In the context of Arab cities,this study explores the intricate interplay between cultural,historical,and environmental elements that shape their unique *** paper aims to shed light on this underrepresented field of study by employing a three-fold research approach:systematic review,a comprehensive literature review,and the formulation of a future research *** first part of the investigation focuses on research productivity in the Arab world regarding soundscape *** analysis of publication trends reveals that soundscape research in Arab cities is still an emerging area of *** gaps in the existing body of literature are identified,highlighting the importance of addressing these gaps within the broader context of global soundscape *** second part of the study delves into the distinctive features that inform the soundscapes of Arab *** features are categorized into three overarching groups:(i)cultural and religious life,(ii)daily life,and(iii)heritage and history,by exploring these factors,the study aims to elucidate the multifaceted nature of Arab urban *** the resonating calls to prayer and the vibrant ambiance of traditional cafes to the bustling markets and architectural characteristics,each factor contributes to the auditory tapestry that defines Arab *** paper concludes with a forward-looking research agenda,proposing sixteen key questions organized into descriptive and comparative *** questions emphasize the need for a more profound understanding of sound perception,sources,and the impact of urban morphology on the ***,they highlight the need for interdisciplinary research,involving fields such as urban planning,architecture,psychology,sociology,and cultural studies to unravel the complexity of Arab urban soundscapes.

In order to solve the problem that traditional GIS methods are difficult to handle massive data, complex spatial relationships and accurate geographic phenomenon modeling. By fusing terrain and feature models, geographic phenomena can be efficiently and accurately represented and analyzed to provide a reliable basis for decision making. This paper proposes a fusion modeling technique for massive strip 3D terrain and feature models, aiming to solve the problem of effective fusion and modeling of 3D terrain and feature models for strip data in large-scale spatial data processing. Based on open-source geographic information technology, the traditional method is designed to unify and model 2D vector data, raster data, BIM data and 3D data from different sources, formats and scales to form a standardized spatial data set, in response to the problems of high computational complexity, large storage requirements and data redundancy in processing massive data. For the characteristics of strip data and 3D terrain and feature models, geometric matching and semantic matching methods are used to fuse and process vector data representing the same entity with different attribute information and spatial location information to solve the problem of data redundancy and duplication;it is used to describe the different levels and precision of spatial data, and the appropriate data precision can be flexibly selected in the fusion modeling process, so as to achieve a balance between data quality and calculation The purpose of balancing data quality and computational efficiency. Based on LOD hierarchical detail technology fusion processing of terrain-independent BIM models, terrain-dependent fusion of linear 3D feature models, to achieve the surface fitting of multi-source 3D model data in a specific scene, to improve the 3D scene display effect. In terms of data processing efficiency: traditional GIS methods may face bottlenecks in computation and storage when dealing with massive data.

With the completion of railroad line resurvey work, the measurement data are scattered in various units and lack unified storage and management, which brings many challenges and problems to railroad operation and maintenance. To solve this problem, this study proposes a multi-version, multi-temporal spatial data storage technology, as well as a distributed fast storage technology and a spatial service engine by studying the data management work, aiming to realize unified and fast storage, management and sharing of railroad survey data to improve the reliability, consistency and validity of data. First, this study focuses on the multi-version and multi-temporal spatial data storage technology. By adopting this technology, a large amount of spatial data generated by railroad line resurvey can be effectively handled, and the storage and management of different versions and temporal phases of data can be realized. Meanwhile, distributed fast storage technology is introduced to provide high-speed data access and processing capability to cope with the storage and processing demand of massive data. In addition, using the spatial service engine, fast query and analysis of measurement data can be realized. Second, this study also conducts an in-depth research on the railroad line measurement data management system. First, the overall architecture of the system is designed to ensure the scalability and flexibility of the system. Then, the data structure of the system was optimized to accommodate the storage and query requirements of multi-version and multi-temporal data. In terms of technical architecture, distributed storage technology is adopted to realize fast storage and retrieval of remote sensing, 2D vector and 3D model data. The incorporation of cognitive computing into real-time financial threat operations, to highlight the revolutionary potential of this technology for the financial sector. Cognitive computing, which is a combination of artificial intelligence, machine literacy, and natural language processing, improves the capability to reuse enormous quantities of financial data quickly and directly. The purpose of this study is to investigate how cognitive systems can recognise, evaluate, and mitigate financial risks in real-time. These systems offer greater prophetic analytics and decision-making support in comparison to traditional methods. Cognitive computing makes it possible to conduct more accurate threat assessments, detect implicit dangers earlier, and improve nonsupervisory compliance. This is accomplished through the use of sophisticated algorithms and data analytics. Case studies illustrate the practical applications of these technologies through the use of colourful financial scripts, demonstrating how beneficial they are in improving threat operating methods. In the final section of the study, the author discusses the counterarguments that cognitive computing poses for the future of fiscal threat operation, as well as the implicit issues that are associated with its widespread abandonment. © 2024 IEEE.

