Real-time transmission of remote sensing data is critical for many applications. The rapid enhancement in sensing capabilities has posed challenges in sending large volumes of collected information to users on the ground in a timely manner. Deployed with inter-satellite links (ISLs), low-earth-orbit mega-constellations can facilitate the relay of remote sensing data to ground stations. However, due to scarce spectrum resources, increasing data throughput remains a challenge. Towards this, we explore multi-path transmission of real-time remote sensing data via heterogeneous ISLs, with the aim of maximizing data transmission throughput. We formulate the problem of multi-path transmission via heterogeneous ISLs as a linear program-ming problem, and find that its complexity is exacerbated when dealing with large-scale satellite networks. Therefore, we present an alternative approach using graph theory, transforming the problem into a classical maximum flow problem. This approach ensures optimal resolution of the original problem within polynomial time. Simulations conducted on the Gaofen and Starlink constellation demonstrate the performance benefits of our approach regarding both time complexity and throughput.

Mining accidents claim hundreds and perhaps thousands of lives throughout the world every year. Despite rapid progress in the development of robotic systems, a robot has never been successful in saving a human life in a disaster situation. Factors that have contributed to the failure of deployed robotic systems include reliance on a tether, reliance on expert operators, significant cost and failure due to moisture ingress. We have designed a low cost, robust mine inspection robot with a novel system of mobile communication and sensing nodes. Locomotion is designed to be non-complex and resistant to snagging. Equipped with a range of sensors, this system is easy to use and at can be deployed at an order of magnitude lower cost than current systems.

Hashing methods can perform large scale image retrieval tasks efficiently. Random projection hashing methods, such as the SKLSH, have excellent performances in long code length situation. Owing to the randomness of the projections of random projection hashing methods, projections can be `good' or `bad'. In this work, we propose the Projection Selection Hashing (PSH) to evaluate qualities of projections and select projections for the binary coding to yield a better random projection in comparison to the SKLSH. The PSH is a two-phase algorithm. In the first phase, real-valued vectors describing images are mapped to binary codes by using the random Fourier features projection method. In the second phase, projections with high quality by are selected. The proposed projection selection algorithm is motivated by the feature selection algorithm Relief. We extend it for unsupervised problems. Then, we propose a new update rule to estimate the quality of projections.

In this paper, we propose a method for the problem between liquid level displacement identification of the oil tank and capacity table calibrations. Using the interpolation algorithm to solve the problem, we build a mathematic model of relations among reservoir, oil level height and displacement parameters. Moreover, genetic algorithm iteration is used to determine the displacement parameters.
