As continuous-flow microfluidic biochips technology rapidly advances, its automated synthesis methods require adapting to increasingly complex and stringent biochemical applications. In particular, with the introduction of time-sensitive bioassays, in this work, we present a timing-driven high-level synthesis method to optimize the resource efficiency of bioassays considering the time constraints. Specifically, we investigate the existing forms of time constraints and propose a corresponding flexible modeling approach based on reaction-control which can achieve downward compatibility for physical design. Additionally, we also analyze the impact of storage and wash on time constraints. The experimental results show that our method achieves efficient execution and low devices cost while satisfying time constraints.

Currently, screen content video applications are increasingly widespread in our daily lives. The latest Screen Content Coding (SCC) standard, known as Versatile Video Coding (VVC) SCC, employs screen content Coding Modes (CMs) selection. While VVC SCC achieves high coding efficiency, its coding complexity poses a significant obstacle to the further widespread adoption of screen content video. Hence, it is crucial to enhance the coding speed of VVC SCC. In this paper, we propose a fast mode and splitting decision for Intra prediction in VVC SCC. Specifically, we initially exploit deep learning techniques to predict content types for all CUs. Subsequently, we examine CM distributions of different content types to predict candidate CMs for CUs. We then introduce early skip and early terminate CM decisions for different content types of CUs to further eliminate unlikely CMs. Finally, we develop Block-based Differential Pulse-Code Modulation (BDPCM) early termination to improve coding speed. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can improve coding speed by $34.95 \%$ on average while maintaining almost the same coding efficiency.

Mobile Edge computing (MEC) is a new computing paradigm that enables cloud computing and information technology (IT) services to be delivered at the network’s edge. By shifting the load of cloud computing to individual local servers, MEC helps meet the requirements of ultralow latency, localized data processing, and extends the potential of Internet of Things (IoT) for end-users. However, the crosscutting nature of MEC and the multidisciplinary components necessary for its deployment have presented additional security and privacy concerns. Fortunately, Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms can cope with excessively unpredictable and complex data, which offers a distinct advantage in dealing with sophisticated and developing adversaries in the security industry. Hence, in this paper we comprehensively provide a survey of security and privacy in MEC from the perspective of AI. On the one hand, we use European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) MEC reference architecture as our based framework while merging the Software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) to better illustrate a serviceable platform of MEC. On the other hand, we focus on new security and privacy issues, as well as potential solutions from the viewpoints of AI. Finally, we comprehensively discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with applying AI to MEC security and privacy as possible future research directions. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Ultrasound images are vital for medical diagnostics but often suffer from information loss and blurred details due to limitations in imaging systems and sensor technologies. Many researchers have proposed super-resolution algorithms to enhance medical images. But existing super-resolution methods struggle with the uneven distribution of noise and clarity. To address this, we propose a super-resolution algorithm for medical images based on multi-scale feature aggregation Leveraging the architecture of Unet as our primary framework, our method enhances output details through multi-scale hole convolutions. Taking into consideration the characteristics of ultrasonic images, we propose a frequency domain-based module to enhances edge information while effectively denoising the image. Furthermore, to improve the quality of the output images, we introduce an image processing module grounded in global information. The module ensures clarity while considering the overarching context, thereby preserving global consistency and enhancing output quality. We experiment on three datasets to demonstrate the effectiveness of our model. Additionally, significant improvements in medical image segmentation are observed, proving the practicability of our proposed approach.

