Sri Lanka's tea business has existed since the 1800s and maintains a high standard worldwide. However, rivalry is increasing as more competitors enter the market, and tea exporters strive to make their operations more cost-effective. The discovery led to the development of a weekly tea price auction prediction model for a selected tea grade, Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings (BOPF), across different elevations. The existing research suggested using Box and Jenkins models over Machine Learning (ML) models such as Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Convolution Neural Networks (CNN). The research also suggested using external factors to improve accuracy. Supply, Demand, and Rainfall were the primary factors. This analysis required data from multiple sources to be combined into one dataset for model building. The tea auction data was from another source, but the rest was in the public domain. For the fourth elevation, the research group employed the SARIMAX variation of Box and Jenkins models to analyze them separately. The results ranged from a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 0.26% to 6.03%, a manageable and acceptable level of risk. For structured Comma Separated (CSV) file inputs, a new function was created to easily extract predictions from the generated model, improving model usability. © 2024 IEEE.

Paddy cultivation is a significant global economic sector, with rice production playing a crucial role in influencing worldwide economies. However, insects in paddy farms predominantly impact the growth rate and ecological equilibrium of the agricultural field. Hence, the precise and timely identification of insects in agricultural settings presents a potential strategy for addressing this issue. This study aims to implement an automated system for paddy farming by employing a real-time framework that incorporates the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain technology, and Deep Learning (DL) algorithms. The primary emphasis of the DL-based system is on the timely identification of pests. In contrast, integrating the IoT and blockchain technologies facilitates stablishing a fully automated system with security within the agricultural domain. The DL-based system includes a secondary dataset of paddy insects, and then preprocessing, feature extraction, and identification have been performed. Besides, an IoT-based system is embodied with a camera module and microprocessor, accompanied by some apparatus required to automate the whole system. In addition, the research also includes the blockchain to secure each individual data transmission among the several IoT components and the cloud server. While examining the proposed solution, various experimental data have been systematically documented and analyzed. The proposed framework attained a peak accuracy of 98.91% using the VGG19 model and ensemble classifiers to detect the pest with a specificity of 99.14% and a precision of 98.21%. The study additionally quantifies the mean duration of the cloud response when integrated with IoT, yielding an average time of 1.71 s after pest identification. Nevertheless, the system has exhibited a high level of efficacy in the context of real-time monitoring and automation of paddy farms. © 2020 IEEE.

In cloud platforms, large amount of energy is consumed by execution of scientific workflow. So, VMs has to be deployed in energy efficient manner. Throughout the world, wide attention is attracted by cloud platform’s energy consumption. Cooling systems, light systems, network peripherals, monitors, console, processor’s cooling fan, server running consumes large amount of power in a cloud data centre. In order to face these issues, energy-aware resource allocation method is proposed in this work, which is termed as EnReal. For execution of scientific workflow, virtual machines are deployed dynamically which focus on current e-health standards and solutions. In general e-health systems, client platform security is not addressed by this method which is an important factor to be considered. In e-health domain infrastructures, for privacy establishment, new particle swarm optimisation (PSO) with cryptography-based security algorithm (PSOCA) is proposed in this work. Controlled environment can be created by this for data’s privacy easy management as well as for security. For experimentation, CloudSim framework is adapted in cloud simulation environment. The identification of influential nodes in social networks is a favoured research area, owing to its use in myriad domains, especially with regards to viral marketing. Centrality measures are the most widely used to assess the influencing capability of nodes, though with the increase in network size the process becomes resource-intensive. In recent times, machine learning (ML) models are also being used to predict the influence spread of nodes, thereby aiding towards the identification of influential nodes. This paper evaluates the efficacy of diverse ML regressor models, employed to forecast the influence potential of the nodes, by taking various features as input vectors in a propagating scenario, under two real-world complex networks. This framework initially generates the feature vectors corresponding to each node using the node's structural and temporal aspects, and infection rates. It employs regression-based ML algorithms to learn the connection between the expected spreading ability of each node and its structural characteristics. Light Gradient Boosting Machine Regressor outperformed the other models with an average mean absolute and mean square error of 0.1232 and 0.1079, respectively. © 2025 IEEE.

The Millimeter-wave radar has become an important sensor for advanced driver assistance systems due to its advantages such as environmental adaptability, low cost and detection accuracy. Most of current vehicle radars use Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology to obtain better angular resolution. Among all MIMO radar waveforms, both CDMA and DDMA meet the requirements of next-generation high-performance radars and may become the mainstream radar waveforms in the future. Performance comparisons of the two waveforms are scattered in a large number of literatures and they are all from a theoretical point of view. At present, there is no literature comparing the practical performance of CDMA and DDMA. AWR6843 is a high-precision millimeter-wave radar sensor widely used in automotive safety, environmental monitoring and other applications. This SOC chip has been adopted in numerous automotive radar products. Thus, based on the data collected by a TI's AWR6843 radar evaluation board, this paper compares the performance of CDMA and DDMA in terms of waveform orthogonality, parameter estimation capability, and processing complexity. In addition, the paper discusses the merits and demerits of each technology and the limitations of its practical application, which provides an important reference for the optimization and technical route selection of future radar systems. © 2025 SPIE.
