Personal identification is important to protect data from cyber-attacks. Minutiae feature extraction and matching are key tasks for recognizing fingerprints and are essential to Automatic Fingerprint Recognition (AFR) systems. Fingerprint recognition technologies are becoming increasingly significant in preventing identity theft and ensuring accurate identification. However, the major problem is their identification sensors are vulnerable to presentation or spoofing attacks from the fake fingerprint samples. To overcome these problems, an improved AKAZE is introduced for feature extraction and feature matching in the process of fingerprint identification. Thinning and dilation methods are used for preprocessing the image and Improved AKAZE is used for feature extraction of the fingerprint images. After extracting features, the proposed Improved AKAZE is used for identifying and matching those fingerprint images. The proposed method is evaluated on publicly available FVC2004 dataset. Security Metrics and Authentication-based RouTing (SMART) Protocol for Vehicular IoT Networks

Routing protocols, responsible for determining optimal paths, fall into two main categories: reactive and proactive protocols. In the realm of reactive routing protocols, exemplified by Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV), routes are created only when there is an actual data transmission requirement. In contrast, proactive routing protocols maintain pre-computed paths to all potential destinations, resulting in reduced resource utilization within reactive protocols and continuous route maintenance within proactive ones. Reactive routing protocols are resource efficient as they establish routes as needed, while proactive counterparts maintain routing tables for all possible destinations, ensuring constant route availability regardless of data transmission demands. This paper primarily concentrates on the reactive routing protocol category, focusing on real-time path optimization and routing information updates. In the context of Vehicular Internet of Things (VIoT) networks, where malicious entities might attempt to flood, mislead, or impersonate routing packets, it is imperative to ensure robust security measures within the routing protocol. Unfortunately, secure routing protocols in VIoT networks, including AODV, SAODV, and SGHRP, often exhibit inefficiencies and impose a high overhead. To address these challenges, this research paper introduces the Security Metrics and Authentication-based RouTing (SMART) protocol for VIoT networks, with a focus on enhancing security while minimizing overhead. The SMART protocol utilizes the Merkle tree for hash (digest) generation, which is then encrypted using Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) to reduce overhead. This proposed protocol enhances security by authenticating the source and incorporating security metrics into the routing information. Learner diversity is a matter for universities enrolling international students. Hence, learner engagement then becomes a major concern for instructors. This study uses gamification techniques to determine its impact on engagement and learning when it comes to diverse cohort of learners. A survey questionnaire method was used to identify the effect of gamification on engagement, motivation, performance, and learning. This empirical study revealed that quizzes supported by gamification enhanced engagement, performance, and learning but did not motivate learners to study outside the lecture theatre. High Resolution Solar Image Generation Using Generative Adversarial Networks

We applied Deep Learning algorithm known as Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to perform solar image-to-image translation. That is, from Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO)/Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) line of sight magnetogram images to SDO/Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) 0304-Å images. The Ultraviolet (UV)/Extreme Ultraviolet observations like the SDO/AIA 0304-Å images were only made available to scientists in the late 1990s even though the magnetic field observations like the SDO/HMI have been available since the 1970s. Therefore, by leveraging Deep Learning algorithms like GANs we can give scientists access to complete datasets for analysis. For generating high resolution solar images, we use the Pix2PixHD and Pix2Pix algorithms. The Pix2PixHD algorithm was specifically designed for high resolution image generation tasks, and the Pix2Pix algorithm is by far the most widely used image to image translation algorithm. For training and testing we used the data for the year 2012, 2013 and 2014. After model training, we evaluated the model on the test data. The results show that our deep learning models are capable of generating high resolution (1024 × 1024 pixels) SDO/AIA0304 images from SDO/HMI line of sight magnetograms. Specifically, the pixel-to-pixel Pearson Correlation Coefficient of the images generated by Pix2PixHD and original images is as high as 0.99. The number is 0.962 if Pix2Pix is used to generate images. The results we get for our Pix2PixHD model is better than the results obtained by previous works done by others to generate SDO/AIA 0304 images. Thus, we can use these models to generate AIA0304 images when the AIA0304 data is not available which can be used for understanding space weather and giving researchers the capability to predict solar events such as Solar Flares and Coronal Mass Ejections. As cities grow, handling traffic in big urban are-as becomes a huge proble-m. More cars on the road and not enough roads le-ad to heavy traffic jams. This increases trave-l time and harms our environment. Our study tackle-s these problems with a ne-w approach. We use real-time- lane detection with YOLOv8 and adaptable- traffic lights. Using sharp computer vision, our system pinpoints vehicle-s. It adjusts traffic light timings on-the-go to improve traffic flow. Our model works e-xtremely accurately. During the- learning phase, it achieve-d a mAP50 score of 99.3% and a mAP50-95 score of 87.4%. In the te-sting phase, it got a mAP score of 99.2% and a mAP50-95 score of 86.2%. The re-sults highlight how the system can improve city trave-l. It's valuable for city planners and traffic officials. It helps the-m understand smart transportation systems bette-r. © 2024 IEEE.

