In this article,we introduce and study the class of approximately Artinian(Noetherian)C^(*)-algebras,called AR-algebras(AN-algebras),which is a simultaneous generalization of Artinian(Noetherian)C*-algebras and *** study properties such as the ideal property and topological dimension zero for *** particular,we show that a faithful AR or AN algebra is strongly purely infinite iff it is purely infinite iff it is weakly purely *** extends the Kirchberg's O_(∞)-absorption theorem,and implies that a weakly purely infinite C^(*)-algebra is Noetherian iff every its ideal has a full projection.

The challenges posed by cross-scale effects, large computational requirements, high nonlinearity, and complex interactions of multiple physical phenomena constitute major obstacles to the effectiveness and accuracy of welding simulations for large structural components. Therefore, achieving accurate welding simulation to predict and effectively control welding deformation of substantial engineering structural parts is essential to ensure welding quality and improve production efficiency. This paper reviews the current research status of welding numerical simulation of large engineering components, including the establishment of the finite element model,optimization of the heat source model, selection of appropriate finite element calculation method, and the control of welding deformation through optimization algorithm. In addition, the strategies to improve the precision and efficiency of welding numerical simulation and control welding deformation of engineering components are analyzed and discussed. The future development of welding numerical simulation will focus on balancing simulation accuracy and simulation efficiency and optimizing welding parameters to control welding deformation efficiently.

Quantitative measurement of Soot Volume Fraction (SVF) is an essential prerequisite for controlling soot particle emissions from aero-engine combustors. As an in-situ and non-intrusive optical diagnostic technique, Laser-Induced Incandescence (LII) has been increasingly applied for soot concentration quantification in various combustion environments such as laminar flame, vehicle exhaust, internal combustion chamber as well as aero-engine combustor. In this work, we experimentally measured the spatial and temporal distribution of SVF using two-color LII technique at the outlet of a single-sector dual-swirl aero-engine model combustor. The effect of inlet pressure and air preheat temperature on the SVF distribution was separately investigated within a pressure range of 241–425 kPa and a temperature range of 292–500 K. The results show that soot production increases with the inlet pressure but generally decreases with the air preheat temperature. Qualitative analysis was provided to explain the above results of parametric studies. The LII experiments were also conducted under 3 designed conditions to evaluate soot emission under practical operations. Particularly, weak soot emission was detected at the outlet under the idle condition. Our experimental results provide a valuable benchmark for evaluating soot emission in the exhaust plume of this aero-engine combustor during practical operations.

To explore the basis and implementation effects of differential toll rate formulation for expressways, reduce the financial burden of expressway operators, and scientifically guide traffic flow, this study proposes an expressway differential toll rate optimization model. The model is demonstrated using two pilot sections of G25 and G1112 expressways in J province of China, where differential tolling is implemented. Based on the change characteristics of traffic flow and toll amount of the two pilot sections before and after differential tolling, we propose an optimization model of differential toll rate for expressways that maximizes the net revenue of expressway operators while minimizing individual travel impedance. The optimization model is solved using MATLAB, and an optimal differential toll rate scheme by road section, time period, and vehicle type is obtained. The evaluation of the model is based on the net revenue of highway operators and individual travel impedance. The findings reveal that the proposed optimal rate scheme improves the net revenue of road operators while reducing individual travel impedance compared to the original toll rate scheme. Specifically, the differential toll pilot sections of G25 and G1112 can increase net revenue by approximately Rmb25,000,000 and Rmb16,000,000 per month, respectively, and reduce vehicle travel impedance by about Rmb37 and Rmb32 per vehicle. The proposed model balances highway operator revenue with individual travel costs, leading to more sustainable and efficient expressway use, which benefits expressway transportation sustainability. © 2024, Aracne Editrice. Optimization-Inspired Graph Neural Network for Cellular Network Optimization

The rapid development of wireless communications have driven the need for careful optimization of network parameters to improve network performance and reduce operational cost. Traditional methods, however, struggle with the vast number of tunable parameters and lack scalability in diverse network scenarios. To address these challenges, this paper introduces an optimization-inspired bipartite graph neural network (Bi-GNN) approach for scalable network optimization. Our approach leverages the bipartite structure of network topologies, and incorporates a message-passing mechanism by unfolding the Zeroth-Order Block Coordinate Projected Gradient Descent (ZO-BCPGD) algorithm, which ensures not only high-performance optimization but also manageable computational demand. We demonstrate the permutation and dimensionality equivariance property of the Bi-GNN, which significantly enhances the model's generalizability across various network structures and sizes. Furthermore, we theoretically analyze the expressive power and generalization ability of the Bi-GNN, demonstrating its adeptness at complex network optimization tasks. The training process, parallel execution, and practical implementation techniques are also discussed to ensure the model's applicability in real-world scenarios. Numerical results verify that the Bi-GNN outperforms existing methods in both coverage ratios and computational cost. Furthermore, our approach exhibits robust scalability across various network scenarios, making it a versatile tool for optimizing a wide range of wireless networks. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Intersection detection plays a crucial role in localizing and planning the path of autonomous vehicles in urban environments. This paper presents a novel approach, PVWO, for adaptive intersection detection in autonomous vehicles equipped with 3D LiDAR. Firstly, the algorithm removes ground and obstacles effectively, and eliminates noise points. Secondly, a polyarticular viewpoints beam model is applied to detect the type and location of intersections. Thirdly, a linear feature extraction approach in a rolling window is proposed to detect road width and optimize key parameters, enhancing model robustness across different scenes. Compared to parallel intersection detection algorithms, our method exhibits excellent performance under diverse road conditions. Experiments in sparse point clouds show an average precision exceeding 89% and an average processing time of approximately 88 ms/frame. These results demonstrate that our method can accurately detect intersections in real-time, across various road structures. © Beijing HIWING Scientific and Technological Information institute 2024.

