Generating coherent and credible explanations remains a significant challenge in the field of AI. In recent years, researchers have delved into the utilization of entailment trees to depict explanations, which exhibits a reasoning process of how a hypothesis is deduced from the supporting facts. However, existing models often overlook the importance of generating intermediate conclusions with logical consistency from the given facts, leading to inaccurate conclusions and undermining the overall credibility of entailment trees. To address this limitation, we propose the logical pattern memory pre-trained model (LMPM). LMPM incorporates an external memory structure to learn and store the latent representations of logical patterns, which aids in generating logically consistent conclusions. Furthermore, to mitigate the influence of logically irrelevant domain knowledge in the Wikipedia-based data, we introduce an entity abstraction approach to construct the dataset for pre-training LMPM. The experimental results highlight the effectiveness of our approach in improving the quality of entailment tree generation. By leveraging logical entailment patterns, our model produces more coherent and reasonable conclusions that closely align with the underlying premises. Much of commonsense knowledge in real world is in the form of procudures or sequences of steps to achieve particular goals. In recent years, knowledge extraction on procedural documents has attracted considerable attention. However, they often focus on procedural text but ignore a common multimodal scenario in the real world. Images and text can complement each other semantically, alleviating the semantic ambiguity suffered in text-only modality. Motivated by these, in this paper, we explore a problem of grounded multimodal procedural entity recognition (GMPER), aiming to detect the procedural entity and the corresponding bounding box groundings in images (i.e., visual entities). A new dataset (Wiki-GMPER) is built and extensive experiments are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of our proposed model. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) has attracted much attention because it can deal with fuzziness and uncertainty more flexibly than traditional fuzzy set. Complex intuitionistic fuzzy set (CIFS) extends intuitionistic fuzzy to the complex plane, which can better express and process uncertain information. In this paper, a novel distance measure complex intuitionistic fuzzy distance (CIFD) is proposed for CIFSs. Firstly, inspired by Tanimoto coefficient, a new similarity measure between CIFSs is proposed. Then, based on the similarity measure, the CIFD is proposed and its non-negativity, non-degeneracy, and symmetry are analyzed. Moreover, when CIFS degenerates into classical IFS, CIFD is also applicable to measure the differences between IFSs. Event Coreference Resolution (ECR) focuses on clustering event mentions that allude to identical actual events. Previous research primarily focuses on encoding event mentions without incorporating human interpretations, making it difficult to integrate human-summarized rules for guiding the ECR task. Furthermore, the semantic relations between event mentions have not been thoroughly explored, which impacts coreference judgment. To address these issues, we first utilize the powerful Longformer to acquire event representations at the document level. In addition, we introduce a prompt learning template to better emphasize event types and parameters, enhancing the interaction between event modeling and coreference judgment. Ultimately, we create matching vectors for event mentions using tensor matching and incorporate a U-shaped module to effectively identify the semantic relationships among these mentions, which enhances coreference discrimination. DPTU surpasses other ECR models on the KBP2017 dataset in cause of some experiments. © 2024 IEEE.

DFEPT: data Flow Embedding for Enhancing Pre-Trained Model Based Vulnerability Detection

software vulnerabilities represent one of the most pressing threats to computing systems. Identifying vulnerabilities in source code is crucial for protecting user privacy and reducing economic losses. Traditional static analysis tools rely on experts with knowledge in security to manually build rules for operation, a process that requires substantial time and manpower costs and also faces challenges in adapting to new vulnerabilities. The emergence of pre-trained code language models has provided a new solution for automated vulnerability detection. However, code pre-training models are typically based on token-level large-scale pre-training, which hampers their ability to effectively capture the structural and dependency relationships among code segments. In the context of software vulnerabilities, certain types of vulnerabilities are related to the dependency relationships within the code. Consequently, identifying and analyzing these vulnerability samples presents a significant challenge for pre-trained models. In this paper, we propose a data flow embedding technique to enhance the performance of pre-trained models in vulnerability detection tasks, named DFEPT, which provides effective vulnerability data flow information to pre-trained models. Specifically, we parse data flow graphs (DFG) from function-level source code, and use the data type of the variable as the node characteristics of the DFG. By applying graph learning techniques, we embed the data flow graph and incorporate relative positional information into the graph embedding using sine positional encoding to ensure the completeness of vulnerability data flow information. Our research shows that DFEPT can provide effective vulnerability semantic information to pre-trained models, achieving an accuracy of 64.97% on the Devign dataset and an F1-Score of 47.9% on the Reveal dataset. DiffSeg: A Segmentation Model for Skin Lesions Based on Diffusion Difference

