At present, the research work on carbon emissions of power systems is mainly oriented to grid tributaries and nodes as a framework to calculate carbon emission flow. Based on this, carbon quotas can be allocated, and emissions can be measured. However, it lacks the analysis of carbon emission time and space attributes. For this reason, the carbon emissions generated by each power generation mode are analyzed at both a regional and life cycle level, and the carbon emissions flow theory of power systems is improved to carry out regional carbon emission intensity calculation, regional carbon emissions flow, and carbon emissions flow correlation relationship analysis. Finally, taking Gansu Province as an example, relying on each region's power generation structure in Gansu Province, the power data between local cities and cities and outgoing to other provinces, the carbon emissions intensity and carbon emissions flow distribution of each region in Gansu Province are calculated, and the carbon emissions transfer path and carbon emissions contribution between regions in Gansu Province are analyzed. A low-carbon regional power system planning exercise in Gansu Province can benefit from the results of the example analysis. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Co., Ltd. 2024.

Privacy Preserving Distributed Bandit Residual Feedback Online Optimization Over Time-Varying Unbalanced Graphs

This paper considers the distributed online optimization(DOO) problem over time-varying unbalanced networks, where gradient information is explicitly unknown. To address this issue, a privacy-preserving distributed online one-point residual feedback(OPRF) optimization algorithm is proposed. This algorithm updates decision variables by leveraging one-point residual feedback to estimate the true gradient information. It can achieve the same performance as the two-point feedback scheme while only requiring a single function value query per iteration. Additionally, it effectively eliminates the effect of time-varying unbalanced graphs by dynamically constructing row stochastic matrices. Furthermore, compared to other distributed optimization algorithms that only consider explicitly unknown cost functions, this paper also addresses the issue of privacy information leakage of nodes. Theoretical analysis demonstrate that the method attains sublinear regret while protecting the privacy information of agents. Finally, numerical experiments on distributed collaborative localization problem and federated learning confirm the effectiveness of the algorithm.

Development of an online fine-tuning soft sensor with ordinary differential equation network and elastic weight consolidation

For data-driven modeling of industrial processes, unknown time delays, data anomalies, and concept drifts often undermine the performance of offline-trained soft sensors. To mitigate these problems, this study presents a fine-tuning-based online learning recurrent neural network (RNN) for industrial soft sensors. Initially, a robust Lipschitz ordinary differential equation RNN (LRNN) was developed for offline training of soft sensors, integrating a generalized M-estimator with a Huber loss function to handle anomalies in both the X-spaces and Y-spaces. Next, an error-triggered update mechanism was introduced to ensure timely model updates while minimizing unnecessary revisions. This mechanism employs sliding window techniques to continuously collect data and automatically initiate updates when error discrepancies exceed a predefined threshold. Furthermore, to mitigate catastrophic forgetting during continuous online learning, an elastic weight consolidation (EWC) algorithm was proposed for the robust LRNN. Finally, the proposed approach was validated through simulations on an artificial dataset and an industrial application to predict steam production in a coke dry quenching process. Comparative results with state-of-the-art algorithms highlighted the superiority of the proposed method. The online fine-tuning soft sensors effectively address model degradation due to concept drifts in industrial processes. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

Feasibility Analysis and Design of Gas-Electricity Integrated Transmission System

An increasing number of large-scale renewable plants are generating abundant electricity. As power-to-gas and power-to-x technologies become promising ways to utilize surplus electricity to enhance the flexibility of energy systems, an innovative gas-electricity integrated transmission system (GEITS) to co-transmit electricity and hydrogen or other gas products is proposed, with the foreseeable advantages of compact structure, lower installation cost, and larger energy capacity. This paper investigates the feasibility of GEITS, suggests a design guideline, and gives the operation technical parameters of GEITS in different application scenarios. The dimensions and operating pressures of GEITS benchmark natural gas pipelines and then the nominal voltages of GEITS are calculated based on the electrical strength of high-pressure hydrogen. The nominal ampacities of GEITS are evaluated by temperature-rising simulations, which are larger than those of other transmission lines. Furthermore, high-pressure flowing hydrogen acting as an electrical insulator is a novel topic, and it is investigated via experimental validation on a scale model. Although the effect of 0.4 m/s flowing hydrogen on discharge characteristics has not been observed compared to static hydrogen, the discharge is impaired in 2.4 m/s flowing nitrogen. Future works will investigate the electrical strength of high-pressure long-distance hydrogen gaps under lightning impulse tests and the discharge phenomenon in higher flowing-velocity hydrogen. Methane and methane blended with hydrogen with higher insulation performance can increase the nominal voltages.

UV light-induced oxygen doping in graphitic carbon nitride with suppressed deep trapping for enhancement in CO_(2) photoreduction activity

While photoreduction of CO_(2) to CH 4 is an effective means of producing value-added fuels,common pho-tocatalysts have poor activity and low selectivity in photocatalytic CO_(2)-reduction *** though creating defects is an effective photocatalyst fabrication route to improve photocatalytic activity,there are some challenges with the facile photocatalyst synthesis *** this work,an O element is in-troduced into a graphitic carbon nitride(CN)skeleton through a precursory ultraviolet light irradiation pretreatment to increase the visible light absorption and enhance the carrier density of this modified non-metal CN photocatalyst;the charge transfer dynamics thereof are also studied through electrochem-ical tests,photoluminescence spectroscopy,and nanosecond transient *** verify that the op-timized sample exhibits lower charge recombination and a suppressed 84 ns electron-trapping lifetime,compared to the 103 ns electron-trapping lifetime of the CN counterpart,and thereby contributes to ro-bust detrapping and a fast transfer of active *** density functional theory calculations,we find that the improved light absorption and increased electron density are ascribed to O-element doping,which enhances the CO_(2) adsorption energy and improves the CO_(2)-to-CH 4 photoreduction activity;it be-comes 17 times higher than that of the bare CN,and the selectivity is 3.8 times higher than that of ***,the optimized sample demonstrates excellent cyclic stability in a 24-hour cycle test.

This paper proposes a novel dual-layer permanent magnet variable leakage flux machine (DLPM-VLFM) for electrified vehicle (EV) applications, which can solve the drawbacks in conventional variable-leakage-flux permanent magnet machines (VLF-PMMs) with single layer PM, such as compromised torque density due to the significant leakage flux. The proposed design features a DLPM arrangement and unique leakage flux paths. The leakage flux paths are purposely placed at both ends of the second-layer PMs to introduce variable-leakage-flux (VLF) property. Therefore, the proposed machine can well balance the performance conflicts between low-speed torque capability and high-speed efficiency, enabling broader design space to achieve VLF property. Firstly, the design approach and specification of the proposed machine are introduced and investigated, respectively. The operating principle of the proposed DLPM-VLFM is studied, and a multi-objective optimization is performed to achieve the optimal design. Afterwards, the electromagnetic performance of the proposed machine is evaluated and compared with a benchmark conventional PMM using finite-element (FE) method. Finally, a mechanical stress analysis is conducted, verifying the mechanical reliability of the proposed machine. © 2024 IEEE.
