The autonomous number plate detection system plays a crucial role in modern transportation, law enforcement, and security infrastructure. Technical approaches using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer vision are actively researched to achieve ease of maintenance through real-time vehicle detection. The recent development has drastically improved the accuracy of object detection and recognition systems in deep neural networks. Using these techniques, vehicle number plates can easily be detected autonomously for vehicle identification and tracking. Here, we have used a custom-trained TensorFlow-based number plate detection method to autonomously detect vehicles using images captured by a smartphone, or surveillance camera. It showed an impressive mAP @ 0.5 of 95%, and demonstrated limitations in long-distance detection, leading us to designate it as the optimal vehicle detection model for accuracy. We designed and developed an autonomous number plate detection system for vehicle identification and tracking, which includes web-based, android-based, and embedded-based applications. In addition, we evaluated the proposed autonomous number plate detection system with real-time images and videos. The proposed system achieved real-time vehicle detection and tracking, boasting a commendable 90% detection accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

Piwi-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) function as critical regulators, safeguarding genome stability through mechanisms like transposable element repression and gene stability maintenance, while also being associated with various disease pathways. Developing computationally efficient methods to predict piRNA-disease associations is vital for enhancing disease-specific drug discovery while managing costs. In this study, we present CLPiDA, a novel method for predicting potential piRNA-disease associations. CLPiDA begins by computing gaussian kernel similarities for piRNA-piRNA and disease-disease pairs to establish initial embeddings for piRNAs and diseases. Subsequently, it employs a parameter-sharing online and target network, along with data augmentation techniques, to create a contrastive learning framework. This facilitates the generation of embeddings for piRNAs and diseases using piRNA-disease association pairs. Furthermore, CLPiDA employs a cross-prediction approach to determine association scores for specific piRNAs and diseases. Notably, CLPiDA introduces a novel approach by excluding negative samples, thereby avoiding the introduction of false negatives and enhancing its reliability. Comparative experiments validate CLPiDA's superiority in terms of performance over existing methods. Case studies underscore CLPiDA's efficacy as a valuable tool for predicting piRNA-disease associations, providing valuable insights for biological experiments. In diagnosing challenging conditions such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), while imaging is an important reference, non-image data such as patient information, genetic data, medication information, cognitive and memory tests also play a very important role. However, limited by the ability of artificial intelligence models to mine such information, most of the existing models only use image data, and cannot make comprehensive use of non-image data. We based our approach on an existing pretrained large language model (LLM) to enhance the model's ability to utilize non-image data on diagnosing AD. Our test results on the ADNI dataset show that the approached achieved state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Milling force prediction of titanium alloy plays an important role in titanium alloy milling process. In the article, the milling process of titanium alloy materials is analyzed, and this material quality is affected directly by the milling force. Support vector machine (SVM) has shown prominent performance for many real-world problems. However, SVM computational complexity increases, as the number of samples increases. How to effectively apply it to massive datasets is still a serious challenge. Although there are some literatures on parameter optimization techniques of SVM regression, the performance of this model still needs to be further studied and improved. We present a new milling force predicting model, namely ACO&SVM, which integrate SVM regression with ACO algorithm to enhance the prediction accuracy of milling force for mill process of titanium alloy. The primary innovation feature of hybrid model is to apply the ACO to automatically determine parameters of SVM regression model. In addition, as being applied to discrete optimization, to solve continuous optimization problems, ACO algorithm needs to transform continuous variables into discrete ones by discretizing of continuous variables. The results have shown that proposed ACO&SVM model yields better prediction accuracy, and thus it can be widely applied to the fields of material processing optimization. © 2021. Traffic sign recognition is one of the most critical aspects of autonomous driving. To improve detection accuracy without increasing the number of model parameters too much, this paper uses Conditionally Parameterized Convolutions (condconv) to replace the convolutional blocks in Yolox-s. To understand the transfer of feature maps within the deep learning network, a gradient mapping using Gradient-weighted Class Activation Mapping (Grad-CAM) is used to generate a heat map. As the existing traffic sign dataset does not include data for glare situations, data augmentation was used to simulate traffic signs in a glare context. Experiments show that the proposed improvements can improve detection accuracy (+2.3%) with only a small increase in model parameters (+0.1 {M}). The effectiveness of the proposed data augmentation method is demonstrated by using the trained model for real-world detection. © 2023 IEEE.

Quantum Tomography partially measures and then recovers the remaining density matrix quantum state, in order to verify that a certain device – processor or detector – indeed outputs the intended quantum state. However, single matrix element measurements rapidly increase in number with the density matrix dimension and are error-prone. This work proposes a novel quantum software viewpoint on quantum tomography. Instead of individual matrix elements, measurements and density matrix recovery are performed on higher-abstraction modules, i.e. semantically meaningful groups of matrix elements. Quantum Modules Tomography potentially reduce the necessary number of explicit measurements, while still allowing recovery of the whole density matrix. A Recovery Theorem is formulated and proved: density matrix diagonal measurements suffice to recover the whole system density matrix, in terms of modules. The intellectual and immense attainment of a smart city and auto-mobile vehicles are gradually growing. This growth drives Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET), a broadly operated complex network for inter-vehicular transmission to acquire information relevant to the vehicle location, road condition, traffic congestion, and speed. Generally, this information is procured through an open-source communication, which is susceptible to various security threats. In broad terms, the privacy of data in VANET is considered an imperative task. In this regard, many authentication protocols are formerly initiated for VANET. Most of these protocols are precarious owing to eavesdropping, replay, and impersonation attacks, etc. Furthermore, most existing protocols operates on enormous communication and computation rate, which turns them inadequate for VANET. This paper exhibits a lightweight privacy-preserving authentication protocol for n number of vehicles in VANET using the physical unclonable function (PUF) technique, and offers efficient and secure communication via public channels. Moreover, we evaluate our protocol formally and informally, showing that it is scalable, lightweight, and safe compared to formerly protocols. The rate of computation and communication is less than most related protocols. We also simulate the proposed scheme using the NS-3 simulator to measure its various network performance parameters. As a result, it is apparent through the beheld statistics that the presented protocol is beyond practical, efficient, and reliable for the secure dissemination of information in VANET. © 1967-2012 IEEE.
