Robust reversible watermarking (RRW) sch.mes play a critical role in vulnerable applications, such as medical imaging, military and remote sensing, which require high fidelity and robustness. Furthermore, an RRW is challenging because it can solve watermark embedding and extraction in lossless and lossy environments. A two-stage RRW approach based on independent embedding domain (IED) has been presented by Wang et al. This paper proposes an RRW sch.me through IED with a reversible watermarking method based on pixel value ordering (PVO). In contrast to Wang et al.'s sch.me, which relies on threshold-based histogram shifting in reversible phase, our proposed method designs and modifies only the highest and lowest values in a block of pixels. Reversibility is guaranteed as it keeps the PVO of each block unchanged during embedding, thereby reducing distortion in the embedded content. The RRW approach based on IED and PVO results improved imperceptibility over the current state-of-The-Art technique. © 2023 IEEE.

In monopulse antenna systems, the feeding network plays a critical role since it provides the sum and difference beams. A hybrid waveguide is a type of four-ports device widely used as a feeding network to produce sum and diff beams. This paper deals with the miniaturization of feeding network monopulse antenna using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW). The proposed feeding network which is developed based on SIW structure will be compared with the conventional one, which has a bulky structure, to determine the miniaturization ratio. Parameters of the feeding network such as physical dimension, return loss, insertion loss, isolation, and phase difference will be analyzed to determine the performance of proposed feeding network after miniaturization. The proposed feeding network is deployed on a double side 1.524 mm thick Rogers RO-4003C dielectric substrate. The characterization results show that the proposed feeding network performs well in each port with the phase difference of 180°. In comparison to the conventional one, the use of SIW structure is ultra-compact and implementable in finite space. © 2023 IEEE.

The use of networks has been accelerated by social adaptations to the Covid-19 pandemic, such as remote work, online shopping, and online meetings. These trends increase the importance of network intrusion detection systems (NIDSs) to protect networks from malware and cyberattacks. Two major technical approaches to NIDS are largely employed: the use of signature matching discriminators and the use of anomaly detectors. Each approach has advantages and disadvantages. Hybrid NIDSs, which integrate aspects of both approaches, minimize the disadvantages and improve detection accuracy, although their detection speed is slow. On the other hand, deep learning methods have been gaining attention as intrusion detectors, including NIDS. Therefore, in this study we propose a two-stage hybrid NIDS that uses deep learning methods, a sparse auto-encoder (SAE), and a multilayer perceptron (MLP). In the first stage of the proposed system, an SAE detects malicious flows while minimizing interference to legitimate flows, and in the second stage an MLP detects malicious flows and precisely classifies each one. Our experimental results against the CICIDS2017 dataset showed that the proposed NIDS was fast and highly accurate. Here we report the architecture of our system and the evaluation of its results. © 2021 IEEE.

Images of tobacco fields collected by drones suffer from Low-Resolution (LR), while the visual similarity between tobacco and weeds exacerbates the difficulty of tobacco segmentation. This study proposes a method for tobacco segmentation based on Super-Resolution Reconstruction (SRR) and semantic segmentation. We designed different strategies of super-resolution (SR) algorithms to enhance tobacco field images, followed by inputting the enhanced images into a semantic segmentation network to achieve precise segmentation of tobacco, weeds, and soil. The application of SRR results in a significant improvement in segmentation accuracy over LR images. Experimental results demonstrate the significant effectiveness of combining drone and SR technologies in tobacco and weed segmentation.

A stable oscillator for generating a wave is one of the important parts for wireless charging system. There are many methods to establish an oscillator featuring with some advantages, one of them is using direct digital synthesizer (DDS). This paper presents the design of a sine wave generator based on an AD9850 DDS module to oscillate at the frequency of 13.56MHz. The use of AD9850 DDS module as the main component of proposed generator is motivated by the features of DDS in producing a stable wave signal and the easier in process designing. To control the output of generator, an IC controller of PIC16F628A type is integrated into the circuit of AD9850 DDS module. From experimental characterization, the realized DDS-based generator could produce a stable sine wave at the frequency of 13.56MHz with the output signal level of-20.29dBm suitable for the desired application. © 2018 IEEE.

A dual band slot dipole antenna integrated with an AMC plane is proposed to reduce SAR when operated on body for WBAN applications. The AMC plane is formed using a 3 × 3 array of unit cells, each consisting of a square patch integrated with diamond-shaped slot. Results indicate that the antenna provides wide upper bandwidth up to 600 MHz (in flat condition) and up to 570 MHz when bent. Besides that, its front-To-back ratio (FBR) is also improved. © 2019 ACES.

As massive open online courses (MOOCs) and online intelligent tutoring systems(ITS) have become increasingly widespread, the number of learners enrolled in online courses has shown explosive growth. However, these learners are likely to have acquired knowledge from diverse educational and vocational backgrounds. Therefore, it is unwise to apply the same criteria and assessment questions to assess all learners' abilities without differentiation. Therefore, the demand for the adaptive arrangement of questions for online learners is ever critical. Deep learning is a new increasingly popular approach for handling extraordinarily complex problems such as image recognition and natural language processing. In this research, we use neural networks to forecast learners' multi-question performance on new test questions and propose a new concept called predictable property for the first time to explain the reasons why neural networks can be applied to predict learners' multi-question performance based on their previous question responses. This approach means that fewer questions need to be answered by learners although more information can be gathered about them through the use of deep-learning-based techniques. Finally, we use both artificial datasets generated by cognitive models and three real-world datasets to validate the algorithm's performance. Experiments show a promising research result when using deep learning to predict learner performance in multi-question tasks and can ultimately provide more accurate adaptive tests for learners.

The first Large Size Telescope (LST-1) of the Cherenkov Telescope Array has been operational since October 2018 at La Palma, Spain. We report on the results obtained during the camera commissioning. The noise level of the readout is determined as a 0.2 p.e. level. The gain of PMTs are well equalized within 2% variation, using the calibration flash system. The effect of the night sky background on the signal readout noise as well as the PMT gain estimation are also well evaluated. Trigger thresholds are optimized for the lowest possible gamma-ray energy threshold and the trigger distribution synchronization has been achieved within 1 ns precision. Automatic rate control realizes the stable observation with 1.5% rate variation over 3 hours. The performance of the novel DAQ system demonstrates a less than 10% dead time for 15 kHz trigger rate even with sophisticated online data correction. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. The problem of optimal Power Policy (PP) design for hybrid interweave/underlay Cognitive Radio (CR) systems is investigated, in the presence of imperfect Spectrum Sensing (SS). A limited Channel State Information at the Transmitter (CSIT) scenario is considered, that has never been studied before, where the Secondary Transmitter (STx) uses combined instantaneous and statistical CSIT. Given such CSIT, the optimal PP with the aim of maximizing the average transmission rate of the CR system, subject to a constraint on the average interference caused by STx transmission to the primary system, is found. The derived PP is then exploited for the development of an iterative framework for the problem of jointly optimizing the sensing time and the applied PP. By means of simulations, it is shown that the proposed joint SS and PP optimization framework offers a clear gain in terms of the achievable rate of the CR system, with respect to conventional underlay and interweave CR systems, especially for intermediate values of the average interference constraint and also for different primary user activity regimes.
