This paper visualizes the annual Baidu index of Guilin and tries to develop a big data service platform. The following conclusions are drawn: the overall characteristics of the national network attention to Guilin tourism are large attention base;the design of visual spatial database intelligent query system based on Python language can improve the actual social and commercial benefits of data visualization. Using distributed big data information fusion and feature reorganization technology to realize the heterogeneous fusion design of visual spatial database. © 2022 SPIE.

Study on the Thermal Comfort, Use and Microclimate Preferences of the Elderly in Residential Communities

The significance of thermal comfort for outdoor activities is increasingly recognized, particularly for the elderly, who may be adversely affected by unfavorable thermal environments in residential communities. This study aims to explore the relationship between the elderly's thermal comfort, usage patterns, and preferences and to identify the influencing factors through a comprehensive framework that includes environmental and demographic information. Field measurements and questionnaire surveys were conducted across 19 residential communities in three cities within Building Climate Zone II in China. Descriptive analysis and logistic regression analysis were employed to examine various factors in relation to the elderly's thermal comfort, duration of activity, and microclimate preferences as metrics. The study revealed that elderly residents in communities with various socioeconomic statuses experience different thermal comfort and have different duration of activity and preferences for microclimates. Specifically, elderly adults with longer activity duration favor environments with increased windiness and sunlight, less likely to prefer drier environment. Environmental factors significantly influence thermal comfort and activity duration. Total building Volume (V), Space Crowding Degree (SCD), Average Height (AH) are correlated with thermal comfort, while Average Height (AH), Floor Area Ratio (FAR),and Land Surface Temperature(LST) are associated with duration of activity. Personal factors including Age, Education, and Duration of residence were identified as key factors. The empirical findings provide urban planners with insights to better cater to the needs of the elderly in residential area design, emphasizing the importance of considering thermal perceptions and preferences in the planning process. © 2024, The Authors. Examining Thermal Inequities: Land Surface Temperature, Social Vulnerability, and Historical Redlining in San Antonio, Tx

Rising urban temperatures significantly impact human health, with their effects varying across socio-economic groups. With a focus on San Antonio, Texas, during its notably intense summer heat in 2023, this research explores the intricate relationship between urban heat and social vulnerability. Through the analysis of Land Surface Temperature (LST) data from Landsat 8 data, captured during three exceptionally hot days, a positive correlation between LST and the Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) was revealed. This relationship shows that areas with higher SVI, indicative of greater vulnerability, consistently experience higher LSTs. The study further investigated two distinct census tracts: one in a previously redlined area with a high SVI and another in a 'A-best' HOLC area with a low SVI. The comparative study between these two tracts revealed significant Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and subsequent thermal variances. It was found that the tract in the historically redlined area consistently experiences higher minimum and mean LST, indicating how past housing policies continue to impact present-day environmental and social conditions. Findings reveal the critical connection between urban heat and social vulnerability, contributing to a broader understanding of the interplay between historical and social factors in shaping thermal inequities in a historically redlined city. © 2024, The Authors. Electron beam crosslinking is a highly efficient technique that forms crosslinked structures without harmful chemical crosslinkers or catalysts, eliminating the need for additional washing or sterilization. This makes it time- and energy-efficient. In this study, hydrogels were successfully prepared using carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), a material with excellent hydrophilicity, biodegradability, and non-toxicity, and citric acid (CA), a natural polymer, as a crosslinking agent through electron beam irradiation. To determine optimal mixing conditions, response surface analysis was conducted using the central composite design (CCD) methodology. Results showed that CMC had the most significant impact on the water absorption performance of hydrogels. Excessively low (4.2wt%) or high (9.8wt%) CMC concentrations reduced water absorption. The regression model demonstrated high reliability with an R2 value of 0.91. Based on the response model, optimal conditions for hydrogel preparation were identified as 9.17wt% CMC and 2.92wt% CA. Under these conditions, the predicted water absorption was approximately 79.5 g/g. Validation experiments confirmed these findings, with actual water absorption at 83.8 g/g, showing a +5% error rate. This study provides a predictive model for estimating water absorption based on specific CMC and CA concentrations. © 2025 Korean Technical Assoc. of the Pulp and Paper Industry. This article uses Python to collect the "Baidu Index"index provided by Baidu search engine to conduct an in-depth exploration of the network attention of Guilin Tourism from 2011 to 2020. The results show that the online attention of Guilin tourism before 2019 showed an overall upward trend, but due to the impact of the new crown epidemic, the online attention of Guilin in 2020 has dropped significantly. The monthly network attention of Guilin Tourism shows obvious seasonality. The areas with higher attention on the national Guilin tourism economic network are mainly East China and South China. In comparison, the Northeast and Northwest regions have relatively weak awareness of Guilin tourism on the Internet. Finally, it is found that GDP and per capita disposable income of urban residents have an impact on the attention of Guilin tourism network. © 2022 IEEE.

The adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) increases the need for charging stations, especially the public charging infrastructure. Tailored to various land use functions within various regions, the urban planning schemes for such infrastructure should be properly designed to improve user experience. This paper proposes a multi-stage stochastic optimization approach for spatial deployment of charging stations with the consideration of four urban design schemes to meet uncertain charging demands in multiple future years. To capture the increases of EV adoptions, a scenario tree is generated based on the collected data in a specific region in Tucson, Arizona, and both flow-capture location and location-allocation models are applied to predict the charging demands. The expected costs associated with such deployments will be minimized while the user experience with respect to urban design schemes will be maximized. Optimizing the Synergistic Coexistence of Built Environment and Waterfront Public Space, a Quantitative Study in Shenzhen Bay Area

Waterfront public spaces and urban built environments are focal points in urban planning, yet more scholars need to focus on the coupling relationship between the two. Only through the coordinated development of these two can urban sustainability be promoted. Using vitality as a medium and drawing from the theory of coupling in physics, the study quantitatively analyzes the coupling and coordination degree between the built environment of 62 research units in the Shenzhen Bay waterfront area and the vitality of the adjacent waterfront public spaces. This is achieved by leveraging the population location big data from Baidu Huiyan, and vector data from Amap. The study finds that: (1) The overall coupling coordination degree between the public space vitality and built environment in the Shenzhen Bay waterfront area is relatively high, although the spatial distribution is uneven. (2) The built environment systems and waterfront public spaces of slightly and moderately discoordination units are predominantly in the process of development and construction, which manifests as a need for more completeness in the overall urban development. (3) Research units in an elementary coordination state mainly display that a moderate-intensity built environment has not spurred the vitality of waterfront public spaces. More units in a moderate coordination state show a relative lag in the urban built environment system. (4) Advanced coordinated and optimally coordinated study units are coordinated and co-developed with each other but can have a siphoning effect, leading to a less coordinated phenomenon in neighboring regions. © 2024 Hong Jiao et al.

In order to objectively quantify the visual perception of traditional village landscape,50university students were recruited to make eye-tracking experiment of different landscape elements in the countryside and analyze the data to assess the attractiveness of different ***-tracking experiment quantifies the experimental *** experimental results show that mountain and landscape structure can mostly attract attention of observers in actual observation process,but this result is different from subjective preference of *** comparing the results of eye-tracking experiment and questionnaire,it can be concluded that the observation time of landscape elements depends on the proportion of elements in space;subjective preference depends on the observation time of landscape ***,eye-tracking data can assess subjective preference of observers for the landscape,and then have a certain guiding role for the planning and construction of rural landscape.
