Nonlinear Filtering With Sample-Based Approximation Under Constrained Communication:Progress, Insights and Trends

The nonlinear filtering problem has enduringly been an active research topic in both academia and industry due to its ever-growing theoretical importance and practical *** main objective of nonlinear filtering is to infer the states of a nonlinear dynamical system of interest based on the available noisy measurements. In recent years, the advance of network communication technology has not only popularized the networked systems with apparent advantages in terms of installation,cost and maintenance, but also brought about a series of challenges to the design of nonlinear filtering algorithms, among which the communication constraint has been recognized as a dominating concern. In this context, a great number of investigations have been launched towards the networked nonlinear filtering problem with communication constraints, and many samplebased nonlinear filters have been developed to deal with the highly nonlinear and/or non-Gaussian scenarios. The aim of this paper is to provide a timely survey about the recent advances on the sample-based networked nonlinear filtering problem from the perspective of communication constraints. More specifically, we first review three important families of sample-based filtering methods known as the unscented Kalman filter, particle filter,and maximum correntropy filter. Then, the latest developments are surveyed with stress on the topics regarding incomplete/imperfect information, limited resources and cyber ***, several challenges and open problems are highlighted to shed some lights on the possible trends of future research in this realm.

Effects of degree of graphitization of C shells on microwave absorption of Fe-C core-shell nanoparticles with excellent comparability

In this study,Fe-C core-shell nanoparticles with identical metal core sizes and C shell thicknesses but varying degrees of graphitization of C shells were fabricated using metal-organic chemical vapor depo-sition and subsequent *** to the identical metal core,these nanoparticles exhibite a similar permeability,but significantly varying permittivity depending on how much C shells have been *** was discovered that proper graphitization of Fe-C nanoparticles annealed at 1350 ℃ can pro-duce excellent microwave absorption(MA),decent dielectric loss tangent in high frequency region,and moderately strong dielectric loss and attenuation ***,the threshold value of 1/ω is discovered to be a crucial parameter in the theoretical analysis of nonlinear behavior of polarization loss,and thus MA performance of the *** research offers a useful method for creating metal-C nanoparticles with various levels of C shell *** also provides a clear answer to the crucial question of how the level of C shell graphitization affects the MA performance of metal-C *** results may serve as a reference for the development and mechanism analysis of highly effective metal-C based absorbers.

RESEARCH ON INTELLIGENT LIGHTING CONTROL SYSTEM BASED ON FIBER OPTIC IoT

To achieve intelligent lighting with multiple targets on a large scale and improve the energy utilization rate of the system, we design an intelligent lighting control system based on the fiber optic Internet of Things (IoT) and propose a neural network algorithm based on deep combination. After learning and analyzing the test data of fiber optic sensing networks, it provides a threshold solution method for selecting lighting equipment based on target location in a large range of lighting areas. Based on the neural network structure, it analyzes the lighting state control process with fiber optic IoT echo response as the input layer. In the lighting target recognition test, vehicles and pedestrians were tested separately. The results show that the maximum response voltages of the vehicle after amplification are 3.47V and 0.91V, respectively. The maximum response voltages of the pedestrian after amplification are 1.81V and 0.65V, respectively. The spectral distribution can distinguish the motion states of pedestrians and vehicles. The response amplitude of the vehicle is strong and the delay is long. The amplitude intensity of pedestrian movement is small and the delay is short. In the illumination experiment, according to the distribution changes of P1-P4, the target is always at the optimal illumination position in the illumination area. Its light energy utilization rate is the highest, which means its electrical energy utilization rate is also the best. It has certain advantages for intelligent control of large-scale lighting. © 2024, Politechnica University of Bucharest. All rights reserved.

In the wake of rapid advancements in artificial intelligence(AI), we stand on the brink of a transformative leap in data systems. The imminent fusion of AI and DB(AI×DB) promises a new generation of data systems, which will relieve the burden on end-users across all industry sectors by featuring AI-enhanced functionalities, such as personalized and automated in-database AI-powered analytics, and selfdriving capabilities for improved system performance. In this paper, we explore the evolution of data systems with a focus on deepening the fusion of AI and DB. We present NeurDB, an AI-powered autonomous data system designed to fully embrace AI design in each major system component and provide in-database AI-powered analytics. We outline the conceptual and architectural overview of NeurDB, discuss its design choices and key components, and report its current development and future plan.

