The Locator/ID Separation Protocol (LISP) is a routing architecture that provides new semantics for IP addressing. In order to simplify routing operations and improve scalability in future Internet, the LISP separates the device identity from its location using two different numbering spaces. The LISP also, introduces a mapping system to match the two spaces. In the initial stage, each LISP-capable router needs to register with a Map Server, this is known as the Registration stage. However, this stage is vulnerable to masquerading and content poisoning attacks. Therefore, a new security method for protecting the LISP Registration stage is presented in this paper. The proposed method uses the ID-Based Cryptography (IBC) which allows the mapping system to authenticate the source of the data. The proposal has been verified using formal methods approach based on the well-developed Casper/FDR tool. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

Speech emotion recognition using a novel feature set

Speech emotion recognition has attracted attentions from increased number of researchers in Psychology, Computer science, Phonetics and related disciplines. This paper discusses combining multiple features for speech emotion recognition to yield improved performance. It proposes using combination of multiple features to improve recognition performance. Using ChineseLDC emotional database, the experiment results show that a novel feature set of MFCC, fundamental frequency, Δ MFCC, Δ Δ MFCC, energy, zero-crossing ratio and amplitude can get the best performance as 95% and 84% for emotional speech recognition of four emotional state and six emotional state. © 2013 Binary Information Press.

It is desired to require a walking robot for the elderly and the disabled to have large capacity,high stiffness,stability,***,the existing walking robots cannot achieve these requirements because of the weight-payload ratio and simple ***,Improvement of enhancing capacity and functions of the walking robot is an important research *** to walking requirements and combining modularization and reconfigurable ideas,a quadruped/biped reconfigurable walking robot with parallel leg mechanism is *** proposed robot can be used for both a biped and a quadruped walking *** kinematics and performance analysis of a 3-UPU parallel mechanism which is the basic leg mechanism of a quadruped walking robot are conducted and the structural parameters are *** results show that performance of the walking robot is optimal when the circumradius R,r of the upper and lower platform of leg mechanism are 161.7 mm,57.7 mm,*** on the optimal results,the kinematics and dynamics of the quadruped walking robot in the static walking mode are derived with the application of parallel mechanism and influence coefficient theory,and the optimal coordination distribution of the dynamic load for the quadruped walking robot with over-determinate inputs is analyzed,which solves dynamic load coupling caused by the branches’ constraint of the robot in the walk *** laying a theoretical foundation for development of the prototype,the kinematics and dynamics studies on the quadruped walking robot also boost the theoretical research of the quadruped walking and the practical applications of parallel mechanism.

Electrical resistivity technique has become a popular alternative tool by the geotechnical engineers in subsurface investigation. This study presents the influence of soil electrical resistivity value (ERV) due to the different types of electrical resistivity array used in practice. The dissimilarity of ERV was become a popular debate by the engineers which posses less fundamental knowledge in this area. In the past, the theory of electrical resistivity technique was less being discovered by the engineer which creates lots of black boxes during the utilization of electrical resistivity method (ERM) in engineering purposes. Hence, the result which produced from the ERM was difficult to deliver in a sound of definitive ways due to lack of knowledge and experienced of most engineers. Hence, this study presents the influence of soil ERV due to the different types of array used with particular reference to as Dipole-dipole and Pole-dipole. A line of electrical resistivity imaging was performed on small embankment of sandy and lateritic soil with different types of array using ABEM SAS (4000) equipment. Three in line of soil samples were tested for moisture content (w) test immediately after the electrical resistivity data acquisition was completely measured. Moreover, particle size distribution test also was performed for all soil samples in order to support the findings. It was found that the ERV was never be the same for each types of array used even on the same particular location of the survey line. However, it was found that there was a consistent relationship between ERV and moisture content for both types of soil tested which can be represent by ERV ∞ 1/w. Hence, it was found that ERV produced was relative to the types of array used during the field measurement. Each types of array were applicable to be used in subsurface profiling and its selection was subjected to the target of interest. © 2013 ejge.