Weakly supervised medical image segmentation (MIS) using generative models is crucial for clinical diagnosis. However, the accuracy of the segmentation results is often limited by insufficient supervision and the complex nature of medical imaging. Existing models also only provide a single outcome, which does not allow for the measurement of uncertainty. In this paper, we introduce DiffSeg, a segmentation model for skin lesions based on diffusion difference which exploits diffusion model principles to extract noise-based features from images with diverse semantic information. By discerning difference between these noise features, the model identifies diseased areas. Moreover, its multi-output capability mimics doctors' annotation behavior, facilitating the visualization of segmentation result consistency and ambiguity. Additionally, it quantifies output uncertainty using Generalized Energy Distance (GED), aiding interpretability and decision-making for physicians. Finally, the model integrates outputs through the Dense Conditional Random Field (DenseCRF) algorithm to refine the segmentation boundaries by considering inter-pixel correlations, which improves the accuracy and optimizes the segmentation results. We demonstrate the effectiveness of DiffSeg on the ISIC 2018 Challenge dataset, outperforming state-of-the-art U-Net-based methods. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

For the high-performance computing in a WAN environment,the geographical locations of national supercomputing centers are scattered and the network topology is complex,so it is difficult to form a unified view of *** aggregate the widely dispersed storage resources of national supercomputing centers in China,we have previously proposed a global virtual data space named GVDS in the project of“High Performance Computing Virtual data Space”,a part of the National Key Research and Development Program of *** GVDS enables large-scale applications of the high-performance computing to run efficiently across ***,the applications running on the GVDS are often data-intensive,requiring large amounts of data from multiple supercomputing centers across *** this regard,the GVDS suffers from performance bottlenecks in data migration and access across *** solve the above-mentioned problem,this paper proposes a performance optimization framework of GVDS including the multitask-oriented data migration method and the request access-aware IO proxy resource allocation *** a WAN environment,the framework proposed in this paper can make an efficient migration decision based on the amount of migrated data and the number of multiple data sources,guaranteeing lower average migration latency when multiple data migration tasks are running in *** addition,it can ensure that the thread resource of the IO proxy node is fairly allocated among different types of requests(the IO proxy is a module of GVDS),so as to improve the application’s performance across *** experimental results show that the framework can effectively reduce the average data access delay of GVDS while improving the performance of the application greatly.

Effort-aware cross-project just-in-time defect prediction framework for mobile apps

As the boom of mobile devices,Android mobile apps play an irreplaceable roles in people’s daily life,which have the characteristics of frequent updates involving in many code commits to meet new ***-in-Time(JIT)defect prediction aims to identify whether the commit instances will bring defects into the new release of apps and provides immediate feedback to developers,which is more suitable to mobile *** the within-app defect prediction needs sufficient historical data to label the commit instances,which is inadequate in practice,one alternative method is to use the cross-project *** this work,we propose a novel method,called KAL,for cross-project JIT defect prediction task in the context of Android mobile *** specifically,KAL first transforms the commit instances into a high-dimensional feature space using kernel-based principal component analysis technique to obtain the representative ***,the adversarial learning technique is used to extract the common feature embedding for the model *** conduct experiments on 14 Android mobile apps and employ four effort-aware indicators for performance *** results on 182 cross-project pairs demonstrate that our proposed KAL method obtains better performance than 20 comparative methods.
