The aim of this study is to introduce the application of fuzzy numbers in an Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model for defective items under deterioration. In practice, the fuzziness of parameters tends to reduce over time compared to the theoretical assumptions, which justifies the use of fuzzy numbers. The proposed model starts with crisp approach which later involves the fuzzification of inventory parameters, such as demand rate, holding cost, deterioration rate, purchase cost, screening cost, and ordering cost, to account for uncertainty and imprecision. The triangular fuzzy numbers are utilized to represent these parameters, and a fuzzy model is developed accordingly. To defuzzify the model, Yager's ranking index is adopted, and a detailed comparison is made between crisp and general fuzzy solutions. The model is validated through numerical examples and graphical illustrations, followed by a thorough sensitivity analysis to gain a deeper comprehension of how modifications in parameters affect the optimal solution. © 2024 IEEE.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) has emerged as a prominent cause of mortality globally during the past few decades. To receive medical care for heart illness in a clinic or medical center, it is necessary to undergo costly diagnostic tests. Implementing machine learning (ML) algorithms presents a viable approach to monitoring the health of individuals with cardiac conditions, offering a potential solution to mitigate the financial burden of medical expenses. This study employed ten ML algorithms to predict heart disease, which distinguishes itself from others by incorporating three distinct cross-validation approaches and three sample techniques, enhancing our findings’ accuracy. Three different cross-validation strategies have been implemented in this study: holdout cross-validation, tenfold cross-validation, and stratified tenfold cross-validation. Each technique has been applied to every sample technique used in the study. DTC, RFC, KNN, and XGB algorithms exhibited the most favorable outcomes. Our recommended model is the RF Classifier implemented with near-miss under-sampling out of the four models considered. The model under consideration demonstrates the maximum level of accuracy, specifically 97.54%, 97.11%, and 99%, while employing the Extra Tree, Random Forest Classifier, and XGB. The ML model's performance was assessed using metrics like accuracy, error rate, precision, recall, F1-score, ROC AUC curve etc. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Emotion recognition is vital in the human computer interaction because it improves interaction. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved method for emotion recognition regarding the Hybrid Autoencoder-Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model and the newly developed hybrid approach of the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) and Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) for hyperparameters tuning. In this case, Autoencoder can reduce input data dimensionality for input data and find the features relevant for the model’s work. In addition, LSTM is able to work with temporal structures of sequential inputs like speech and videos. The contribution of this research lies in the novel combination method of ACO-WOA which aims at tweaking hyperparameters of Autoencoder-LSTM model. Global aspect of ACO and WOA thereby improve the search efficiency and the accuracy of the proposed emotion recognition system and its generalization capacity. In context with the benchmark dataset for the experimentations of emotion recognition, it has established the efficiency of the proposed model in terms of the conventional methods. Recall rates in recognitive intended various emotions and different modalities were also higher in the hybrid Autoencoder-LSTM model. The optimization algorithms like the ACO-WOA also supported in reducing the computational cost which arose due to hyperparameters tuning. The implementation of this paper is done through Python Software. This implementation shows a high accuracy of 94.12% and 95.94% for audio datasets and image datasets respectively when compared with other deep learning models of Conv LSTM and VGG16. Therefore, the research shows that the presented hybrid approach can be a useful solution for successfully employing emotion recognition for enhancing the creation of the empathetic AI systems and for improving user interactions within various fields including healthcare, entertainment, and customer support. © (2025), (Science and Information Organization). Edge crossings in geometric graphs are sometimes undesirable as they could lead to unwanted situations such as collisions in motion planning and inconsistency in VLSI layout. Short geometric structures such as shortest perfect matchings, shortest spanning trees, shortest spanning paths, and shortest spanning cycles on a given point set are inherently noncrossing. However, the longest such structures need not be noncrossing. In fact, it is intuitive to expect many edge crossings in various geometric graphs that are longest. Recently, Álvarez-Rebollar, Cravioto-Lagos, Marín, Solé-Pi, and Urrutia (Graphs and Combinatorics, 2024) constructed a set of points for which the longest perfect matching is noncrossing. They raised several challenging questions in this direction. In particular, they asked whether the longest spanning path, on any finite set of points in the plane, must have a pair of crossing edges. They also conjectured that the longest spanning cycle must have a pair of crossing edges. In this paper, we give a negative answer to the question and also refute the conjecture. The sustainable inventory model is a framework designed to ensure manufacturing processes' sustainability while maintaining profitability. During manufacturing, some items may experience degradation, resulting in imperfect goods. Nevertheless, a screening process is implemented to eliminate such items before they reach the consumers. Therefore, it is critical to scrutinize items prone to deterioration thoroughly. Suppliers prioritize trade credit in payments when supplying retailers, necessitating the development of an inventory model that caters to the needs of retailers dealing with imperfect and deteriorating quality items while considering carbon emissions and trade credit as a payment. The study presents numerical illustrations and sensitivity analysis for a better understanding of the model. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years,wearable devices-based Human Activity Recognition(HAR)models have received significant *** developed HAR models use hand-crafted features to recognize human activities,leading to the extraction of basic *** images captured by wearable sensors contain advanced features,allowing them to be analyzed by deep learning algorithms to enhance the detection and recognition of human *** lighting and limited sensor capabilities can impact data quality,making the recognition of human actions a challenging *** unimodal-based HAR approaches are not suitable in a real-time ***,an updated HAR model is developed using multiple types of data and an advanced deep-learning ***,the required signals and sensor data are accumulated from the standard *** these signals,the wave features are *** the extracted wave features and sensor data are given as the input to recognize the human *** Adaptive Hybrid Deep Attentive Network(AHDAN)is developed by incorporating a“1D Convolutional Neural Network(1DCNN)”with a“Gated Recurrent Unit(GRU)”for the human activity recognition ***,the Enhanced Archerfish Hunting Optimizer(EAHO)is suggested to fine-tune the network parameters for enhancing the recognition *** experimental evaluation is performed on various deep learning networks and heuristic algorithms to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed HAR *** EAHO-based HAR model outperforms traditional deep learning networks with an accuracy of 95.36,95.25 for recall,95.48 for specificity,and 95.47 for precision,*** result proved that the developed model is effective in recognizing human action by taking less ***,it reduces the computation complexity and overfitting issue through using an optimization approach.
