Natural gas pipeline leaks pose severe risks, leading to substantial economic losses and potential hazards to human safety. In this study, we develop an accurate model for the early prediction of pipeline leaks. To the best of our knowledge, unlike previous anomaly detection, this is the first application to use internal pipeline data for early prediction of leaks. The modeling process addresses two main challenges: long-term dependencies and sample imbalance. First, we introduce a dilated convolution-based prediction model to capture long-term dependencies, as dilated convolution expands the model’s receptive field without added computational cost. Second, to mitigate sample imbalance, we propose the MKTCN model, which incorporates the Kolmogorov-Arnold Network as the fully connected layer in a dilated convolution model, enhancing network generalization. Finally, we validate the MKTCN model through extensive experiments on two real-world datasets. Results demonstrate that MKTCN outperforms in generalization and classification, particularly under severe data imbalance, and effectively predicts leaks up to 5000 seconds in advance. Overall, the MKTCN model represents a significant advancement in early pipeline leak prediction, providing robust generalization and improved modeling of the long-term dependencies inherent in multi-dimensional time-series data. In the study of complex high dimensional nonlinear systems, the process of simplifying and reducing the order of models inevitably results in the loss of critical nonlinear characteristics. The spectral sub-manifold (SSM) method ensures the preservation of the nonlinear terms of the system when reducing the dimensionality of a high-dimensional nonlinear system to a low-dimensional spectral subspace. In this paper, we propose for the first time to use the SSM method for the dimensionality reduction analysis of a continuous system of the Ring Truss Antenna System obtained by modelling based on the Hamilton principle. The initial step is to construct a parametric mapping of the system, which involves transforming the system’s equations from the rectangular coordinate form to the modal coordinate form. Secondly, the Forced Response(FRC) Curves are plotted based on the reduced system in order to identify the periodic solution of the system and to predict the bifurcation. The location and number of bifurcation points of the system can be directly observed from the FRC. Finally, the computational efficiency of the FRC curves plotted by the SSM method is 102–103 times higher than that of collocation methods and harmonic balance approaches. It can conclude that the SSM method is not only an effective method for the dimensionality reduction of high-dimensional nonlinear systems, but also can accurately and efficiently analyse the nonlinear vibration characteristics of the system. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature B.V. 2025.

This study proposes a Resistant Q-Learning (RQL) algorithm to address the problems of low efficiency and slow convergence when mobile robots perform optimal path planning in unknown complex environments. The algorithm learns by utilizing the estimation deviation of the Q-values in Q-Learning. According to the number of updates of the Q-values estimation, the estimation deviation and learning rate are dynamically adjusted. By comparing this algorithm to Q-learning, the adapt-ability and convergence speed are greatly improved. The RQL algorithm is implemented on a mobile robot for path planning, and related experiments are conducted on simulated maps. The effectiveness and utility of the RQL are demonstrated by the simulation results.

By facilitating unsupervised clustering with data augmentation, the clustering performance of deep embedded clustering has been significantly enhanced in DEC-DA. However, how to selectively augment valuable data and better present the distribution characteristics of the data is still a challenge. To fill the gap, this paper develops a deep embedded clustering with selective data augmentation. Firstly, the proposed method defines two typical sample distribution patterns. Then, the distribution pattern is determined by extracting the samples’ distribution characteristics. Finally, according to the determined pattern, the samples are probabilistically selected and augmented under a possibility distribution function. The effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed algorithm are demonstrated by its competitive performance on UCR benchmarks and real-world applications. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper investigates the consensus problem of multi-agent systems (MASs) with two-timescales characteristics, which is coped with the singular perturbation technique. The distributed impulsive controller is proposed, where the impulse instants are asynchronous among the agents. A method of average impulsive interval is introduced to regulate the frequency of impulses. By utilizing the singular perturbation parameter-dependent Lyapunov function, some sufficient conditions are obtained to synchronize a two-timescale MAS. Finally, the numerical simulation is verified to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper focuses on the resilient event-triggered control issue of networked Markov jump systems (MJSs) affected by Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks, which is limited by frequency and duration. A resilient event-triggered mechanism (ETM) is constructed to resist DoS attacks and reduce resource consumption. Since the introduction of ETM leads leads to asynchronous phenomena, the mode estimation scheme is taken to estimate the unknown mode information. In light of such a scheme, the underlying system with event-triggered controller is established. Then, by the view of the multiple Lyapunov functions, sufficient conditions are obtained to achieve the stability of networked MJSs under DoS attacks. Based on those conditions, the controller gains and the weighted matrices are determined by using matrix similarity transformation technique. Finally, a simulation example declares the validity of the developed results. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

Distributed output formation tracking control problem for heterogeneous multi-agent systems(HMASs) was studied in this *** HMASs include multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) and unmanned ground vehicles(UGVs) with nonholonomic constraints.A formation tracking protocol was proposed for the follower UAVs and UGVs to track the virtual leader's output trajectory while keeping a predefined time-varying *** this protocol,a distributed observer was first designed for each follower to estimate the states of the ***,a local formation controller based on feedback linearization was designed for UAVs,while a nonlinear controller was presented for UGVs to tackle the nonholonomic *** effectiveness of this protocol was proved by the Lyapunov stability ***,a cooperative searching experiment with two quadrotors and a wheeled vehicle was performed under the ultra wide band(UWB) positioning system,and the experiment results matched the simulation well.

This paper is concerned with the cooperative distributed optimization problem of a specific type of double-integrator multi-agent systems affected by DoS attacks. Firstly, a structure for attack detection and topology recovery is introduced to eliminate the effects of DoS attacks. Then, to estimate the state of the original system, a set of second-order homogeneous filters is designed to generate necessary state esti-mates. Furthermore, based on new coordinate transformations, the backstepping method is used to reconstruct the controller. According to the designed scheme, the output of each agent is able to converge to the global optimal solution. Ultimately, the feasibility of the theory is verified through simulation.
