine-grained changes detected based on the edit history. The maintainers can select their suitable levels of summarization of program changes. The paper also shows experimental results with a running implementation of the change detection tool. Through the experiment, the detection mechanism presents various kinds of summarized information on program changes, which might facilitate maintainers' activities for program comprehension.

Various statistical and machine learning based algorithms have been proposed in literature for selecting an informative subset of genes from micro array data sets. The recent trend is to use functional knowledge to aid the gene selection process. In this paper we propose a clustering algorithm which generates multiple views (clusters) from the micro array expression profiles, each representing a particular facet of the data. Such multiple clusters are found to represent strongly connected regions of the known protein -- protein interaction (PPI) networks, perhaps corresponding to those responsible for certain biological processes. Thus we integrate micro array data clustering with PPI knowledge to obtain enriched gene sets. Results on benchmark micro array data sets demonstrate the competitiveness of our method compared to gene selection techniques.

Ad-hoc networks are infrastructure-less and without central administration control, minimal configuration and quick deployment make ad-hoc networks suitable for emergency situations like natural disasters or military conflicts. These applications require multicast data transmissions and the data has to be securely passed through the network to the intended receivers. The techniques that are applied for security should also prevent an opponent from learning the contents of these transmissions. Several authentication protocols have been proposed to improve the security of multicast traffic. But not much work has been done on transmitting the data securely in multicast traffic. In the proposed method symmetric encryption is applied to provide confidentiality along with message authentication codes. The performance of various symmetric algorithms such as AES, DES, 3DES and blowfish to the proposed method is analyzed. Simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of each algorithm.

This paper considers cases where a specific number of nodes in an ad hoc network broadcast video and audio streams over the entire network. For the purpose, we have proposed Load and Battery Charge oriented Flooding (LBF), which reduces degradation in delivery quality, and energy consumption, and prevents nodes from being interrupted due to the complete disch.rge of their batteries. This paper describes an evaluation of the proposed method through network simulation. The simulation results indicate that the proposed method can prolong network running time without degradation of delivery quality. © 2012 IEICE Institute of Electronics Informati.

In recent years, there are more and more Open APIs available on the Internet that can be invoked by independent users for their innovative applications. With the development of cloud computing, the number of Open APIs in clouds is also increasing. With the number increasing of functionally- equivalent Open APIs in the cloud, optimal API selection is becoming more and more important. In this paper, we propose a user-group item-based collaborative filtering approach for personalized Open API recommendation in clouds. Our approach is inspired by the idea that item similarity can be measured based on users with similar preference. Our approach classifies similar users into a user-group, and employs item-based collaborative filtering within the user-group. Our approach has good scalability and prediction accuracy. Extensively experimental results based on real-world QoS values of Open APIs demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach. © 2011 IEEE.

Packet classification is an important aspect of modern network systems. Packet classification systems have traditionally been built utilizing Ternary Content Addressable Memory (TCAM) due to the high throughput needed. However, TCAMs are expensive in terms of area and power consumption. An alternative to TCAM based systems using SRAM and a novel rule encoding method has been proposed to match multiple packets simultaneously (using multiple store_compare_units). This alternative achieves similar or better throughput than the traditional TCAM approach while occupying smaller space and consuming less energy. This paper revamps the existing SRAM-based architecture to reduce area and power consumption without threatening throughput. Two methods are shown. The first method allows for range encoding SRAMs to be shared between store_compare_units (SCUs) to lower area and power consumption with minor effect on throughput. The second method discusses a hybrid system allowing rules with prefixes (single rules) and ranges (rules which match a range of addresses, usually translated to many prefixes) to exist in parallel for the same domain. This allows for lower power consumption than utilizing fixed range encoding due to optimization of the ruleset. Results show that this hybrid architecture saves more than 20% of power/field if half of the TCP ports contain ranges (and the other half contains prefixes). The new extensions have been tested in over ten benchmarks (including the SNORT ruleset) to verify the claimed improvements.

This paper puts forward an optimization in routing processing for wireless sensor networks. The sensor node in such network is a battery-operated sensing device. These nodes are placed in space with a consideration to a base station that centralizes and consolidates the data transmitted or forwarded by sensor nodes. When optimizing the management of a Wireless Sensor Network, we have to take care of the consumption of energy that takes place while sensor nodes are running the routing process to send or relay a message to neighbors or to a Base Station. In this paper, we put forward a study of sensors' behavior by modeling and implementing a controller with Coloured Petri Network in order to ensure the reduction of energy consumption in some sensor networks in which each node can be activated or suspended as need be. The controller must deal with activation and suspension to apply a reconfiguring policy to nodes depending on an energy supply level in every sensor in order to obtain the lowest level possible of energy consumption and maintain the same service quality consisting in total coverage of the region to survey and the connection of active nodes to the functional network. The evaluation of our presented model is made by CPN-Tools.

Parallel storage systems have been highly scalable and widely used in support of data-intensive applications. In future systems with the nature of massive data processing and storing, hybrid storage systems opt for a solution to fulfill a variety of demands such as large storage capacity, high I/O performance and low cost. Hybrid storage systems (HSS) contain both high-end storage components (e.g. solid-state disks and hard disk drives) to guarantee performance, and low-end storage components (e.g. tapes) to reduce cost. In HSS, transferring data back and forth among solid-state disks (SSDs), hard disk drives (HDDs), and tapes plays a critical role in achieving high I/O performance. Prefetching is a promising solution to reduce the latency of data transferring in HSS. However, prefetching in the context of HSS is technically challenging due to an interesting dilemma: aggressive prefetching is required to efficiently reduce I/O latency, whereas overaggressive prefetching may waste I/O bandwidth by transferring useless data from HDDs to SSDs or from tapes to HDDs. To address this problem, we propose a multi-layer prefetching algorithm that can judiciously prefetch data from tapes to HDDs and from HDDs to SSDs. To evaluate our algorithm, we develop an analytical model and the experimental results reveal that our prefetching algorithm improves the performance in hybrid storage systems.