Pressure control in deep shale gas horizontal wells can reduce the stress sensitivity of hydraulic fractures and improve the estimated ultimate recovery(EUR).In this study,a hydraulic fracture stress sensitivity model is proposed to characterize the effect of pressure drop rate on fracture ***,a production prediction model is introduced accounting for a non-uniform hydraulic fracture conductivity *** results reveal that increasing the fracture conductivity leads to a rapid daily production increase in the early ***,above 0.50 D·cm,a further increase in the fracture conductivity has a limited effect on shale gas production *** initial production is lower under pressure-controlled conditions than that under *** extended pressure control durations,the cumulative production initially increases and then *** a fracture conductivity of 0.10 D·cm,the increase in production output under controlled-pressure conditions is~35%.For representative deep shale gas wells(Southern Sichuan,China),if the pressure drop rate under controlled-pressure conditions is reduced from 0.19 to 0.04 MPa/d,the EUR increase for 5 years of pressure-controlled production is 41.0 million,with an increase percentage of~29%.

Diverse Co-saliency Feature Learning for Text-Based Person Retrieval

Text-based Person Retrieval (TPR) plays a pivotal role in video surveillance systems for safeguarding public safety. As a fine-grained retrieval task, TPR faces the significant challenge of precisely capturing highly discriminative features across image and text modalities. Existing methods primarily focus on establishing modality-shared feature spaces to bridge cross-modal discrepancies. However, these methods are prone to disturbances from irrelevant information, such as background noises in the visual modality, and often over-emphasize specific local regions while neglecting the capture of diverse discriminative modal features, thereby limiting the robustness of cross-modal matching. In this paper, we introduce a novel framework, termed the Diverse Co-saliency Feature Learning Network (DCFL), which mines the co-saliency information between image and text modalities and enhances the diversity of cross-modal discriminative features while mitigating the interference of noise. Specifically, to construct cross-modal co-saliency features, we devise the Intra-modal Saliency Feature Learning (ISFL) and Cross-modal Saliency Feature Matching (CSFM) modules. ISFL employs a weighted mask mechanism to guide the model in reducing the impact of noise information in both modalities. Complementing ISFL, CSFM establishes consistent relationships between saliency features across modalities, leveraging text descriptions to align pedestrian-relevant visual regions. Furthermore, we propose the Diverse Co-saliency Feature Mining (DCFM) to bolster the diversity of discriminative co-saliency features across both image and text modalities. This module integrates a diversity regularization term, enabling the extraction of varied visual cues and capturing comprehensive features of the target individual. Extensive benchmark experiments demonstrate a substantial superiority of our approach over the state-of-the-art methods. The code will be released publicly. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

Cryptography is a fundamental field in computer science that focuses on securing communication and protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access. It involves the use of mathematical algorithms and techniques to transform plaintext into ciphertext, rendering it unintelligible to anyone without the proper decryption key. Cryptographic systems play a crucial role in ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of data in various domains, including finance, healthcare, e-commerce, and communication networks. In this paper, a double-layer encryption method is proposed that uses the Vigenere and Polybius ciphers to secure communication. The Vigenere cipher is a classical method that uses a keyword to encrypt plaintext, while the Polybius cipher is another classical cipher that uses a grid to map letters to two-digit numbers to encrypt data. By combining these two ciphers, the proposed algorithm aims to enhance the security of the data by introducing a more complex and secure encryption method. The proposed method is implemented using Python programming language with web implementation. The web implementation of the algorithm uses Flask, a Python web framework. This allows users to encrypt and decrypt their data through a user-friendly interface, making it more accessible and practical for real-world use. Based on the obtained results demonstrate that the proposed method provides a higher level of security compared to using each cipher individually, without significantly impacting the encryption and decryption speed. Overall, the proposed double-layer encryption method can be a useful tool for secure communication in various applications. It contributes to the field of cryptography by introducing a novel approach that enhances data security without compromising usability. © 2024 IEEE.
