Controllable chaos in the coupled waveguide-optomechanical system with phase shifter

We theoretically investigate chaotic dynamics in an optomechanical system composed of a whispering-gallery-mode(WGM)microresonator and a *** find that tuning the optical phase using a phase shifter and modifying the coupling strength via a unidirectional waveguide(IWG)can induce chaotic *** underlying reason for this phenomenon is that adjusting the phase and coupling strength via the phase shifter and IWG bring the system close to an exceptional point(EP),where field localization dynamically enhances the optomechanical nonlinearity,leading to the generation of chaotic *** addition,due to the sensitivity of chaos to phase in the vicinity of the EP,we propose a theoretical scheme to measure the optical phase perturbations using *** work may offer an alternative approach to chaos generation with current experimental technology and provide theoretical guidance for optical signal processing and chaotic secure communication.

Properties of Solid Waste-based Solidified Sludge Improved by Microbially Induced Calcium Carbonate Precipitation technology

We examined the enhancing effects of different dosages of product of Centrifugation of Bacterial Liquid(product of CBL)on the performance of slag-fGD gypsum-cement-bentonite-sludge system using MICP *** analyzed the multifaceted performance of the solidified sludge from macroscopic and microscopic *** experimental results reveal that the increase in product of CBL dosage results in positive impacts on the solidified sludge,including higher side compressive strength,lower leachate heavy metal concentration,and improved crack repair *** a 0.4%product of CBL doping concentration,the strength of the solidified sludge is enhanced by 26.6%at 3 d,61.2%at 7 d,and 13.9%at 28 d when compared to the unmodified solidified *** 28 days,the concentrations of Zn and Cu ions reduce by 58%and 18%,respectively,and the crack repair rate is 58.4%.These results demonstrate that the increase in heavy metal concentration in the leachate leads to an increase in the strength of the solidified *** strengthening procedure heavily relies on the mineralisation reaction of Bacillus pasteurii,which produces a substantial amount of CaCO_(3)to cement the particles and fill the pores *** modified solidifying sludge exhibits a self-repairing effect and an enhanced multifaceted performance as a result of oxygen being restored after crack formation and reactivation of Bacillus *** conditions facilitate the body's recovery.

4,4-Dimethylsterols constitute a unique class of phytosterols responsible for regulating endogenous cannabinoid system(ECS)***,precise mechanism through which 4,4-dimethylsterols affect fat metabolism and the linkage to the ECS remain *** this study,we identified that 4,4-dimethylsterols,distinct from 4-demethseterols,act as inhibitors of fatty acid amide hydrolases(FAAHs)both in vivo and in *** ablation of FAAHs(faah-1)abolishes the effects of 4,4-dimethylsterols on fat accumulation and locomotion behavior in a Caenorhabditis elegans *** confirmed that dietary intervention with 4,4-dimethylsterols in a high-fat diet(HFD)mouse model leads to a significant reduction in body weight(>11.28%)with improved lipid profiles in the liver and adipose tissues and increased fecal triacylglycerol *** and targeted metabolomics further verified that 4,4-dimethylsterols influence unsaturated fatty acid biosynthesis and elevate oleoyl ethanolamine levels in the *** propose a potential molecular mechanism in which 4,4-dimethylsterols engage in binding interactions with the catalytic pocket(Ser241)of FAAH-1 protein due to the shielded polarity,arising from the presence of 2 additional methyl groups(CH3).Consequently,4,4-dimethylsterols represent an unexplored class of beneficial phytosterols that coordinate with FAAH-1 activity to reduce fat accumulation,which offers new insight into intervention strategies for treating diet-induced obesity.

In-situ Photo-deposition of Nd-modified Hexahydroxy Strontium Stannate Nanorods with Enhanced Photocatalytic Performance

Background: Metal surface modification of the photocatalysts is effective for enhancing the photocatalytic properties of the semiconductor photocatalysts. Nd can be used as the modified metal for the enhancement of catalytic performance of the strontium tin hydroxide (SrSn(OH)6) nanorods due to expanding the light absorption range and reducing the recombination of the photo-generated electrons and holes. Objective: The aim of the research is to synthesize Nd-modified SrSn(OH)6 nanorods and investigate the enhanced photocatalytic performance for crystal violet degradation. Methods: Nd modified SrSn(OH)6 nanorods were prepared via a facile one-step in-situ photodeposition route. The obtained nanorods were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron mi-croscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, solid diffuse reflectance spectra, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and electrochemical impedance spectros-copy. Results: Nd attached to the surface of nanorods. The band gap of the Nd-modified SrSn(OH)6 nano-rods was reduced due to Nd modification at the surface of nanorods. The Nd-modified SrSn(OH)6 na-norods showed enhanced photocatalytic properties for crystal violet (CV) degradation under ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation than the SrSn(OH)6 nanorods. Nd modified SrSn(OH)6 nanorods have lower charge transfer resistance and more efficient charge separation ability, thus hindering the recombination of the electrons and holes (e−/h+) pairs. Scavenger experiments reported that the holes, superoxide, and hydroxyl radicals are the main reactive species during the photocatalytic reaction. The Nd-modified SrSn(OH)6 nanorods were found to be recoverable and reusable for CV degradation. Conclusion: The Nd modified SrSn(OH)6 nanorods showed enhanced photocatalytic performance towards crystal violet than un-modified nanorods. © 2023, Bentham science Publishers. All rights reserved.

