Metaheuristic optimization algorithms have become popular choice for solving complex and intricate problems which are difficult to solve by traditional methods. Particle swarm optimization has shown an effective performance for solving variant benchmark and real-world optimization problems. However, it suffers from premature convergence because of quick losing of diversity. In order to enhance its performance, this paper proposes an improved particle swarm algorithm with dynamically changing velocity(DCV). Evolution speed and agglomeration degree coefficient are introduced into DCV to achieve a trade-off between exploration and exploitation abilities. The worst particles are recorded to make particles stay away from the best position in the evolution process. The velocity is updated according the position of the global best position, the worst position, particles previous best position, evolution speed and degree of agglomeration coefficient at each iteration. In order to verify the validity of the proposed algorithm in this paper, several typical functions are employed for testing, the results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper obtains a more promising performance than several other algorithms.

This paper deals with the synthesis of fuzzy controller applied to the induction motor with a guaranteed model reference tracking performance. First, the Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy model is used to approximate the nonlinear system in the synchronous d-q frame rotating with field-oriented control strategy. Then, a fuzzy state feedback controller is designed to reduce the tracking error by minimizing the disturbance level. The proposed controller is based on a T-S reference model in which the desired trajectory has been specified. The inaccessible rotor flux is estimated by a T-S fuzzy observer. The developed approach for the controller design is based on the synthesis of an augmented fuzzy model which regroups the model of induction machine, fuzzy observer, and reference model. The gains of the observer and controller are obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. Finally, simulation and experimental results are given to show the performance of the observer-based tracking controller.

In contrast with UKF, the standard CKF can solve high-dimensional nonlinear filter problems. However, when the nonlinear systematic dimension increases, the accuracy of CKF will decline and the computational cost will increase rapidlly. Two-Stage Kalman filter can solve this problem, but it only applies to linear systems. This paper proposes a two-stage Cubature Kalman filter (TSCKF) which can solve high-dimensional nonlinear systems with random bias. The estimate of the TSCKF can be expressed as the output of the bias free filter and bias filter. The bias free filter doesn't consider the bias and its output is corrected by the bias filter. In comparison with Augmented state Cubature Kalman Filter (ASCKF), the TSCKF avoids dimension disaster effectively and has little computation to solve high-dimensional nonlinear filter problem.

In this paper, we study a transmit null-steering beamforming problem for wireless sensor networks in uncertain communication environment. Given a desired receiver direction,the system requires to avoid the unknown eavesdroppers as *** this case, we adjust both the sensors distribution and phase offsets such that beamforming is achieved at the desired direction,and meanwhile the communication of all the other directions is suppressed, which substantially reduces the risk of information theft by eavesdroppers. The Particle Swarm Optimization（PSO）algorithm is used to solve this constraint problem.

We determine the maximum amount of work extractable in finite time by a demon performing continuous measurements on a quadratic Hamiltonian system subjected to thermal fluctuations, in terms of the information extracted from the system. The maximum work demon is found to apply a high-gain continuous feedback involving a Kalman-Bucy estimate of the system state and operates in nonequilibrium. A simple and concrete electrical implementation of the feedback protocol is proposed, which allows for analytic expressions of the flows of energy, entropy, and information inside the demon. This let us show that any implementation of the demon must necessarily include an external power source, which we prove both from classical thermodynamics arguments and from a version of Landauer's memory erasure argument extended to nonequilibrium linear systems.

Nowadays parallel manipulators are used widely in bioengineering applications; this leads to many exciting expectations as well as challenges. The kinematic analysis of parallel manipulators with their differential kinematics yielding the Jacobian in a closed form is not a trivial task. In this paper a parallel manipulator based mobility assistive device called EJADII is analyzed to determine forward kinematics, inverse kinematics and closed-form Jacobian. An Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) is trained to estimate the Jacobian. This system would be useful when determination of the Jacobian in a closed-form is difficult to determine. The human motion during sit to stand captured by VICON experiment is used with two assisting scenarios to train and verify this system. computer simulations show relatively good results of the proposed system.

This paper deals with the problem of the state estimation and the sensor faults detection for nonlinear perturbed systems described by Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy models with unmeasurable premise variables. Indeed, a T-S observer is synthesized, in descriptor form, to estimate both the system states and the sensor faults simultaneously. The idea of the proposed approach is to introduce the sensor fault as an auxiliary variable in the state vector. Besides, the T-S model with unmeasurable premise variables is reduced to a perturbed model with measurable variables. Convergence conditions are established with Lyapunov theory and the H∞ performance in order to guarantee the best robustness to disturbances. These conditions are expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. The parameters of the observer are computed using the solution of the LMI conditions. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the design procedures. Simulation results show the satisfactory performances.

In this paper, we investigate fundamental limits for physical implementations of the Kalman-Bucy filter for state estimation of a class of linear port-Hamiltonian systems. In particular, for the studied class of systems we show the Kalman-Bucy filter itself is a port-Hamiltonian systems and by invoking the second law of thermodynamics, we can characterize the external power supply needed to generate an optimal state estimate. We also show how the required external power supply can be decreased by allowing the filter to perturb the measured system to a larger extent. Hence, it is possible to decrease the so-called back action of the filter by spending more energy. We illustrate our results using passive electric circuits.