Electrical resistivity method (ERM) is increasingly and favourably adopted in geotechnical engineering due to a variety of reasons. In the past, ERM was popularly used in engineering, environmental and archaeological purposes. Its reliability depended entirely on the expert interpretation skills of a geophysicist. However, by virtue of the indirectness in measurement, ERM data must needs be strongly verified during the interpretation stage in order to produce results that are sufficiently reliable for use by geotechnical engineer in design and construction stages. Hence, this study presents such a demonstration of the influence of soil moisture content and grain size characteristics to field resistivity data as much desired for ERM verification. 2D ERM was performed using a set of ABEM (SAS) 4000 based on pole-dipole array. Three soil samples from locations lying along a survey line were collected immediately for moisture content and particle size distribution test according to BS 1377 (1990). Laboratory geotechnical tests strongly indicated that the electrical resistivity data can varied with the moisture content and grain size character. Soil electrical resistivity values decreased with increasing moisture content and fines content. The correlations established between the above parameters in this study, help to strongly ratify the field ERM data and thus contribute to a meaningful ERM interpretation. © 2013 ejge.

Since digital devices such as computers are vulnerable to attack by criminals, digital forensics is very important. Understanding digital forensic procedures will help to capture vital information which can be used to prosecute an intruder that compromises a digital devices or network. A large amount of information is produced, accumulated, and distributed via electronic means. It is necessary for forensic experts to increase their abilities to gather evidence from digital devices. Also, implementing security mechanism and guidelines to digital forensic investigative process is needed to correctly analyze evidence. The advancement of the digital forensic investigation requires a new design, improved mechanism and processes. Forensic experts are faced with growth in data. Huge amount of data has expanded and grown in recent years and attempts to consume the storage space available. There is need to understand the importance of a digital forensic investigative framework.

Cloud computing is a new paradigm with a promising potential. However, issues of security, privacy, and trust raise concerns and discourage its adoption. In previous work we presented a framework for the selection of appropriate cloud provider based on security and privacy requirements criteria. However, the adoption of cloud includes release of control over valuable assets, which constitutes trust in the cloud provider of paramount importance. In this paper we extend the framework by incorporating trust and control concepts in its language and adding a new activity to properly identify and reason about trust assumptions during the selection of appropriate cloud provider. Also, the CASE tool was extended to support the new activity. A case study is used to illustrate the usefulness of our approach. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

Recent research has argued about the importance of considering security during Requirements engineering (RE) stage. Literature also emphasizes the importance of using ontologies to facilitate requirements elicitation. Ontologies are known to be rich sources of knowledge, and, being structured and equipped with reasoning features, they form a powerful tool to handle requirements. We believe that security being a multi-faceted problem, a single security ontology is not enough to guide SR engineering (SRE) efficiently. Indeed, security ontologies only focus on technical and domain independent aspects of security. Therefore, one can hypothesize that domain knowledge is needed too. Our question is "how to combine the use of security ontologies and domain ontologies to guide requirements elicitation efficiently and effectively?" We propose a method that exploits both types of ontologies dynamically through a collection of heuristic production rules. We demonstrate that the combined use of security ontologies with domain ontologies to guide SR elicitation is more effective than just relying on security ontologies. This paper presents our method and reports a preliminary evaluation conducted through critical analysis by experts. The evaluation shows that the method provides a good balance between the genericity with respect to the ontologies (which do not need to be selected in advance), and the specificity of the elicited requirements with respect to the domain at hand.

Different logotypes represent significant cues for video annotations. A combination of temporal and spatial segmentation methods can be used for logo extraction from various video contents. To achieve this segmentation, pixels with low variation of intensity over time are detected. Static backgrounds can become spurious parts of these logos. This paper offers a new way to use several segmentations of logos to learn new logo models from which noise has been removed. First, we group segmented logos of similar appearances into different clusters. Then, a model is learned for each cluster that has a minimum number of members. This is done by applying a linear inverse diffusion filter to all logos in each cluster. Our experiments demonstrate that this filter removes most of the noise that was added to the logo during segmentation and it successfully copes with misclassified logos that have been wrongly added to a cluster. © 2013 IEEE.
