Optimal Resource Allocation for UAV-Relay-Assisted Mobile Crowdsensing

In this paper, we exploit an emergency mobile crowdsensing (MCS) framework that utilizes unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in collaboration with uncrashed base stations (BSs) to enhance sensing and communication efficiency. In the proposed framework, mobile users (MUs) equipped with sensors collect data, while UAVs, deployed as aerial relays, collaborate with uncrushed BSs to facilitate the transmission and aggregation of the sensed data from all MUs. However, the limited resources significantly affect the deployment of UAVs and the design of the UAV-relay-assisted MCS system. Moreover, selecting MUs for sensing tasks and allocating bandwidth among them are crucial factors that determine MUs' sensing capabilities and the data transmitting policies. Incorporating with foregoing essential factors, we formulate a comprehensive problem that jointly optimizes the MU selection, bandwidth allocation, UAV deployment, as well as strategies for sensing and transmitting data, aiming to improve the total reward of agent. The formulated problem poses high challenges due to the coupling between the sensing, transmission, as well as the UAVs deployment policies. To deal with this problem, we first derive the optimal transmission power and sensing data size under given MU selection, bandwidth allocation, and UAVs deployment strategy. The original optimization problem is subsequently decomposed into three folds, corresponding to finding the optimal MU selection, bandwidth allocation solution, as well as the deployment of UAVs. Meanwhile, a joint dynamic programming and a swap-then-compare enabled algorithm is proposed to obtain the optimal MU selection and bandwidth allocation policies. Next, the successive convex approximation (SCA) techniques are used to find the optimal locations for the UAVs. Extensive numerical results verify that the proposed joint algorithm can significantly outperform several benchmark approaches. © 1972-2012 IEEE.

With rapid urban population growth and urban-ization, along with increasing demand for developing the low- altitude economy, urban air mobility (UAM) is seen as a way to alleviate ground traffic congestion and promote the low-altitude economy. Due to frequent data computation, low latency require-ments, and limited energy, effective computation offloading and resource management are urgently needed. This paper assumes UAM aircraft transmit semantic information and proposes a computation offloading and resource allocation strategy based on edge computing (EC). In case of edge server failure, relay UAV s assist in information transmission, enabling UAM aircraft to offload tasks to other edge servers. We formulated an op-timization problem to minimize delay and energy consumption and designed the Federated- Td3algorithm, combining federated learning (FL) and twin delayed deep deterministic policy gradient (TD3). Compared to two baseline algorithms, our algorithm reduced delay by 9.9% and 3.3%, and energy consumption by 14.1 % and 4.5%.

Brain computer interface (BCI) applications in robotics are becoming more famous and famous. People with disabilities are facing a real-time problem of doing simple activities such as grasping, handshaking etc. in order to aid with this problem, the use of brain signals to control actuators is showing a great importance. The Emotive Insight, a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) device, is utilized in this project to collect brain signals and transform them into commands for controlling a robotic arm using an Arduino controller. The Emotive Insight captures brain signals, which are subsequently analyzed using Emotive software and connected with Arduino code. The HITI Brain software integrates these devices, allowing for smooth communication between brain activity and the robotic arm. This system demonstrates how brain impulses may be utilized to control external devices directly. The results showed that the system is applicable efficiently to robotic arms and also for prosthetic arms with Multi Degree of Freedom. Secure communication of Active RIS Assisted NOMA Networks

As a revolutionary technology, reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) has been deemed as an indispensable part of the 6th generation communications due to its inherent ability to regulate the wireless channels. However, passive RIS (PRIS) still suffers from some pressing issues, one of which is that the fading of the entire reflection link is proportional to the product of the distances from the base station to the PRIS and from the PRIS to the users, i.e., the productive attenuation. To tackle this problem, active RIS (ARIS) has been proposed to reconfigure the wireless propagation condition and alleviate the productive attenuation. In this paper, we investigate the physical layer security of the ARIS assisted non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) networks with the attendance of external and internal eavesdroppers. To be specific, the closed-form expressions of secrecy outage probability (SOP) and secrecy system throughput are derived by invoking both imperfect successive interference cancellation (ipSIC) and perfect SIC. The secrecy diversity orders of legitimate users are obtained at high signal-to-noise ratios. Numerical results are presented to verify the accuracy of the theoretical expressions and indicate that: i) The SOP of ARIS assisted NOMA networks exceeds that of PRIS-NOMA, ARIS/PRIS-assisted orthogonal multiple access (OMA);ii) Due to the balance between the thermal noise and residual interference, introducing excess reconfigurable elements at ARIS is not helpful to reduce the SOP;and iii) The secrecy throughput performance of ARIS-NOMA networks outperforms that of PRIS-NOMA and ARIS/PRIS-OMA networks. Fast Coding Mode Decision for Intra Prediction in VVC SCC

