To solve the problem that it is difficult to accurately estimate the coherent parameters of distributed aperture radar under the condition of low signal-to-noise ratio, a distributed coherent synthesis method based on two-stage compensation is proposed in this paper. This method utilizes prior information such as system layout, beam pointing, and inertial navigation station location to perform coarse alignment of echoes at the first stage in time, and then uses cross-correlation method to estimate coherent parameters of delay and phase within a small range, and perform precise compensation of time and phase at the second stage, so as to realize the coherent synthesis of multiple radar echoes. Experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively realize distributed coherent synthesis processing under low signal-to-noise ratio. © 2024 IEEE.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) can be utilized to study the structure of pediatric brains non-invasively. In practice, low-field MRI scanners are widely adopted for pediatric brain imaging. However, the corresponding acquired MRI data usually suffers from severe artifacts, such as noise and motion. Therefore, an effective Quality Assessment (QA) method is essential. To this end, we design a Multi-Label MambaOut (MLMambaOut) model for the low-field pediatric brain MRI QA challenge. Specifically, we view this challenge as a multi-label classification task, utilizing four stages of gated convolution neural network blocks and ML-Decoder to finish the classification with class balance loss. Furthermore, we explore the performance of Mamba and some advanced models for this challenge. We performed extensive experiments on the challenge data, which is low-field and corrupted with seven kinds of artifacts. The results show that our MLMambaOut achieves superior classification results compared with other methods. © The Author(s) 2025.

Due to the ever-increasing computing power and easy availability, social-networking platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc. have become a popular medium to express one’s views instantly, be it about political situations, commercial products, or social occurrences. Twitter is a powerful source of information, whose data can be utilized to investigate the opinions of users through a process called Opinion Mining or Sentiment Analysis. Using the principles of Natural Language Processing and data science, this paper presents a comparative evaluation of multiple lexicon-based sentiment analysis algorithms to extract public opinion from tweets. This paper presents a novel single-loop narrow-band force rebalance control method with temperature self-compensation for a MEMS gyroscope. The narrow-bandwidth force rebalance control for the sense mode is achieved using a simple bandpass filter (BPF) and without modulation or demodulation. The center frequency of the BPF is adjusted automatically to match the resonant frequency of the sense mode. Meanwhile, its gain is tuned based on the real-time quality factor of the sense mode. Experimental results demonstrate that the bias drift of the gyroscope with self-compensation is reduced from 1320 deg/h to 16 deg/h, while the scale factor drift is reduced from 0.616 mV/deg/s to 0.075 mV/deg/s. © 2025 IEEE.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) require efficient node deployment strategies to optimize network longevity, energy consumption, and coverage. This paper introduces a novel approach for strategic node deployment in WSNs using Bayesian Optimization (BO). A BO-based framework that iteratively modifies node positions to maximize network performance metrics, such as energy efficiency and coverage ratio, while minimizing execution time is proposed. Through extensive simulations across diverse deployment scenarios, the proposed method is evaluated and demonstrates superior performance compared to both traditional and machine learning (ML)-based techniques. The results indicate significant improvements in coverage and energy efficiency, alongside competitive execution times. These findings highlight the potential of BO to enhance WSN deployment strategies, offering a scalable and adaptive solution for real-world applications. Future research will focus on integrating BO with other optimization techniques and extending the approach to dynamic environments and varied network configurations. © 2025 IEEE.

"Nyctophy": Assessing the effectiveness of serious game for nyctophobia based on virtual reality by usability and heart rate monitoring

Nyctophobia is a phobia of the dark and is common among children but also found in adults. While the phobia itself is commonly known, the diversity of its treatment is still minimal. As technology has reached its highest point, numerous inventions and innovations have emerged in the medical sector. This study aimed to examine the usability of Virtual Reality and Keyboard and Mouse as an interface using the Extended Reality Game Usability Questionnaire (XR-GUQ) in Nyctophobia therapy and to analyze the heart rate response, impact, and implications using t-test Paired/Wilcoxon Signed Rank. Thirty-four Bina Nusantara University students from various backgrounds completed the test using interfaces and a smartwatch. They were divided into two groups, high- and low fear, using the modified Acrophobia Questionnaire (AQ), which resulted in a significant difference. The XR-GUQ result was insignificant in all variables, which indicates similar usability scores on both interfaces. The t-test Paired/Wilcoxon Signed Rank test revealed a significant difference between the high- and low-fear groups when using the Virtual Reality interface compared to the Keyboard and Mouse interface. This significant difference was found within each group regardless of the interface used. This research shows similar scores in terms of usability but a significant difference in heart rate response with the help of a serious game to give a new sensation of phobia therapy.