In response to the shortcomings of Dwarf Mongoose Optimization(DMO)algorithm,such as insufficient exploitation capability and slow convergence speed,this paper proposes a multi-strategy enhanced DMO,referred to as ***,we propose an improved solution search equation that utilizes the Gbest-guided strategy with different parameters to achieve a trade-off between exploration and exploitation(EE).Secondly,the Lévy flight is introduced to increase the diversity of population distribution and avoid the algorithm getting stuck in a local *** addition,in order to address the problem of low convergence efficiency of DMO,this study uses the strong nonlinear convergence factor Sigmaid function as the moving step size parameter of the mongoose during collective activities,and combines the strategy of the salp swarm leader with the mongoose for cooperative optimization,which enhances the search efficiency of agents and accelerating the convergence of the algorithm to the global optimal solution(Gbest).Subsequently,the superiority of GLSDMO is verified on CEC2017 and CEC2019,and the optimization effect of GLSDMO is analyzed in *** results show that GLSDMO is significantly superior to the compared algorithms in solution quality,robustness and global convergence rate on most test ***,the optimization performance of GLSDMO is verified on three classic engineering examples and one truss topology optimization *** simulation results show that GLSDMO achieves optimal costs on these real-world engineering problems.

The MS-GLMB filter offers a robust framework for tracking multiple objects through the use of multi-sensor data. Building on this, the MV-GLMB and MV-GLMB-AB filters enhance the MS-GLMB capabilities by employing cameras for 3D multi-sensor multi-object tracking, effectively addressing occlusions. However, both filters depend on overlapping fields of view from the cameras to combine complementary information. In this paper, we introduce an improved approach that integrates an additional sensor, such as LiDAR, into the MS-GLMB framework for 3D multi-object tracking. Specifically, we present a new LiDAR measurement model, along with a multi-camera and LiDAR multi-object measurement model. Our experimental results demonstrate a significant improvement in tracking performance compared to existing MS-GLMB-based methods. Importantly, our method eliminates the need for overlapping fields of view, broadening the applicability of the MS-GLMB filter. In the field of medical image analysis, with the growth of data volume and the increasing demand for privacy protection, traditional centralized learning methods are facing the problems of data silos and privacy leakage. Therefore, federated learning, as an emerging distributed machine learning framework, provides a solution to protect data privacy while effectively utilizing decentralized data. The purpose of this study is to develop a federated learning-based medical image analysis and classification system to solve the data isolation and privacy problems existing in traditional methods. This study uses a distributed federated learning framework that allows multiple healthcare organizations to share updates to their models instead of raw data. Data privacy protection is further enhanced through the use of differential privacy and secure multi-party computation techniques. In addition, a deep convolutional neural network (CNN) is used to improve the accuracy of feature extraction and classification of medical images. Experimental analysis shows that the system can significantly improve the classification accuracy of medical images. Specifically, our system achieved a 15% improvement in classification accuracy compared to traditional centralized methods. Additionally, the implementation of differential privacy and secure multi-party computation resulted in a privacy leakage reduction of 25%. These results verify the application potential of federated learning in the field of medical image processing, demonstrating superior performance and enhanced privacy protection compared to traditional centralized learning methods. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Accurate prediction of mortality in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), a complex malignancy particularly challenging in advanced stages, is crucial for optimizing treatment strategies and improving patient outcomes. However, this predictive process is often compromised by the high-dimensional and heterogeneous nature of NPC-related data, coupled with the pervasive issue of incomplete multi-modal data, manifesting as missing radiological images or incomplete diagnostic reports. Traditional machine learning approaches suffer significant performance degradation when faced with such incomplete data, as they fail to effectively handle the high-dimensionality and intricate correlations across modalities. Even advanced multi-modal learning techniques like Transformers struggle to maintain robust performance in the presence of missing modalities, as they lack specialized mechanisms to adaptively integrate and align the diverse data types, while also capturing nuanced patterns and contextual relationships within the complex NPC data. To address these problem, we introduce IMAN: an adaptive network for robust NPC mortality prediction with missing modalities. IMAN features three integrated modules: the Dynamic Cross-Modal Calibration (DCMC) module employs adaptive, learnable parameters to scale and align medical images and field data;the Spatial-Contextual Attention Integration (SCAI) module enhances traditional Transformers by incorporating positional information within the self-attention mechanism, improving multi-modal feature integration;and the Context-Aware Feature Acquisition (CAFA) module adjusts convolution kernel positions through learnable offsets, allowing for adaptive feature capture across various scales and orientations in medical image modalities. Extensive experiments on our proprietary NPC dataset demonstrate IMAN's robustness and high predictive accuracy, even with missing data.
