This article covers the design, implementation, mathematical modelling, and control of a multivariable, underactuated, low-cost, three-degrees-of-freedom experimental helicopter system (namely a 3-DOF helicopter). The system is considered an essential benchmark for the development and evaluation of control algorithms and identification methods as it mimics real helicopters and UAVs. The system is multivariable and difficult to control due to its underactuation characteristics. In addition, it presents further challenges in modelling and control analysis in terms of high nonlinearity, coupling, uncertainty, and unmodeled dynamics. In this scene, the system is designed, developed, and operated virtually in SolidWorks using the necessary hardware and software. A new accurate multivariable coupled nonlinear mathematical model is derived and proposed. The model takes into account the complex dynamics and interactions between the system components, providing a more comprehensive representation of the real system compared to previous models. System parameters are then identified using the Sum of the Square Error (SSE) algorithm, and the mathematical model is compared to the practical results in many different scenarios via Simulink. Experimental tests confirmed the mathematical model and robust performance of the implemented experimental 3-DOF helicopter system, as well as the ability of the proposed controller to stabilize the helicopter and track different trajectories in the presence of uncertainties and cross-coupling effects. © 2013 IEEE.

In this study, we review the fundamentals of IoT architecture and we thoroughly present the communication protocols that have been invented especially for IoT technology. Using a mobile phone or other portable device to conduct financial transactions online is known as 'mobile banking.' Activities such as verifying one's account balance, transferring funds to another account, making bill payments, and finding a local automated teller machine (ATM) are included under this classification. Due to the significant expenses associated with implementing this technology, Authentication of users, data privacy, non-repudiation, data integrity, and obtainability of services are all areas where people have voiced concerns. The analysis described in this paper introduces a more advantageous and convenient framework for addressing these issues. The proposed approach effectively accomplishes its intended goals via the use of a widely adopted technique known as salting, which involves the application of the Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA512) to obfuscate sensitive information such as user IDs and passwords. The encoding and decoding procedures used the Advanced Encoding Standard (AES) technique while implementing one-time passwords (OTPs) was implemented to enhance user authentication. The design approach used PHP, JScript, CSS, and a MySQL database. The password recovery technique was used to assess the model's credibility and reliability and acquire the outcomes. This program enhances the process of recovering passwords across various scenarios. It intercepts network traffic using dictionary attacks, brute-force assaults, and cryptanalytics attacks to decrypt encrypted passwords. Additionally, it uncovers password bins, retrieves secreted passwords and analyses routing protocols. The gathered findings support the idea's feasibility since the encrypted and hashed data demonstrates resistance to unauthorized access. © 2024 IEEE.

GRU combined model based on multi-objective optimization for short-term residential load forecasting

Reliable and accurate short-term forecasting of residential load plays an important role in DSM. However, the high uncertainty inherent in single-user loads makes them difficult to forecast accurately. Various traditional methods have been used to address the problem of residential load forecasting. A single load forecast model in the traditional method does not allow for comprehensive learning of data characteristics for residential loads, and utilizing RNNs faces the problem of long-term memory with vanishing or exploding gradients in backpropagation. Therefore, a gated GRU combined model based on multi-objective optimization is proposed to improve the short-term residential load forecasting accuracy in this paper. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness, GRUCC-MOP is first experimentally tested with the unimproved model to verify the model performance and forecasting effectiveness. Secondly the method is evaluated experimentally with other excellent forecasting methods: models such as DBN, LSTM, GRU, EMD-DBN and EMD-MODBN. By comparing simulation experiments, the proposed GRU combined model can get better results in terms of MAPE on January, April, July, and November load data, so this proposed method has better performance than other research methods in short-term residential load forecasting. © 2024 - IOS Press. The k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) graph is an essential technique in data mining, machine learning, and computer vision for identifying local data patterns;however, its efficacy is significantly hindered in high-dimensional datasets due to the challenges of the curse of dimensionality, which includes issues like distance concentration and heightened computational requirements. To mitigate these challenges, various strategies, including dimensionality reduction and sophisticated graph construction methods, have been proposed. Outlier detection, vital in domains such as fraud detection and healthcare, similarly faces obstacles in high-dimensional contexts, leading to the development of diverse statistical and learning-based methodologies. This research aims to enhance k-NN graph construction and outlier detection by utilizing sparsification and subspace selection techniques, which effectively capture both local and global outliers through precise estimation of intrinsic dimensionality in localized areas. Furthermore, the study underscores the significance of visualizing high-dimensional data in reduced dimensions to enhance human interpretability, proposing an algorithm that leverages sparsified data representations to improve the accuracy of outlier detection and provide a more efficient framework for high-dimensional data analysis. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

