During the NIR spectral analysis to quickly determine concentrations of essential components of milk, spectral region is wider, peaks are overlap, and searching space is larger, spectrum acquiring often subjects to interference coming from environmental noise and interference of other components, so it is necessary to make optimum selecting to wavelength variables. In this paper, for concentration of protein in milk samples, Uninformative Variable Elimination (UVE) method is used to make optimum selecting to wavelength variables, and the selected wavelengths are taken as the input variables to build PLS model. Prediction results of PLS model built after processed by the UVE method is respectively compared with results of the PLS model by Genetic Algorithms (GA) method and results of the PLS model without making wavelength variable selection. The result shows that the UVE-PLS model has great advantage comparing with the GA-PLS model, and using the UVE method to select the wavelength variable of milk spectrum can make variable numbers for the final PLS model become smaller, redundant information become minimize, robustness of model become steady, and testing time of spectrum acquiring become shorter. © 2011 IEEE.

Analysis of secondary throughput and optimization in cooperative spectrum sensing

In cooperative spectrum sensing, more secondary user makes more opportunity for detecting the vacant spectrums, which resulting the spectrum utilization improved, however much bandwidth would be occupied for sending the local observation results, inducing the reduced secondary throughput. In this paper, an adaptive algorithm for selecting detection threshold was proposed, where the maximized secondary throughput can always be achieved while assuring sufficient protection to primary user, regardless of the number of sensing users in cognitive radio networks. Theoretical analysis and simulation results validate the proposed scheme.

Fingerprint singular points extraction based on the properties of orientation model

A novel method for fingerprint singular points extraction including location and orientation is proposed based on some properties of the orientation field models. Singular points are located by clustering the results of corner detection. Then, through examining the sub-block orientation fields at a number of selected positions on concentric circles centered about the located singular point, an iterative method based on the orientation differences is proposed to compute the orientation of the core point. Experimental results on NIST4 and FVC2002 four databases demonstrate the proposed method can consistently locate singular points with the high accuracy. The location and orientation of the detected singular points can be used for alignment （translation and rotation） parameters in fingerprint matching.

The objectives of this study were to investigate the measurement methodology of the protein content in skimmed milk by laser light scattering(LLS). There was a definition that the ratio of the scattering light(at 90°scattering angles, relative to the incident beam direction) intensity to the transmitted light intensity, which was called scattered transmitted ratio(STR). Using the STR theory, we constructed a sensing system to measure the protein content. The sensing system contains a laser beam of 658nm wavelength, sample reservoir and two photodiodes which measure the scattered light and transmitted light respectively. Through data analysis, the relationship model was established between the protein content and the STR. Comparing with Kjeldahl determination of nitrogen, the STR method described in this study can also accurately measure the protein content. © 2011 IEEE.

A distance measuring system based ultrasonic sensors and infrared sensors was presented. It can real-time handle sensor information. And through date fusion, the obstacles in the environment can be detected. This can be used to model the environment for mobile robot's path planning and other tasks. Experiment was shown that the system can be complementary in function of multi-sensor, while providing more accurate distance information. © 2011 IEEE.

Three-dimensional (3D) face recognition, as an important tool of modern authentication, is being causing concerns interests by more and more researcher. In this paper, a 3D measuring device for Chine-se adult's facial data based on Gray coding structured light and stereo vision was designed. The measuring model was built based on the Measuring principle. After errors analyzing, the error of image coordinate extracting is determined as the largest error source for measuring result. The results of experiments show that this design is feasible, and the acquirement of the 3D data of human face is achieved. The reconstruct surface is similar in the visual effects, and the surface of human face could be display smoothly and detail.

The real time property of fieldbus is very important to industrial control system. The transmission time delay is an important factor that influences the real time property of fieldbus. Starting from the medium access control mechanism of PROFIBUS, the PROFIBUS simplified transmission time delay formulas were given, and one of the important factors that influence message transmission time delay message block time, has been deeply analyzed. According to the relation of the address of the node which tries to send message with the node which owns the token, PROFIBUS message block time mathematical model was proposed, and the correctness of the mathematical model has been validated by the simulation. The conclusion of this paper will provide the theoretic reference basis for the further study on the real time property of PROFIBUS. © 2011 IEEE.

The real time property of fieldbus network is very important to industrial control system, and the scheduling method of real-time information is an important factor that influences the real time property of fieldbus network. According to industrial real-time applications, a node produces a variety of information which have different requirements for real-time characteristics, the mixed service strategies scheduling method has been presented. This method makes the information scheduling process have the real-time property and without losing its flexibility. The results of simulation show that, compared with the traditional way of using a single service rule, the mixed service rule makes the transmission delay time of real-time information reduced by 50.00%53.75%. © 2011 IEEE.
