Evolutionary Negative Selection Algorithms (ENSAs) could be regarded as hybrid algorithms of Evolutionary Algorithms (EAs) and Negative Selection Algorithms (NSAs). The average time complexity of ENSAs on combinational optimization problems has never been studied before. In this paper, the average time complexity of ENSAs on one combinational optimization problem is analyzed. The theoretical results demonstrate that, for the Two Max function, the ENSA with an appropriate matching threshold could perform better than the traditional (N+N) EA. Some simulation experiments on the combinational problem are also done, and the experimental results are consistent with theoretical results.

An aggregation tree approach for event detection in wireless sensor networks

Collecting data with confidence of the environment is an important application of the wireless sensor networks (WSN). In this study, we used a splay tree based event region fault-tolerant detection algorithm (STERD) for WSNs to address these problems. Rather than passing large quantities of raw data through the network, our network instead sends the coefficients of a regression polynomial that simulates the readings of the sensor nodes throughout the region of interest. These coefficients essentially summarize the relevant information over the region, in effect compressing the data, leading to a reduction in both data volume and energy expenditure. Simulation results indicate that the proposed STERD can attractively obtain the high event region detection accuracy and considerably reduce the false alarm probability. © 2009 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.

Fuzzy time series forecasting model is an effective method to solve the nonlinear problems forecasting. However, most published fuzzy time series based models did not count the change trend implicit in historical datum. In this paper, authors proposed a novel method which applied heuristic information to the fuzzy time series model based on Fibonacci sequence. As an example, the USD/JPY exchange rate is tested in this model. The results show that this method not only improves the forecasting accuracy, but decreases the computational complexity.

Entity Homepage Recognition(EHR) is an important part of entity finding. In this paper, a method of EHR based on AdaBoost is proposed. With the help of Google, this method recalls pages related to answer entities and recognizes to obtain the relevant entity homepage. In detail, Person, Organization and Product, three types of entities are analyzed respectively and 3148 entities and the corresponding entity homepages are collected, besides, on the basis of entity characteristic, we define the entity features related to the features of link and webpage content, as well as, these features are extracted to form a training data set;And then using different learning algorithms with different features to identify the homepage to find the most effective classification features and homepage recognition learning algorithm. Experiments were done by employing the test data set of entity task in TREC-2009 and the method of 10-fold cross validation, the results show the best effects have been achieved by adopting the method of AdaBoost, specifically, combined with the features of link and webpage content, the recognition accuracy rate for right homepage reaches 91.34%. 1553-9105/ Copyright © 2009 Binary Information Press.

Web service technologies are becoming increasingly important for integrating service-oriented applications. The Web services reverse engineering process becomes necessary in order to facilitate the reuse and composition of Web services. This paper describes a model driven Web service reverse engineering process, where Web service descriptions (WSDL) are transformed to UML models, then the generated UML models are integrated into composite Web services, finally the new Web service descriptions (OWL) are generated.

The equalization-cancellation (EC) model has been extensively studied for expressing binaural masking level difference (BMLD) in psychoacoustics. Few research focuses on applying this psychoacoustic model to speech processing applications, such as speech enhancement. In this paper, we propose a two-stage binaural speech enhancement with Wiener filter (TS-BASE/WF) based on the EC model. In this proposed TS-BASE/WF, interfering signals are first estimated by equalizing and cancelling the target signal based on the EC model, and a time-variant Wiener filter is then applied to enhance the target signal given noisy mixture signals. The main advantages of the proposed TS-BASE/WF are: (1) effectiveness in dealing with non-stationary multiple-source interfering signals; (2) success in localizing the target sound source after processing. These advantages were confirmed by comprehensive experiments in different spatial scenarios in terms of speech enhancement and sound localization.

We propose a multiphase region-based framework for image segmentation using Least Square Method, by piecewise constant optimal approximations. The basic idea of our model is to build up a minimum error functional by approximating n sub-regions of the original image with n constants respectively. The main contribution of our method is that we introduce weighting matrixes into the region-based model, which can enhance the weight of the specific region while reducing the influence from other regions. Moreover, our method can fast converge, and segment a given image into arbitrary regions under least squares and iterative algorithm. Experimental results show the advantages of our method in terms of accuracy and efficiency in image segmentation.

The traditional syntactic service matchmaking is lack of semantic information with machine understandable, so it can not achieve intelligent service discovery. In this paper, the fuzzy nature of matchmaking is considered, and the conceptions of linguistic variables in fuzzy logics are introduced into service matchmaker. The matchmaking linguistic variables and the fuzzy relationship matrix are defined, and conjunction degree of fuzzy key words sets is proposed to solve the semantic match problem between service description and service request. The research provides a new valuable way for studying intelligent service discovery.

Traditional English text chunking approach is to identify phrases using only one model and same features. It is shown that one model could not consider each phrasepsilas characteristics, and same features are not suitable to all phrases. In this paper, a multi-agent text chunking model is proposed. This model uses individual sensitive features of each phrase to identify different phrases. Through testing on the public training and test corpus, this multi-agent model is effective because F score of English chunking using this multi-agent model achieves to 95.70%, which is higher than the best result that has been reported.

This paper presents a knowledge management system for crop disease. The aim of KMSCD is to provide a knowledge management tool for efficient knowledge acquisition, storage, knowledge engineering, processing and proper maintenance of knowledge that can be ultimately used by the diagnostic expert system. The development of the KMSCD simplifies the complete process of knowledge management by providing user-friendly interface to the domain expert for entering and storing the domain specific knowledge to solve the disease identification and control problem particularly for oil seeds crops. The system presently applies to the knowledge management of 25 prevalent diseases of three major oil seeds crops of India viz. soybean, ground nut and rapeseed mustard. The adopted development methodology and the experience acquired in the knowledge engineering and development of knowledge management system for crop disease are discussed in this paper.