In the context of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), the role of vehicle detection and classification is indispensable for streamlining transportation management, refining traffic control, and conducting in-depth accident analyses. However, the intricate task of accurately detecting multi-oriented vehicles in diverse scenarios remains a challenge, even with the advancements in ITS. Factors such as vehicle morphology, design, road conditions, structural details, and climatic variables provide a significant part in the detection. To address this, our study introduces an advanced YOLOv8n model, specifically the YOLOv8n-CGW, which is built upon pre-trained deep learning frameworks. This model is meticulously tailored to enhance the detection capabilities for multi-oriented vehicles. Comprehensive evaluations on esteemed datasets like MtV, MERGED, Custom dataset, DAWN, WEDGE, and UA-DETRAC underscore the superiority of our approach over existing models. Notably, our YOLOv8n-CGW model achieves a remarkable mAP of 83.3% and boasts a swift inference time of 0.0019s, setting a new benchmark in the domain. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Atmospheric duct (AD) is a natural phenomenon affected by humidity or air pressure diversities, which impacts the propagation of electromagnetic signals. Recent studies have been focused on ADH prediction based on meteorological data which makes the task of real-time ADH prediction challenging and impacts the global representation of ADs leading to maritime communications security issues. We address these issues by discovering a novel way to abstract the spatial and temporal features from the historical data. Thus, we proposed a framework based on DNN models and attention mechanisms to predict the ADH in a real-time form from the abstracted features. Our experimental results demonstrate that our technique improves the performance of real-time prediction and reduces the acquisition cost, professional devices can receive it in real-time through IoT to avoid dangerous areas. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Underwater imaging is frequently challenged by light scattering, leading to haze, color distortion, and visibility loss. To address these issues, we introduce the AquaVision Dehaze and Enhancement algorithm to improve underwater image quality. Extensive testing on a dataset from an aquaculture environment demonstrates that the algorithm significantly enhances image clarity. Quantitative evaluations reveal high performance across various image quality metrics, with scores of UICM (19.6463), UISM (18.1490), UIConM (26.7463), and UIQM (13.3312). Furthermore, the algorithm delivers competitive results in no-reference image quality metrics, including NIQE (3.6780), Entropy (7.5942), PIQE (52.1444), and BRISQUE (35.9847). These results highlight the algorithm's effectiveness in addressing the challenges of underwater imaging and illustrate the effectiveness through an ablation study. The AquaVision Dehaze and Enhancement algorithm offers a robust solution for improving the quality making it a valuable tool for advancing research in aquatic environments. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2024.

Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), while integral to modern healthcare, present challenges for clinical reasoning and diagnosis due to their complexity and information redundancy. To address this, we proposed medIKAL (Integrating Knowledge Graphs as Assistants of LLMs), a framework that combines Large Language Models (LLMs) with knowledge graphs (KGs) to enhance diagnostic capabilities. medIKAL assigns weighted importance to entities in medical records based on their type, enabling precise localization of candidate diseases within KGs. It innovatively employs a residual network-like approach, allowing initial diagnosis by LLMs to be merged into KG search results. Through a path-based reranking algorithm and a fill-in-the-blank style prompt template, it further refined the diagnostic process. We validated medIKAL's effectiveness through extensive experiments on a newly introduced open-sourced Chinese EMR dataset, demonstrating its potential to improve clinical diagnosis in real-world settings.
