Construction and evaluation of it security domain-specific vocabulary

The volume of published scientific literature available on Internet has been increasing exponentially. Some of them reflect the latest achievement of the specific research domain. In recent years, many projects have been funded aiming to online scientific literature mining, especially in biomedical research. Scientific literature covers most of the hot topics in the research field and has a very large domain-specific vocabulary. The exploitation of domain knowledge and specialized vocabulary can dramatically improve the result of literature text processing. To evaluate the discriminating capability of vocabularies automatically constructed from domain and non-domain specific corpus, the concept of discrimination index defined by Cosine similarity and Jicard distance was introduced. To validate the effectiveness of domain-specific vocabulary, a large-scale corpus was built from abstract content in IT security literature retrieved from open literature database and annotated manually by experts. Domain vocabularies of single word-vocabulary and co-occurrence phrase-vocabulary were constructed from positive and negative corpus with TF/IDF-like schema. The paper firstly carried some discussion on soundness of its customized seed keywords submit to do "AND"-mode search by retrieval efficiency analysis, it also presented yearly distribution analysis on the retrieved paper and ranked phrases in different vocabularies. The discrimination index values between these vocabularies show that domain vocabulary is more representative and the experimental result of document classification confirms the effectiveness of domain-specific vocabulary although there is no much difference in performance between single word -vocabulary and bi-lexical co-occurrence domain vocabulary.

This paper presents a new morphing method based on the ＂as-rigid-as-possible＂ approach. Unlike the original as-rigid-as-possible method, we avoid the need to construct a consistent tetrahedral mesh, but instead require a consistent triangle surface mesh and from it create a tetrahedron for each surface triangle. Our new approach has several significant advantages. It is much easier to create a consistent triangle mesh than to create a consistent tetrahedral mesh. Secondly, the equations arising from our approach can be solved much more efficiently than the corresponding equations for a tetrahedral mesh. Finally, by incorporating the translation vector in the energy functional controlling interpolation, our new method does not need the user to arbitrarily fix any vertex to obtain a solution, allowing artists automatic control of interpolated mesh positions.

Cloud computing is one of the most significant latest efforts in the field of information technology, which may change the way how information services are provisioned. In a Cloud environment, different types of resources need to be virtualized as a collection of Cloud services using virtualization technology. End-users in the Cloud are usually provided with customized Cloud services that involve not only different kinds of computing services but also the networks interconnecting those computing services. Therefore, a set of Cloud computing services and the networking services should be modeled as a composite customized Cloud service. In this paper, we present an improved model for Cloud service provisioning based on our previous Network-Cloud proposal, and propose a procedure with several QoS-aware service selection algorithms for composing different services offered by a Cloud. Our analysis with numerical experiments show that the presented algorithms can select services appropriately that deal with different requirements of service provisioning.

R-Vivaldi: Distance range-aware IP network coordinate system

The experience showed that the predicted delay's accuracy was improved when the nodes were chosen around the given delay as anchors. Thus a distance range-aware IP network coordinate system(R-Vivaldi) was proposed. The main idea was: according to the approximate range of the predicted delay, the anchors were re-selected in the radius area of the approximate range to compute the new range. In accordance with the above process, the coordinate system constantly iterated the network distance and dynamically chose anchors until the prediction accuracy meet the requirement. Experiments show that the approach can not only effectively improve the prediction accuracy of delay but also overcome inconsistencies of the prediction accuracy to a certain extent.

An accurate measurement or estimation of dynamic modulus (|E*|) of a hot mix asphalt (HMA) mix is important to understand stress-strain behavior of flexible pavements under loading and unloading conditions. The Mechanistic Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) (Transportation Research Board, Washington, D.C., 2004) recommends that |E*| be used in all three levels of design (i.e., Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3). For Level 1, |E*| is measured in the laboratory, while it is estimated using the Witczak models for Level 2 and Level 3 designs. The measurement of |E*| in the laboratory is not always feasible because it requires costly equipment and skilled personnel. Consequently, use of empirical models seems to be a reasonable approach to estimate |E*|. Several researchers have reported that the accuracy of the Witczak models varies with local materials and volumetric properties. The present study was undertaken to compare the measured and the estimated |E*| for some commonly used mixes in Oklahoma. Specifically, |E*| of five different HMA mixes, comprised of aggregates from several sources and sizes, binder grades, and air voids, were measured in the laboratory. The Witczak 1999 model (Andrei et al., 1999) was used to estimate |E*| for each of these mixes. A comparison was made between the measured and the estimated |E*| at four different levels of air voids, namely, 6%, 8%, 10%, and 12%. It was observed that the Witczak 1999 model overestimates |E*| at all four levels of air voids. To address these overestimates, the Witczak 1999 model was calibrated. The calibrated model was similar in form to the Witczak 1999 model but having different numerical coefficients. Verification of this model was done using a mix that was not used in the calibration process. Furthermore, two full depth field cores were obtained to further verify the accuracy of the calibrated model. The revenue between Dutch auction, American auction and hybrid auction can not be compared by auction theory. The paper establishes a statistical empirical model and uses the data of China's treasury auction market to examine the revenue between Dutch auction, American auction and hybrid auction. The paper has three important conclusions and the hybrid auction can prevent the winner's course and collusion. It is the better treasury auction format for the seller.

Using impedance method to deduct flexibility matrix of double constrained system, anti-resonance equivalent constrained system and unilaterally constrained system with two-degrees of freedom. A visualization method contains more information is used to draw Bode diagram. The simulation and measurement indicates that characteristic parameter between resonant frequency and anti-resonant frequency must be considered in railway bridges building. This method is of important engineering value in effective control resonance and anti-resonance when moving load on bridge. © 2011 IEEE.
