This article is based on the DeMilk idea, using a smartphone to collect the sound of bottled milk shaking left and right, and using a BP neural network to identify different milk residual characteristics, in order to achieve the goal of detecting the remaining amount of bottled milk. The length of the air column in a milk bottle varies, and the sound it emits also varies. Identifying sound under different air columns can lay the foundation for further comprehensive consideration of other parameters and conditions for sound recognition. To identify different milk air column sounds, a three-layer BP neural network was designed, and the collected sounds were first decomposed using wavelet packets to obtain the energy of the decomposed components in each frequency range. After normalization, a feature vector was formed. The processed signals were then divided into training and testing sample sets for training and testing the network. The test results indicate that the network has the characteristics of fast training speed and high recognition accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

Synthesis of Branched Polyethylene via Bulky α-Diimine Nickel(II)-Catalyzed Ethylene Chain-Walking Polymerization

The catalysis of olefin polymerization through the chain-walking process is a subject of great interest. In this contribution, the successful synthesis of a Brookhart-type unsymmetrical α-diimine nickel catalyst Ni, which contains both dibenzhydryl and phenyl groups, was determined by X-ray crystallography. The compound has a pseudo-tetrahedral geometry at the Ni center, showing pseudo-C2-symmetry. Upon activation with modified methylaluminoxane (MMAO), Ni1 exhibits high catalytic activity up to 1.02 × 107 g PE (mol Ni h)−1 toward ethylene polymerization, enabling the synthesis of high molecular weight branched polyethylene. The molecular weights and branching densities could be tuned over a very wide range. The polymerization results indicated the possibility of precise microstructure control, depending on the polymerization temperature. The branching densities were decreased with increasing the polymerization temperature.

This paper introduces a particle-based framework for simulating the behavior of elastoplastic materials and the formation of fractures, grounded in Peridynamic theory. Traditional approaches, such as the Finite Element Method (FEM) and Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), to modeling elastic materials have primarily relied on discretization techniques and continuous constitutive model. However, accurately capturing fracture and crack development in elastoplastic materials poses significant challenges for these conventional models. Our approach integrates a Peridynamic-based elastic model with a density constraint, enhancing stability and realism. We adopt the Von Mises yield criterion and a bond stretch criterion to simulate plastic deformation and fracture formation, respectively. The proposed method stabilizes the elastic model through a density-based position constraint, while plasticity is modeled using the Von Mises yield criterion within the bond of particle paris. Fracturing and the generation of fine fragments are facilitated by the fracture criterion and the application of complementarity operations to the inter-particle connections. Our experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of our framework in realistically depicting a wide range of material behaviors, including elasticity, plasticity, and fracturing, across various scenarios. © 2024 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

In recent years, the attention of sports events has been rapidly improved. The method of multi-target tracking can better help fans analyze sports games. This paper studies and discusses the target tracking method and application of sports broadcast video. The target tracking method adopts the multi-target tracking method combining yolov5 and deepsort. This method is one of the most commonly used multi-target tracking methods. It realizes multi-target tracking through two stages. Firstly, yolov5 is used for target detection, and then deepsort is used for Hungarian matching and Kalman filtering to realize multi-target tracking. In this paper, the experiments of target detection and multi-target tracking are carried out respectively, and the best multi-target tracking model is obtained through statistical data and analysis of the final experimental results. In addition, this paper adds the functions of target trajectory drawing and video editing to video tracking to better help fans analyze sports broadcast video. © 2023 IEEE.

It is an issue of great significance in detecting sunflower leaf diseases. This research paper fills that gap using the collective intelligence of distributed data sources through a federated learning (FL) framework. The CNN classifier model is employed for training. With sunflower being an economically important crop and leaf diseases lowering the yield, our research proposes a novel approach where associations are made among data for each client (owning different datasets for five classes of leaf diseases) that are fused to enhance disease detection and produce actionable images. Our FL concept not only protects user privacy and ensures model consistency but also allows customers to support the development of a global model by delivering their data only to a centralized server. It was observed that the proposed approach has the potential to be successful and effective as the experimental results of the presented results confirmed it. The FL model demonstrates an impressive level of performance in the figures on the data on the performance and disease classification shown with macro, micro, and weighted averages, which depict a well-balanced approach. The macro average scores depict the model working well with precision, recall, and the F1-scores of 85.31 to 91.85, respectively, for customers vi-1 through vf-5. The weighted average (with the class imbalance included) also gives high scores, pointing out precision within a range of 85.32 to 91.86, similar to the micro-average values. The only difference is in the range of these values. © 2024 IEEE.

Cengong County is a traditional agricultural county in Guizhou province. Extreme temperature difference between day and night has a significant impact on the development of local agriculture. In order to analyze the distribution characteristics of extreme day-night temperature difference in the local area, a Generalized Extreme Value(GEV) model was constructed. Firstly, according to the relevant theory of GEV modeling, this paper extracts the daily temperature difference between day and night in Cengong County from 1960 to 2022, takes one year as the grouping unit, and calculates the maximum value in each group, so as to obtain the sample data needed for modeling. Then, the Maximum Likelihood Estimation(MLE) and Profile Likelihood Estimation(PLE) are used to solve the model parameter estimates. Secondly, the grouping length has a significant impact on the accuracy of the model, so the stability of the model under different grouping intervals is analyzed. The last, the return level is calculated under the different return period. The results showed that the maximum temperature difference between day and night in Cengong County obeyed Weibull distribution with an upper limit, and the theoretical upper limit was 26.819C°. The model had good extrapolation ability. © 2024 IEEE.

Software-defined networking (SDN) can provide flexible traffic control and is an important part of the next-generation computer network. Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack targeting the controller can seriously affect the performance of SDN. Although there are many schemes to detect and defend against this type of attack, the detection accuracy and efficiency of these schemes are severely limited due to the large scale and high dimension of traffic in SDN. According to the characteristics of SDN, this paper presents a new feature selection method to detect and defend against DDoS attacks targeting the controller. Firstly, Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient and Gini impurity were used to extract the optimal feature subset. Then the attack detection module will detect the DDoS attack. Finally, attack defense module is introduced to filter attack packets and protect controller computing resources. We used the NSL-KDD dataset for evaluation and comparison with other schemes. Experimental results show that our scheme can detect and defend against DDoS attacks accurately. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Detecting few-shot emerging pests in the wild presents a significant challenge in the field of agricultural computer vision. However, there has been minimal research focused on generating emerging pest images with different natural scenarios that align with the authentic pest living environments. With the advent of the controllable generative stable diffusion model recent years, we proposed an innovative image generation method based on stable diffusion techniques as well as introducing text prompt and coordinate information into the vanilla model. Both qualitative and quantitative experimental results demonstrate that our proposed approach can generate anthropomorphic images which are both visually recognized by human experts and various image quality assessment performance metrics. © 2024 IEEE.

The load balancing strategy in the traditional network architecture system is limited to the limitations of the closed operating system of the network device and cannot effectively meet various communication environments. In SDN, a new network architecture with open programming, the load balancing system architecture of the SDN data center is designed. The traffic classification module is used to distinguish large and small flows. A load balancing mechanism based on the improved ant colony optimization is proposed for the forwarding of large flows. A weighted ECMP load balancing mechanism is used for the forwarding of small flows. The improved ant colony optimization considers the difference in link load status and optimizes the parameters of the ant colony optimization. Through experimental simulation and comparison with traditional load balancing algorithms ECMP and DLB algorithms, the advantages of the optimized ant colony optimization in terms of delay jitter, average link utilization and other indicators are verified. © 2024 SPIE.
