A learning based approach is proposed to calibrate the geometric distortion of a Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera. Our method is flexible as it requires only a ToF camera and a standard camera calibration chessboard. We treat the noise model of a ToF camera as a black box, and employ random forest to automatically learn the underlying unique noise model. The geometric property of the point-cloud can be effectively restored by the learned distortion model. The method can be used in a range of computer vision applications including e.g. hand pose estimation. © 2018, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The iterated prisoner's dilemma(IPD) is an ideal model for analyzing interactions between agents in complex networks. It has attracted wide interest in the development of novel strategies since the success of tit-for-tat in Axelrod's tournament. This paper studies a new adaptive strategy of IPD in different complex networks, where agents can learn and adapt their strategies through reinforcement learning method. A temporal difference learning method is applied for designing the adaptive strategy to optimize the decision making process of the agents. Previous studies indicated that mutual cooperation is hard to emerge in the IPD. Therefore, three examples which based on square lattice network and scale-free network are provided to show two features of the adaptive strategy. First, the mutual cooperation can be achieved by the group with adaptive agents under scale-free network, and once evolution has converged mutual cooperation, it is unlikely to shift. Secondly, the adaptive strategy can earn a better payoff compared with other strategies in the square network. The analytical properties are discussed for verifying evolutionary stability of the adaptive strategy.

For speech emotion recognition, emotional feature set with high dimension may produce redundant features and influence the recognition accuracy. To solve this problem and obtain the optimal emotional feature subset of speech, a feature dimension reduction based on linear discriminant analysis is proposed. According to the confusion degree between different basic emotions, an emotion recognition method based on support vector machine decision tree is proposed. Experiment on speaker-dependent speech emotion recognition using Chinese speech database from institute of automation of Chinese academy of sciences is performed and a speech emotion recognition system is presented, where standard feature sets of the INTER-SPEECH and classic classifiers are used in comparative experiments respectively. Experimental results show that the proposal achieves 84.39% recognition accuracy on average. By proposal, it would be fast and efficient to discriminate emotional states of diverse speakers from speech, and it would make it possible to realize the interaction between speaker and computer/robot in the future.

In modern power systems, load frequency control(LFC) scheme usually operates in the discrete mode, while the most existing LFC schemes are designed in the continuous mode, such that those LFC schemes do not work usually in their best manner in practice. In this paper, a method of state-feedback controller design of load frequency control(LFC) for one–area system is discussed in continuous-discrete mode via sampled–data control scheme. At first, the model of LFC is constructed in continuous-discrete mode by using the input delay method. Then, a new method is present to design a state–feedback ***, a case study is given to show the effectiveness and the benefits of the proposed method.

In order to realize the flexible automatic design of controllers, this paper proposes a library-based controller design method with bi-level optimization of structure and parameters. The controller with optimized structure is composed by components which are selected from a component library. A binary string is used to express a controller structure, where each bit represents the connection relationship between two links. The controller structure and parameters are optimized in a hierarchical manner by the binary Geometric Differential Evolution Algorithm in the outer layer and an advanced Differential Evolution algorithm variant named JADE in the inner layer, respectively. Simulation and experiment of a magnetic levitation ball control system have been done to verify the performance of the presented controller. Results demonstrate the feasibility and superiority of the proposed method.

The resonant cavity is an important component of Overhauser magnetometer sensor. Its function is to make the working substance generate dynamic nuclear polarization effect in the sensor. An alternative design of resonant cavity based on the birdcage coil structure was proposed to make the resonant frequency in accordance with the polarization frequency of the working substance. The structure and equivalent circuit of resonant cavity were analyzed. The model of resonant cavity was established and S-parameter is calculated to verify the frequency consistency of the resonant cavity and working substance. In addition, output signal experiment and simultaneous comparison testing of sensor prototype were conducted. Overall, this design has the advantages of high performance and strong anti-interference. © 2018 IEEE.

Wheel-quadrupled combines individual benefits of wheeled robot and legged robot and has excellent adaption to terrain,which has become research highlights of robot fields these *** this paper,the basic static walking pattern of robot is determined,and the attitude angles and the position of COG（center of gravity） are adjusted to enhance the stability and ability of robot to traverse the rough *** order to simplify and establish model for rough terrain,we propose an estimation method of terrain based on the position of stance phase and the body attitude,as well as calculate the target attitude angle of the trunk in this *** then the smooth transition of foot-laying positions is guaranteed by planning the adjustment ***,the simulation results illustrate that the proposed method is able to adapt robot to different types of unknown rough terrains.

This technical note studies a class of distributed nonsmooth convex consensus optimization problem. The cost function is a summation of local cost functions which are convex but nonsmooth. Each of the local cost functions consists of a twice differentiable (smooth) convex function and two lower semi-continuous (nonsmooth) convex functions. We call this problem as single-smooth plus double-nonsmooth (SSDN) problem. Under mild conditions, we propose a distributed double proximal primal-dual optimization algorithm. The double proximal operator is designed to deal with the difficulty caused by the unproximable property of the summation of those two nonsmooth functions. Besides, it can also guarantee that the proposed algorithm is locally Lipschitz continuous. An auxiliary variable in the double proximal operator is introduced to estimate the subgradient of the second nonsmooth function. Theoretically, we conduct the convergence analysis by employing Lyapunov stability theory. It shows that the proposed algorithm can make the states achieve consensus at the optimal point. In the end, nontrivial simulations are presented and the results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Generalization of integral inequalities and (c_1,c_1) stability of neutral differential equations with time-varying delays

A uniform stability analysis is developed for a type of neutral delays differential equations which depend on more general nonlinear integral inequalities. Many original investigations and results are obtained. Firstly, generations of two integral nonlinear inequalities are presented, which are very effective in dealing with the complicated integro-differential inequalities whose variable exponents are greater than zero. Compared with existed integral inequalities, those proposed here can be applied to more complicated differential equations, such as time-varying delay neutral differential equations. Secondly, the notions of (ω, Ω) uniform stable and (ω, Ω) uniform asymptotically stable, especially (c1, c1) uniform stable and (c1, c1) uniform asymptotically stable, are presented. Sufficient conditions on about (c1, c1) uniform stable and (c1, c1) uniform asymptotically stable of time-varying delay neutral differential equations are established by the proposed integral inequalities. Finally, a complex numerical example is presented to illustrate the main results effectively. The above work allows to provide further applications on the proposed stability analysis and control system design for different nonlinear systems. © 2017 Beijing Institute of Aerospace Information.

Adaptive Dynamic Programming（ADP） with critic-actor architecture is a useful way to achieve online learning *** algorithm Gaussian-Kernel Adaptive Dynamic Programming（GK-ADP） that has been developed before has a kind of two-phase iteration,which not only approximates value function,but also optimizes hyper-parameters ***,just like most iteration algorithms are applied in practice,the scale of sample set will increase as the complexity of the system increases,and it will induce a high computation *** order to speed up computation,a practical acceleration method using parallel computation for GK-ADP is presented in this *** realize parallel computation,a high efficient configuration based on CUDA is designed,in which a group of GPUs work in parallel to compute the most complex part of *** comparison test illustrates that the computation burden which hinders GK-ADP’s application is reduced to a large extent when the parallel computing is introduced.
