Data exchange is the kernel of distributed computing, and data sharing and exchange is one of the crucial problems in data systems over the wide area network. This paper proposes a new data exchange protocol based on Web Services, which defines service primitives and operation rules so as to provide a reliable transmission between both structured and unstructured data. Besides, it can resume transmission after break point. A univ.rsal data exchange platform based on Web Services is designed and implemented with respect to the proposed data exchange protocol, the transmission and adaptor mechanisms of which are also discussed. Furthermore, this paper proposes a new method using sliding windows for transmitting SOAP messages to improve the transmitting efficiency during data exchange, which would speed up SOAP message transmitting. Simulation results show that transmission efficiency and data exchange reliability are effectively improved.

Delay and Tolerant Networks (DTNs) have been proposed to address data communication challenges in network scenarios, where no instantaneous end-to-end path is guaranteed because of frequent and long duration network partitions. Typical protocols forward a message to multiple nodes to improve message delivery rate. However, a large number of replications of original messages consume a large amount of system resources that are quite limited in such scenarios. History and Grouping based Probabilistic Routing (HGPR) is proposed in this paper to reduce the number of replications by limiting the range of message “infection” of Epidemic. Nodes are divided into different groups, and the “epidemic” only happens within certain groups. History contacts information is used for group selecting in HGPR. Simulation results show that HGPR performs better than both Epidemic and PROPHET in the community scenario, and it outperforms G-Epidemic in some metrics.

For each service class, there exist many alternative web services that provide the same functionality and different quality parameters, to find an optimal composition, most service selection approach in decentralized environment enumerate all possible combinations of service candidates. However, with the growing number of alternative services, those approaches will achieve a poor performance. To improve the performance, in this paper we proposed a QoS decomposition approach, that divide the global constraints into separate ones for each involved service class. With the separate constraints, each service class engages in service selection independently and simultaneously. Moreover, besides sequential pattern our approach also supports parallel pattern. Experimental results indicate that our approach performs efficiently and can achieve near-optimal solutions.

In large-scale object tracking wireless sensor networks, multiple mobile nodes will bring large amount of communication overheads in maintaining the accuracy of localization tracking, which would possibly affect the collection and dissemination of the tracking data, seriously. Existing seminar works purely focus on achieving optimal tracking accuracy and suffer from large amount of protocol overhead, due to lacking of adaptations on various accuracy requirements for different tracking applications. In this paper, we propose a prediction based object tracking protocol for tiered accuracy requirements. The tired accuracy requirements are perceived by each entity so as to establish a unified predicted model for the moving objects and the sink nodes. Moreover, the network entities could share the corresponding model parameters to others related, thus, all the interested entities use the same model to predict the moving objects and the corresponded sink location, so as to achieve a precise location. In this approach, the system achieves efficient data distribution and information sharing to reduce communication overheads, such that tiered application requirements are satisfied. An optimal model on vehicular mobility in analytical form is made, employing the trace generated by kinematic model and the data collected in real experiments. In that, we set up a simulation environment in evaluating our protocol using Qualnet, a validated commercial simulation platform. Simulation results show that, the proposed algorithm can effectively improve network efficiency and successfully satisfy different level of application requirements. © 2010 IEEE.

For preemptive scheduling, the discrete scheduling has the same capability as the continuous scheduling. However, most work previously done has been focused on the continuous scheduling. In this paper, a discrete analysis approach Empty-Slots method is discussed and applied to fixed priority scheduling for constraint-deadline task model. Then a new schedulability test using the Empty-Slots method is presented. Compared with classical schedulability tests for continuous scheduling, this test is more convenient to be used and more efficient to tackle practical problems. © 2010 IEEE.

The generating rule method is presented for incompatible and incomplete information of test data based on Bayesian theory. Firstly, the rule's conditional probability is calculated when the certainty (reliability) of the test data is the prior probability and the samples (supportability) is posterior probability. Then, Those rules whose conditional probability is bigger than a given threshold value should be preserved. Lastly, the rule is generated by logic conjunction and disjunction of all the preserved rules. The example and application analysis indicate that the algorithm is clear, the calculating process is simple and it can be easily applied to computer programs, moreover, this method can avoid the knowledge distortion and the rule losing to the maximum for generating rule.

According to target system of engineering project, the definition of construction reliability of engineering project was proposed that was the ability of safely getting required project quality under restrictive conditions of time and cost in process of engineering construction. In the light of compositionality and hierarchy of construction system, pyramid model was built and based on BDD algorithm, disjointed minimal path set method was introduced to calculate construction reliability. The result provides theoretical basis for later research on construction project target optimization and it is useful try for the combination of system reliability and project management.

This Letter describes a model-independent search for the production of new resonant states in photon+jet events in 2.11 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at s=7 TeV. We compare the photon+jet mass distribution to a background model derived from data and find consistency with the background-only hypothesis. Given the lack of evidence for a signal, we set 95% credibility level limits on generic Gaussian-shaped signals and on a benchmark excited-quark (q*) model, excluding 2 TeV Gaussian resonances with cross section times branching fraction times acceptance times efficiency near 5 fb and excluding q* masses below 2.46 TeV, respectively.