On learning the right attention point for feature enhancement

We present a novel attention-based mechanism to learn enhanced point features for point cloud processing tasks, e.g., classification and segmentation. Unlike prior studies, which were trained to optimize the weights of a pre-selected set of attention points, our approach learns to locate the best attention points to maximize the performance of a specific task, e.g., point cloud classification. Importantly, we advocate the use of single attention point to facilitate semantic understanding in point feature learning. Specifically,we formulate a new and simple convolution, which combines convolutional features from an input point and its corresponding learned attention point(LAP). Our attention mechanism can be easily incorporated into state-of-the-art point cloud classification and segmentation networks. Extensive experiments on common benchmarks, such as Model Net40, Shape Net Part, and S3DIS, all demonstrate that our LAP-enabled networks consistently outperform the respective original networks, as well as other competitive alternatives, which employ multiple attention points, either pre-selected or learned under our LAP framework.

An effective object detection and tracking using automated image annotation with inception based faster R-CNN model

The present study advances object detection and tracking techniques by proposing a novel model combining Automated Image Annotation with Inception v2-based Faster RCNN (AIA-IFRCNN). The research methodology utilizes the DCF-CSRT model for image annotation, Faster RCNN for object detection, and the inception v2 model for feature extraction, followed by a softmax layer for image classification. The proposed AIA-IFRCNN model is evaluated on three benchmark datasets: Bird (Dataset 1), UCSDped2 (Dataset 2), and Under Water (Dataset 3), to determine prediction accuracy, annotation time, Center Location Error (CLE), and Overlap Rate (OR). The experimental results indicate that the AIA-IFRCNN model outperformed existing models regarding detection accuracy and tracking performance. Notably, it achieved a maximum detection accuracy of 95.62 % on Dataset 1, outperforming other models. Additionally, it achieved minimum average CLE values of 4.16, 5.78, and 3.54, and higher overlap rates of 0.92, 0.90, and 0.94 on the respective datasets (1, 2 and 3). Hence, this research work on object detection and tracking using the AIA-IFRCNN model is essential for improving system efficiency and fostering innovation in the field of computer vision and object tracking. © 2024

PeriodicMFD: A Periodic-based Framework for Multi-source Fault Diagnosis

Cross-speed bearing fault diagnosis based on multiple source domains and their data enables high-performance condition monitoring for variable-speed equipment, such as engines and turbines. Current multi-source methods typically employ a fixed-length sampling strategy to construct samples and then align the distributions of these samples from different domains. However, these methods neglect the inherent periodic characteristics of bearing data, resulting in incomplete or redundant periodic features in the samples. To address this challenge, we propose a periodic-based framework, PeriodicMFD, for multi-source cross-speed fault diagnosis, which ensures complete periodic information. Our PeriodicMFD framework begins with a periodic sampling strategy designed to construct periodic samples that effectively capture periodic features while maintaining their periodic integrity. Nevertheless, periodic samples from different domains exhibit inconsistencies at both the sample and domain levels. To reconcile these inconsistencies, we introduce sample-level matching to address inconsistencies in feature dimensions and fault patterns among samples from various domains. Additionally, we propose domain-level alignment to handle inconsistencies in space and distribution across different domains. Extensive experiments across three datasets highlight the effectiveness of the PeriodicMFD framework, with a stable average accuracy of 99.55%. © 2015 IEEE.

The physical process in the macroscopic world unfolds along a single time direction,while the evolution of a quantum system is reversible in *** to recover a quantum system to its past state is a complex issue of both fundamental and practical *** this article,we experimentally demonstrate a novel method for recovering the state in quantum walks(QWs),also known as full-state ***,we observe two other important phenomena in QWs,recurrence and periodicity,via simplifying and repeatedly implementing the scheme,*** experiments show that obtaining these phenomena requires neither any information of the initial state nor full information of the coin *** work sheds new light on quantum state engineering and recovery,and the initialization of quantum devices based on QWs.

Compared with traditional environments,the cloud environment exposes online services to additional vulnerabilities and threats of cyber attacks,and the cyber security of cloud platforms is becoming increasingly prominent.A piece of code,known as a Webshell,is usually uploaded to the target servers to achieve multiple *** Webshell attacks has become a hot spot in current ***,the traditional Webshell detectors are not built for the cloud,making it highly difficult to play a defensive role in the cloud ***,a Webshell detection system based on deep learning that is successfully applied in various scenarios,is proposed in this *** system contains two important components:gray-box and neural network *** gray-box analyzer defines a series of rules and algorithms for extracting static and dynamic behaviors from the code to make the decision *** neural network analyzer transforms suspicious code into Operation Code(OPCODE)sequences,turning the detection task into a classification *** experiment results show that SmartEagleEye achieves an encouraging high detection rate and an acceptable false-positive rate,which indicate its capability to provide good protection for the cloud environment.