Some of the latest released Code Large Language Models (Code LLMs) have been trained on repository-level code data, enabling them to perceive repository structures and utilize cross-file code information. This capability allows us to directly concatenate the content of repository code files in prompts to achieve repository-level code completion. However, in real development scenarios, directly concatenating all code repository files in a prompt can easily exceed the context window of Code LLMs, leading to a significant decline in completion performance. Additionally, overly long prompts can increase completion latency, negatively impacting the user experience. In this study, we conducted extensive experiments, including completion error analysis, topology dependency analysis, and cross-file content analysis, to investigate the factors affecting repository-level code completion. Based on the conclusions drawn from these preliminary experiments, we proposed a strategy called Hierarchical Context Pruning (HCP) to construct high-quality completion prompts. We applied the HCP to six Code LLMs and evaluated them on the CrossCodeEval dataset. The experimental results showed that, compared to previous methods, the prompts constructed using our HCP strategy achieved higher completion accuracy on five out of six Code LLMs. Additionally, the HCP managed to keep the prompt length around 8k tokens (whereas the full repository code is approximately 50k tokens), significantly improving completion throughput. Federated Learning (FL) is a distributed machine learning technology that is extensive applications in smart healthcare, since it allows multiple medical institutions to jointly train medical diagnostic models without sharing their local sensitive dataset with others. Despite its benefits, FL is susceptible to source inference attacks and model poisoning. To avoid these issues, we propose a federated learning framework for smart healthcare that preserves privacy and employs certificateless ring signatures to counteract potential attacks. During the collaborative training process of the FL model, certificateless ring signatures are used to obscure the origin of parameter updates, ensuring the anonymity of the parameter sources. This approach has the advantage of being computationally efficient due to no complicated pairing operations. Furthermore, compared with the previous certificateless ring signature schemes, our proposed scheme is more effective in reducing the success rate of source inference attacks, and is efficient in terms of computation and communication overhead. © 2024, The Authors. Deep Neural Networks (DNN) have achieved extraordinary success in many visual recognition tasks. Visual Transformer (ViT), which is derived from Natural Language Processing (NLP), has achieved state-of-the-art (SOTA) results on many tasks due to its capability of capturing long-range dependencies in visual data. However, Existing ViT models are challenging to deploy on devices due to their massive computational consumption, huge memory overhead, and reliance on large datasets. In this work, we address these issues by replacing some computationally expensive and memory-intensive modules in ViT with standard Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) modules. Firstly, we propose an efficient Self-Attention module called SDG-Attention (SDGA) with linear space and time complexity, and an economical FeedForward Network (FFN) composed of group convolution and shuffle channel (SFFN). Then, we develop a lightweight CNN model with SDGA and SFFN, SDGFormer, which embraces several priors of ViT and is LayerNorm-Free. We evaluate SDGFormer on ImageNet-1K and Mini-ImageNet, and the SDGFormer-S achieves a comparable top-1 accuracy of 77.6% on ImageNet-1K with 9.1M parameters and 1.6 GFlops regimes. Moreover, our SDGFormer-T achieves SOTA performance on Mini-ImageNet with 83.3% accuracy, demonstrating good generalization on small datasets without extra data.

Towards Unified Token Learning for Vision-Language Tracking

In this paper, we present a simple, flexible and effective vision-language (VL) tracking pipeline, termed MMTrack, which casts VL tracking as a token generation task. Traditional paradigms address VL tracking task indirectly with sophisticated prior designs, making them over-specialize on the features of specific architectures or mechanisms. In contrast, our proposed framework serializes language description and bounding box into a sequence of discrete tokens. In this new design paradigm, all token queries are required to perceive the desired target and directly predict spatial coordinates of the target in an auto-regressive manner. The design without other prior modules avoids multiple sub-tasks learning and hand-designed loss functions, significantly reducing the complexity of VL tracking modeling and allowing our tracker to use a simple cross-entropy loss as unified optimization objective for VL tracking task. Extensive experiments on TNL2K, LaSOT, LaSOText and OTB99-Lang benchmarks show that our approach achieves promising results, compared to other state-of-the-arts. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. The rapid development of photo-realistic face generation methods has raised significant concerns in society and academia, highlighting the urgent need for robust and generalizable face forgery detection (FFD) techniques. Although existing approaches mainly capture face forgery patterns using image modality, other modalities like fine-grained noises and texts are not fully explored, which limits the generalization capability of the model. In addition, most FFD methods tend to identify facial images generated by GAN, but struggle to detect unseen diffusion-synthesized ones. To address the limitations, we aim to leverage the cutting-edge foundation model, contrastive language-image pre-training (CLIP), to achieve generalizable diffusion face forgery detection (DFFD). In this paper, we propose a novel multi-modal fine-grained CLIP (MFCLIP) model, which mines comprehensive and fine-grained forgery traces across image-noise modalities via language-guided face forgery representation learning, to facilitate the advancement of DFFD. Specifically, we devise a fine-grained language encoder (FLE) that extracts fine global language features from hierarchical text prompts. We design a multi-modal vision encoder (MVE) to capture global image forgery embeddings as well as fine-grained noise forgery patterns extracted from the richest patch, and integrate them to mine general visual forgery traces. Moreover, we build an innovative plug-and-play sample pair attention (SPA) method to emphasize relevant negative pairs and suppress irrelevant ones, allowing cross-modality sample pairs to conduct more flexible alignment. Extensive experiments and visualizations show that our model outperforms the state of the arts on different settings like cross-generator, cross-forgery, and cross-dataset evaluations.