Communication between people with disabilities and people who do not understand sign language is a growing social need and can be a tedious *** of the main functions of sign language is to communicate with each other through hand *** of hand gestures has become an important challenge for the recognition of sign *** are many existing models that can produce a good accuracy,but if the model test with rotated or translated images,they may face some difficulties to make good performance *** resolve these challenges of hand gesture recognition,we proposed a Rotation,Translation and Scale-invariant sign word recognition system using a convolu-tional neural network(CNN).We have followed three steps in our work:rotated,translated and scaled(RTS)version dataset generation,gesture segmentation,and sign word ***,we have enlarged a benchmark dataset of 20 sign words by making different amounts of Rotation,Translation and Scale of the ori-ginal images to create the RTS version *** we have applied the gesture segmentation *** segmentation consists of three levels,i)Otsu Thresholding with YCbCr,ii)Morphological analysis:dilation through opening morphology and iii)Watershed ***,our designed CNN model has been trained to classify the hand gesture as well as the sign *** model has been evaluated using the twenty sign word dataset,five sign word dataset and the RTS version of these *** achieved 99.30%accuracy from the twenty sign word dataset evaluation,99.10%accuracy from the RTS version of the twenty sign word evolution,100%accuracy from thefive sign word dataset evaluation,and 98.00%accuracy from the RTS versionfive sign word dataset ***,the influence of our model exists in competitive results with state-of-the-art methods in sign word recognition.

Within the electronic design automation(EDA) domain, artificial intelligence(AI)-driven solutions have emerged as formidable tools, yet they typically augment rather than redefine existing methodologies. These solutions often repurpose deep learning models from other domains, such as vision, text, and graph analytics, applying them to circuit design without tailoring to the unique complexities of electronic circuits. Such an “AI4EDA” approach falls short of achieving a holistic design synthesis and understanding,overlooking the intricate interplay of electrical, logical, and physical facets of circuit data. This study argues for a paradigm shift from AI4EDA towards AI-rooted EDA from the ground up, integrating AI at the core of the design process. Pivotal to this vision is the development of a multimodal circuit representation learning technique, poised to provide a comprehensive understanding by harmonizing and extracting insights from varied data sources, such as functional specifications, register-transfer level(RTL) designs, circuit netlists,and physical layouts. We champion the creation of large circuit models(LCMs) that are inherently multimodal, crafted to decode and express the rich semantics and structures of circuit data, thus fostering more resilient, efficient, and inventive design methodologies. Embracing this AI-rooted philosophy, we foresee a trajectory that transcends the current innovation plateau in EDA, igniting a profound “shift-left” in electronic design methodology. The envisioned advancements herald not just an evolution of existing EDA tools but a revolution, giving rise to novel instruments of design-tools that promise to radically enhance design productivity and inaugurate a new epoch where the optimization of circuit performance, power, and area(PPA) is achieved not incrementally, but through leaps that redefine the benchmarks of electronic systems' capabilities.

Dynamic temporal information and static connectivity information derived from functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) can assist in the diagnosis of neurological disorders. However, existing disease diagnosis methods primarily rely on information from a single view, neglecting the advantages of multi-view information fusion. In this work, we propose an end-to-end multi-view fusion method that pre-trains on one view of fMRI data and fine-tunes on another view for disease identification. First, the dynamic temporal information and static connectivity information are integrated during the pre-training stage based on the consistency between the two views, effectively combining complementary information from both data types to improve disease identification accuracy. Finally, in the fine-tuning stage, for different fine-tuning datasets, we combine the residual connections in the model with the self-attention mechanism through the hadamard product. This guides the learning process and can be seen as a form of regularization or inductive bias, enhancing the models ability to learn from the data. Experiments conducted on the ADHD-200 dataset demonstrate that: 1) our method effectively fuses temporal and connectivity information from fMRI, improving the accuracy of brain disorder identification;2) analyzing the consistency between the two views validates the effectiveness of the pre-training strategy and its positive impact on accuracy;3) the residual attention maps of the model fine-tuned with functional connectivity networks (FCN) capture distinct symmetrical connections, which align with the inherent symmetry of FCN, supporting the rationale for using the hadamard product. © 2025 IEEE.