Currently, screen content video applications are widely used in our daily lives. As the latest Screen Content Coding (SCC) standard, Versatile Video Coding (VVC) SCC employs a quad-tree plus nested multi-type tree (QTMT) coding structure and various screen content coding modes (CMs). This design enhances the coding efficiency of VVC SCC but also results in a highly complex coding process, which significantly hinders the broader adoption of screen content video technology. Consequently, improving the coding speed of VVC SCC is highly desirable. In this paper, we propose a fast CM and transform decision algorithm for Intra prediction in VVC SCC. Specifically, we initially use Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to predict content types for all Coding Units (CUs). Subsequently, we predict candidate CMs for CUs based on the CM distributions of different content types. We then select the Sum of Absolute Transformed Difference (SATD) as a feature and use a naive Bayes classifier to skip unlikely Intra mode early. Finally, we terminate Block-based Differential Pulse-Code Modulation (BDPCM) early and then select the best transform type in Intra mode prediction to improve coding speed. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm improves coding speed by an average of 39.28%, with the BDBR increasing by 0.80%.

Dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous machine (DTP-PMSM) has attracted great attention due to its high reliability and high-power output capacities. However, the conventional single-voltage-vector-based predictive current control (SV-PCC) for DTP-PMSM presents high torque ripple and current harmonics, and high computational burden. To solve those issues, a modulated-virtual-vector-based PCC (MVV-PCC) for DTP-PMSM is proposed in this paper. Wherein, twenty-four VVs are synthesized by the inherent voltage vectors, and two VVs and one zero voltage vector with optimal duty cycles are determined and applied in each sampling period to improve the steady-state performance. The selection of optimal VVs and the calculation of the optimal duty cycles are simplified by integrating the deadbeat control and modulation scheme. Various comparisons are carried out to validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed MVV-PCC strategy.

Secrecy Outage Probability Analysis for Downlink RIS-NOMA Networks with On-Off control

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) has been regarded as a promising technology since it has ability to create the favorable channel conditions. This paper investigates the secure communications of RIS assisted non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) networks, where both external and internal eavesdropping scenarios are taken into consideration. More specifically, novel approximate and asymptotic expressions of secrecy outage probability (SOP) for the k-th legitimate user (LU) are derived by invoking imperfect successive interference cancellation (ipSIC) and perfect successive interference cancellation (pSIC). To characterize the secrecy performance of RIS-NOMA networks, the diversity order of the k-th LU with ipSIC/pSIC is obtained in the high signal-to-noise ratio region. The secrecy system throughput of RIS-NOMA networks is discussed in delay-limited transmission mode. Numerical results are presented to verify theoretical analysis that: i) The SOP of RIS-NOMA networks is superior to that of RIS assisted orthogonal multiple access (OMA) and conventional cooperative communication schemes;ii) As the number of reflecting elements increases, the RIS-NOMA networks are capable of achieving the enhanced secrecy performance;and iii) The RIS-NOMA networks have better secrecy system throughput than that of RIS-OMA networks and conventional cooperative communication schemes. Three-dimensional temperature measurement of flame plays an important role in the field of combustion diagnosis. Traditional radiation thermometry method based on multi-view is applicable to exposed combustion environments, but faces the problem of limited optical testable space in closed ones. In order to solve this problem, single-view multi-sensor structure with ten imaging channels, which is integrated by optical, mechanical and electrical modules, is designed to analyze the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of combustion temperature by means of tomography. In theory, the mapping relationship between divided combustion slices and image plane of the thermometer is established, and light radiation originating from different combustion slices is independently calculated based on Fourier optics. The temperature of combustion slice is further obtained utilizing Planck law. In experiment, firstly, multiple imaging sensors are operated with common optical axis and synchronous trigging. Then, both photoelectric conversion relationship and point spread function of radiation tomography thermometer are calibrated by checkerboard and blackbody furnace, respectively. Finally, the temperature of three-dimensional transient combustion flame is measured by the thermometer. The results show that the temperature distribution of dynamic combustion flame can be effectively revealed, which validates the practicality of the designed radiation tomography thermometer. © 2024, The Authors. The explosive growth of electric vehicles makes the deep coupling between the power distribution network and the urban transportation network, in which the mixed flow consisting of electric vehicles and conventional gasoline vehicles exposes the coupled network to operational problems of congestion and carbon emission overruns. Considering this, this paper constructs an environmentally friendly oriented optimization model for coupled power and transportation networks. Specifically, the mixed flow in a coupled network is considered, the charging price is optimized to guide the charging behavior of electric vehicle users, and the carbon emission cost is adopted to schedule the routes of gasoline vehicles. To solve the optimization model of the coupled network, an accelerated Gauss-Seidel algorithm is designed to obtain the equilibrium state of the entire system, the optimization problems of both networks are solved in an iterative manner and eventually converge to the equilibrium state. A coupled power and transportation network consisting of a modified IEEE-33 bus distribution network and a 20 link transportation network is conducted as a case study, and the impact of charging prices and carbon emissions on the operational strategies of coupled networks is analyzed. The effectiveness of the proposed environmentally friendly oriented optimization model in promoting the cost reduction and flow equilibrium of the coupled network is verified.
