Sign language is one of the technique to support communication with deaf and speech impaired people. Nowadays, human needs become more complex, so are the needs of people with those disabilities. Therefore, with the sophistication of modern technology in the field of computer science, it is necessary to have a sign language translation system which is capable to convert human gestures into words or spelling letters in a natural human language, especially Indonesian language and SIBI sign language. This research is conducted to analyze the capabilities of an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) system to translate SIBI sign language into Indonesian language. The analysis is performed quantitatively from the experiment results to gain a descriptive insights for the generated models. By creating two datasets containing alphabets and words in SIBI sign language, two models were generated to predict alphabets and words, respectively. The result shows that ANN model could effectively and efficiently perform a sign language translation with accuracy of alphabet prediction reached 96.15% and words prediction reached 99.45% in duration of prediction without exceeding 0.15 seconds. Regarding to the results, it can be concluded that ANN model quantitatively suitable to be implemented as an Indonesian sign language translator system. © 2024 The Authors.

As of 2023, Indonesia ranks as the second largest waste-producing country globally. The waste produced is not segregated properly, leading to the vast amount of waste piling up in local landfills. Traditional methods, such as manual sorting, have been widely used to segregate waste but suffer from inefficiencies and inaccuracies. In contrast, deep learning models offer an alternative solution for waste classification, overcoming the limitations of traditional methods. A deep learning approach using YOLOv8 was proposed to classify waste into six distinct categories. Three different YOLOv8 variants: nano, small, and medium, are trained after the dataset has been augmented into 3,500 labeled images. The results indicate that these models were able to achieve high accuracy in classifying images, with the nano variant having the least training time and an accuracy of approximately 89%. © 2024 The Authors.

It is well known that energy has become one of the essential factors for the development of human civilization. As a new type of energy source, fusion energy is considered to be the most promising and effective way to solve future energy problems. With the continuous research in this field, the current types of pulse experiments have gradually developed into long-pulse experiment operation mode. This paper designs a data acquisition and control system (DACS) in order to meet the requirements of high-speed data acquisition and efficient storage in the context of long-pulse experiments. This system designs a new data transmission and storage management mode to enable the interaction between LabVIEW and MDSplus, making it suitable for multi-channel high-speed data acquisition experiments in long-pulse mode. Besides, DACS uses MDSip and HTTP network communication protocols to transmit control signals and experimental data. As for human-machine interaction, it adopts a combination of local and remote interactions to satisfy the requirements of different situations. It also devises a suitable algorithm to solve the concurrent processing problem of double platforms. The design of this system can accomplish the tasks of monitoring and control as well as real-time processing and storage of experimental data in long-pulse experiments, improving the overall level of automation of the system. © 2024 IEEE.

This research aims to develop a brain tumor detection model by utilizing the machine learning techniques and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). A significant matter to address is revolving around early detection and the proper handling regarding the brain tumor. This research's methodology consists of collecting the dataset, identifying the tools and language to use, prepare and preprocessing the data, data augmentation, splitting and label encoding, building the model architecture, compiling the model, training, and evaluating the model, predicting the model, and comparing it with other models. Dataset consists of 7022 MRI images, divided into training and testing subsets;and four classes: glioma, meningioma, pituitary, and no tumor. There are four different CNN models that have been built and evaluated, namely VGG16, InceptionV3, ResNet50, and DenseNet121. The result gained shows VGG16 with the best performance achieving an accuracy rate of 96.43%, followed by DenseNet121 (94,96%), InceptionV3 (92,40%), and ResNet50 (78,69%). Although there is still room for improvement regarding overfitting and increasing the models' overall performance, this result is promising enough to enhance early diagnosis and offer an appropriate and effective treatment for patients. © 2024 The Authors.

The FPGA is widely used in aerospace, nuclear power and other highly reliable fields. It realizes the core and key functions of information systems, such as communication, data processing, control, and so on. According to the functional requirements of FPGA self-diagnosis in high-reliability systems. Two typical FPGA self-diagnosis methods, the look-up table method, and the redundant method, are compared and analyzed. Combined with the redundant method based on state machine theory, an FPGA reliability self diagnosis function design method is proposed to diagnose and analyze the soft errors and local permanent errors in FPGA, through the statistical analysis of self diagnosis coverage, it is to prove that the method can achieve high self diagnosis coverage and improve the overall safety level of key equipment. © 2023 IEEE.

With over 90 storms emerging worldwide each year, tropical cyclones (TCs) are the most damaging weather systems to emerge over the tropical oceans. For the purpose of providing advanced warning to the impacted areas, fast TC detection and tracking is essential. Remote sensing is essential for the detection of these storms since they originate over open oceans that are far from the continents. Here, we describe an innovative deep learning approach-based automated technique for TC detection from satellite photos. Our research presents a three-phase deep learning architecture for TC detection that consists of three components: 1) a classifier - convolutional neural network (CNN);2) a wind speed filter;and 3) a detector - Mask convolutional neural network (CNN). Using Bayesian optimization, the hyperparameters of the pipeline as a whole are tuned to display optimal performance. Results show that the suggested method produces test images with specificity (97.59%), high precision (97.10%) and accuracy (86.55%). © 2023 IEEE.

This paper proposes an automatic land cover mapping technique using Conditional Random Fields (CRFs) from hyper-spectral snapshots. It introduces a hierarchical feature vector method to encode the labels' spatial relationships. Fog is a data management and analytics service. This paper derives the most effective new approach for providing IoT-enabled services in healthcare applications using Fog Computing. In this study, data are collected from Google Scholar, Science Director, and MEDLINE databases. IoT-based Fog Computing techniques are proposed to provide quality services to users. An optimal resource provisioning method for boundary discovery, service level agreements, and administration services for an IoT client is proposed. The DeepQ residual information processing technique is applied to cloud data center connectivity, and the computing paradigm technique is to find the reference depth of fog levels. The proposed optimal resource provisioning algorithm studies the dataset and the TensorFlow tool is used to simulate the environment. The Deep Belief network is generated based on the above input using a 512 × 512 × 3-layer system and 3000 trained data, 1000 test data are taken for simulation. Each dataset simulation is recorded using supervised and unsupervised learning techniques. Based on the above results, IoT enables Fog Computing's data management and analytics systems to provide 95% accuracy, and compared to existing computing methods, our proposed systems show better performance in terms of security and convenience. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
