In this paper, we consider the problem of vehicular positioning enhancement with emerging connected vehicles (CV) technologies. In order to actually describe the scenario, the Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) filter is used for depicting varies of observation models. A CV-enhanced IMM filtering approach is proposed to locate a vehicle by data fusion from both coarse GPS data and the Doppler frequency shifts (DFS) measured from dedicated short-range communications (DSRC) radio signals. Simulation results state the effectiveness of the proposed approach called CV-IMM-EKF. © 2018, ICST Institute for Computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) has emerged as an increasingly dominant technology for future connected vehicle and vehicular networks, where the focus of the development of VANET lies in the standardization of message transmission and dissemination via multi-hop broadcasting. However, the current communication protocols concerning VANET face many challenges, including data flooding and collision, transmission delay and other problems. Most of the challenges are closely related to next-hop selection. Therefore, this paper proposes a new routing protocol named REliable and Fast Forwarding (REFF) to optimize the selection of nodes in VANET. In this protocol, node filtering and node evaluation are two main steps. Distance between previous node and candidate node, relative velocity between previous node and candidate nodes, included angle between direction of target node’s velocity and candidate node’s velocity and transmission power of candidate node are adopted as indexes to help select a specific node as the next hop using Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). By using this technique, the number of candidates as next-hop is largely reduced, avoiding the data flooding and resulting transmission relay. In addition, simulations based on experiments are done to verify the feasibility. The results show that message achieves a faster and more reliable transmission using REFF. © 2018, ICST Institute for Computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Fatigue driving might affect the traffic safety when the vehicles are on the cruising state in highway. Trying to solve this problem, this paper uses the movement pattern of the fish to the vehicles fleet, and develops a model of vehicle group with realistic restrictions based on the existed fish algorithms, the mobile behavioral model and cluster behavior model, and then demonstrates the feasibility of applying the fish behavior to the cooperative movement of vehicle groups through analyzing the trajectory, velocity and spacing of vehicles. © 2018, ICST Institute for Computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

FPGA demonstration for WLAN-OFDM baseband receiver

The FPGA demonstration for WLAN-OFDM baseband receiver is presented in this paper. In this OFDM baseband receiver, the CORDIC computing is employed to realize various arithmetics of baseband signal process and then to reduce the computational complexity of baseband receiver. For a large open office channel with 100 ns RMS delay spread, the measured EVMs of WLAN-OFDM baseband receiver are −13.3, −16.6, −25.4 and −31.0 dB for BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM and 64-QAM, respectively. Finally, the physical design of WLAN-OFDM baseband receiver with 0.18 µm 1P6M CMOS technology indicates that the core area and power consumption are 1.2 mm2 (1094 µm × 1092 µm) and 33.2 mW, respectively, with supply voltage of 1.8 V and operating clock of 40 MHz. © 2018, Ubiquitous International. It is a tough task for teachers to answer all questions from students effectively and *** this paper,we design and implements an intelligent question answering system using Natural Language Processing,template classification,support vector *** system also calculates the similarity between the question and answer pairs by cosine similarity algorithm,and returns the most similar *** the user is not satisfied with the answer,the system will write the question into the public section to fall back on other *** answer will be evaluated and added to the QA base if it is passed with the corresponding *** that the questions and answers in the QA base continue to *** use the QA base of a network forum as the basic library to carry out the *** implementation and experimental results indicate that the proposed approach is achievable.

With the astronomical growth of online video population, the video recommendation system is crucial for users to locate videos fitting their interests. The collaborative filtering (CF) realizing personalized recommendation by analyzing users' historical view records is currently the most prevalent algorithm adopted by existing systems. Nevertheless, video recommendation performance can be improved for most cases, particularly the one with cold-start problem, if additional information is involved. In this article, we propose an AP-based Context-Aware (APCA) recommendation scheme on top of the traditional factor-based CF algorithm by utilizing the information of access points which has not been explored yet by existing works. The underlying principle is that users' view preferences are expected to be different with different contexts, e.g., hotel, home, public areas, which can be inferred by mining the information of access points via which users launch video requests. With the data collected from Tencent Video, a leading online video provider in China, we present a measurement study to show user view preferences in different contexts before our APCA algorithm is introduced. Experiments are executed driven by the trace data collected from Tencent Video to validate the effectiveness of our scheme in improving recommendation performance. © 2017 ACM.

Itrace: An implicit trust inference method for trust-aware collaborative filtering

The growth of Internet commerce has stimulated the use of collaborative filtering (CF) algorithms as recommender systems. A CF algorithmrecommends items of interest to the target user by leveraging the votes given by other similar users. In a standard CF framework, it is assumed that the credibility of every voting user is exactly the same with respect to the target user. This assumption is not satisfied and may lead to misleading recommendations in practice. A natural countermeasure is to design a trust-aware CF algorithm, which can take account of the difference in the credibilities of the voting users when performing CF. To this end, this paper presents a trust inference approach, which can predict the implicit trust of the target user on every voting user from a sparse explicit trust matrix. Then an improvedCF algorithmtermed iTrace is proposed, which employs both the explicit and the predicted implicit trust to provide recommendations. An empirical evaluation on a public dataset demonstrates that the proposed algorithm provides a significant improvement in recommendation quality in terms of mean absolute error. A z-matching on a bipartite graph is a set of edges, among which each vertex of two types of the graph is adjacent to at most 1 and at most z (≥ 1) edges, respectively. The z-matching problem concerns finding z-matchings with the maximum size. Our approach to this combinatorial optimization problem is twofold. From an algorithmic perspective, we adopt a local algorithm as a linear approximate solver to find z-matchings on any graph instance, whose basic component is a generalized greedy leaf removal procedure in graph theory. From a theoretical perspective, on uncorrelated random bipartite graphs, we develop a mean-field theory for percolation phenomenon underlying the local algorithm, leading to an analytical estimation of z-matching sizes on random graphs. Our analytical theory corrects the prediction by belief propagation algorithm at zero-temperature limit in (Kreačić and Bianconi 2019 EPL 126 028001). Besides, our theoretical framework extends a core percolation analysis of k-XORSAT problems to a general context of uncorrelated random hypergraphs with arbitrary degree distributions of factor and variable nodes. In this study, the problems of precise linearization and optimal control for the cell three-compartment transition model are investigated. According to the differential geometry theory of nonlinear system, three-compartment nonlinear affine model of intracellular and extracellular distribution of 1, 6-diphenyl-1, 3, 5-hexatriene (DPH) is established. A nonlinear state feedback expression is deduced by means of state feedback precise linearization method to realize the linearization of the nonlinear system. Furthermore, the state feedback coefficient is optimized by solving Riccati's equation. The obtained control law is simple and easy to implement. The numerical simulation results show that the feedback system constructed by the nonlinear control strategies has good stability characteristics, and the dynamic response characteristic is improved obviously.

intelligent Community Question Answering (CQA) system is a popular research topic in Natural Language Processing (NLP) area. Recently, the development of distributed data mining has significantly improved the efficiency of the searching and sorting operations in CQA database. However, problems are left unanswered such as how to choose the best answer among multiple candidates for a single question. To solve this issue, we design a CQA system called UB-CQA. First, in database refinement part, we construct an optimized and structured database by the best answer choosing method leveraging user attribute provided by the response provider. Second, in human-computer part, the UB-CQA is able to search and provide a more satisfying answer to users by similarity calculation and re-ranking method leveraging text categorization information. Empirical evaluations show that the best answer choosing and the candidate question re-ranking methods bring great improvements in accuracy and reliability.
