With the universal application of camera in intelligent vehicles, visual place recognition has become a major problem in intelligent vehicle localization. The traditional solution is to make visual description of place images using hand-crafted feature for matching places, but this description method is not very good for extreme variability, especially for seasonal transformation. In this paper, we propose a new method based on convolutional neural network (CNN), by putting images into the pre-trained network model to get automatically learned image descriptors, and through some operations of pooling, fusion and binarization to optimize them, then the similarity result of place recognition is presented with the Hamming distance of the place sequence. In the experimental part, we compare our method with some state-of-the-art algorithms, FABMAP, ABLE-M and SeqSLAM, to illustrate its advantages. The experimental results show that our method based on CNN achieves better performance than other methods on the representative public datasets. © 2018 IEEE.

This paper we investigates the problem of stability and bifurcation of fractional-order financial system time-delay via the Lyapunov stability judgment method and application of impulse control method. Finally, a numerical simulation example is provided to verify the effectiveness and the benefit of the proposed stability and bifurcation criterion.

This paper presents a trajectory tracking control strategy based on the finite element method for a planar three-link underactuated manipulator with a passive third joint. From the mechanical structure, the manipulator can be thought of as composed of two parts. The first part is the first link of the manipulator, which is a single link manipulator system. The second part consists of the remaining two links, which can be seen as a plananr Pendubot. First, a finite element model of the planar Pendubot is built by using COMSOL, and the coupling relationship between its active link and its passive link is analyzed. Then, two servo controllers (A and B) with the same structure are designed for two active links of the manipulator, respectively. The servo controller A is directly applied to control the angular velocity of the first link of the manipulator rotating with a constant speed, which makes the end-point of the manipulator move along the trajectory direction. Next, a fuzzy system is designed based on the coupling relationship of the planar Pendubot to calculate the target angular velocity of the second link of the manipulator according to the tracking error and its change rate. The servo controller B is applied to control the angular velocity of the second link of the manipulator, which makes the tracking error converge to zero. Finally, Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and the robustness of the proposed control strategy.

Facing the demand of the efficiency and safety of drilling process, it is necessary to find the optimal drilling trajectory in the complex geological environment. To solve this multi-objective optimization problem, non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA-II) is applied. And Linear sum weighted method is applied at the same time for comparison. Firstly, the numerical model of a sidestracking horizontal well trajectory is established by nature curve method. Constraints subjected to engineering conditions and objective functions are discussed. Then, as decision parameters, the build rate and the turn rate are optimized. Finally, optimal solutions distributed on the Pareto front uniformly are obtained.

The study presents a general framework for discovering underlying Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) using measured spatiotemporal data. The method, called Sparse Spatiotemporal System Discovery (S3d), decides which physical terms are necessary and which can be removed (because they are physically negligible in the sense that they do not affect the dynamics too much) from a pool of candidate functions. The method is built on the recent development of Sparse Bayesian Learning;which enforces the sparsity in the to-be-identified PDEs, and therefore can balance the model complexity and fitting error with theoretical guarantees. Without leveraging prior knowledge or assumptions in the discovery process, we use an automated approach to discover ten types of PDEs, including the famous Navier-Stokes and sine-Gordon equations, from simulation data alone. Moreover, we demonstrate our data-driven discovery process with the complex Ginzburg-Landau Equation (CGLE) using data measured from a traveling-wave convection experiment. Our machine discovery approach presents solutions that has the potential to inspire, support and assist physicists for the establishment of physical laws from measured spatiotemporal data, especially in notorious fields that are often too complex to allow a straightforward establishment of physical law, such as biophysics, fluid dynamics, neuroscience or nonlinear optics. State estimation is a core objective in cyber-physical systems. In the state estimation problem over linear systems, the Kalman filter is the standard solution. The filter is the format on which the solutions to subsequent estimation problems are based. Among these problems are the estimation problem in the presence of packet drops and estimation problem involving event-based triggers. We study in this paper both phenomena simultaneously. In an attempt to find the Kalman-like filter, which proves the Gaussianity of the state and offers a set of update equations, our paper shows that no such filter exists. More precisely, one cannot find an event-based trigger such that under possible packet drops, the state variable remains a Gaussian variable. This conclusion can be reasonably extended to a more general setting.

Stability of a networked predictive control system subject to network-induced delay and data dropout is investigated in this study. By modeling the closed-loop system as a switched system with an upper-triangular structure, a necessary and sufficient stability criterion is developed. From the criterion, it also can be seen that separation principle holds for networked predictive control systems. A numerical example is provided to confirm the validity and effectiveness of the obtained results.

In this paper, a model is constructed to investigate the mechanism induced quorum sensing (QS) by coexisting of small RNA and signal molecule. The QS network model regulated by small RNAs is studied. The condition of the stability of the QS network is considered by using Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion. The conditions for the existence of Hopf bifurcation are obtained. Then, a linear feedback control is designed to make the system asymptotically stable. The numerical simulation is used to verify the results of theoretical analysis.

In this paper, we study the problem of finding the least square solutions of over-determined linear algebraic equations over networks in a distributed manner. Each node has access to one of the linear equations and holds a dynamic state. We first propose a distributed least square solver over connected undirected interaction graphs and establish a necessary and sufficient on the step-size under which the algorithm exponentially converges to the least square solution. Next, we develop a distributed least square solver over strongly connected directed graphs and show that the proposed algorithm exponentially converges to the least square solution provided the step-size is sufficiently small. Moreover, we develop a finite-time least square solver by equipping the proposed algorithms with a finite-time decentralized computation mechanism.