The growing demand for location-based services in areas like virtual reality, robot control, and navigation has intensified the focus on indoor localization. Visible light positioning (VLP), leveraging visible light communications (VLC), becomes a promising indoor positioning technology due to its high accuracy and low cost. This paper provides a comprehensive survey of VLP systems. In particular, since VLC lays the foundation for VLP, we first present a detailed overview of the principles of VLC. Then, we provide an in-depth overview of VLP algorithms. The performance of each positioning algorithm is also compared in terms of various metrics such as accuracy, coverage, and orientation limitation. Beyond the physical layer studies, the network design for a VLP system is also investigated, including multi-access technologies, resource allocation, and light-emitting diode (LED) placements. Next, the applications of the VLP systems are overviewed. Finally, this paper outlines open issues, challenges, and opportunities for the research field. In a nutshell, this paper constitutes the first holistic survey on VLP from state-of-the-art studies to practical uses. © 1998-2012 IEEE.

City Information Modelling (CIM) has emerged as a promising approach for developing smart and sustainable cities. The study conducted a scientometric review and visualisation of global CIM research from 1996 to 2023 through a co-author, co-word, and co-citation analysis on 303 bibliographic records from the Scopus core collection database using VOSviewer and Gephi software. Prominent research domains encompass areas such as Smart City, Digital Twin, CIM, 3D City Models, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Building Information Modelling (BIM), Big Data, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Leading institutions contributing significantly to CIM research include NEC Laboratories Europe in Germany, the University of Florence in Italy, Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, South China University of Technology in China, the Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States, and the National University of Singapore in Singapore. These institutions have emerged as influential contributors to the field of CIM research. The United States, China, Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, and the United Kingdom have emerged as leaders in citations for CIM research. Additionally, the study identified key publication outlets such as Sustainable Cities and Society, ISPRS journals, and Lecture Notes in Computer Science, emphasizing their pivotal role in disseminating CIM research. The study further identified some of the practical applications of CIM in Urban developments, such as Energy-Efficient Urban Planning, Urban Digital Twins for Participatory Planning, Geographical Digital Twins for Renewable Energy, Crisis Management Information Systems, Innovative Land Acquisition, Building Energy Consumption Optimization, and so on. Areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Human Factors, Design, Linked Data Benchmark, Photogrammetry, Photorealistic Texture, Virtual Reality, Ontology, and Semantic Web require considerable attention and warrant further studies. An important method for determining the fatigue life of a wind turbine blade is wind turbine blade fatigue testing. With a focus on the excitation mode, the relationship between excitation amplitude and vibration frequency, and the vibration principle, this study investigates the issues that arise during the wind turbine blade fatigue test. Then, it suggests practical solutions that could be applied to actual operations.

The use of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has been growing over the last few years making these appliances available in every household and organization. This significant rise of usability led to misuse, especially by non-technical people, making it an easy target for attackers to intrude on these networks. Therefore, the conventional thinking of protecting the information technology devices needs to embrace these frequent changes. Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) is one of the modern techniques that can be used to keep track of these new systems by harvesting publicly available information. Collecting the needed information can be challenging for the IoT devices manufacturing companies and clients. This paper proposes an Open-Source Intelligence tool for IoT devices detection called Eagle-Eye which is integrated with Shodan search engine to perform OSINT queries and display it in user-friendly format. With the use of this tool companies, clients and researchers can automate their task of identifying and searching for different IoT devices statics that can be utilized and analyzed to harden these devices. © 2022 IEEE.

Blockchain is a relatively new technology, a distributed database used for sharing between nodes of computer networks. A blockchain stores all information in automated digital format as a database. Blockchain innovation ensures the accuracy and security of the data record and generates trust without the need for a trusted third party. The objectives of this paper are to determine the security risk of the blockchain systems, analyze the vulnerabilities exploited on the blockchain, and identify recent security challenges that the blockchain faces. This review paper presents some of the previous studies of the security threats that blockchain faces and reviews the security enhancement solutions for blockchain vulnerabilities. There are some studies on blockchain security issues, but there is no systematic examination of the problem, despite the blockchain system's security threats. An observational research methodology was used in this research. Through this methodology, many research related to blockchain threats and vulnerabilities obtained. The outcomes of this research are to Identify the most important security threats faced by the blockchain and consideration of security recently vulnerabilities. Processes and methods for dealing with security concerns are examined. Intelligent corporate security academic challenges and limitations are covered throughout this review. The goal of this review is to serve as a platform as well as a reference point for future work on blockchain-based security. © 2022 IEEE.

Designing Chatbots to Support Victims and Survivors of Domestic Abuse

Objective: Domestic abuse cases have risen significantly over the last four years, in part due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges for victims and survivors in accessing support. In this study, we investigate the role that chatbots – Artificial Intelligence (AI) and rule-based – may play in supporting victims/survivors in situations such as these or where direct access to help is limited. Methods: Interviews were conducted with experts working in domestic abuse support services and organizations (e.g., charities, law enforcement) and the content of websites of related support-service providers was collected. Thematic content analysis was then applied to assess and extract insights from the interview data and the content on victim-support websites. We also reviewed pertinent chatbot literature to reflected on studies that may inform design principles and interaction patterns for agents used to support victims/survivors. Results: From our analysis, we outlined a set of design considerations/practices for chatbots that consider potential use cases and target groups, dialog structure, personality traits that might be useful for chatbots to possess, and finally, safety and privacy issues that should be addressed. Of particular note are situations where AI systems (e.g., ChatGPT, CoPilot, Gemini) are not recommended for use, the value of conveying emotional support, the importance of transparency, and the need for a safe and confidential space. Conclusion: It is our hope that these considerations/practices will stimulate debate among chatbot and AI developers and service providers and – for situations where chatbots are deemed appropriate for use – inspire efficient use of chatbots in the support of survivors of domestic abuse. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.
