A novel coarse-grained knowledge graph embedding framework for platform risk identification from relational data

Platform risk identification from relational data aims to determine whether the target platforms are risky or not. However, in such a scenario, the relation data involve massive types of relations and numerous numerical-aware relations composed of attributes and infinite continuous values are challenges in this field. It is paramount to capture semantic information of relations and precise control power, drastically affecting the power of learning and the performance of identifying risky platforms. Recent financial risk studies often employed graph neural networks (GNNs) to model relational data, which fall short of capturing the intricacies of such complex relationships resulting in incorrect identification of platforms. To solve this problem, we propose a novel coarse-grained knowledge graph embedding (CKGE) framework that integrates coarse-grained knowledge graph construction and adopts five well-known knowledge graph embedding methods and ensemble learning. The extensive experimental results based on a real-world peer-to-peer lending platform dataset demonstrate that the CKGE framework achieves state of the art over GNNs for platform risk identification. Our study highlights the importance of utilizing the relational data of multi-type and multi-numerical relations for revealing platform risk situations and provides an alternative solution for identifying platform risk. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

Epilepsy is a life-threatening and challenging neurological disorder, and applying an electroencephalogram (EEG) is a commonly used clinical approach for its detection. Neuropsychological research indicates that epilepsy seizures are highly associated with distinct ranges of temporal EEG patterns. Although previous attempts to automatically detect epilepsy have achieved high classification performance, one crucial challenge still remains: how to effectively learn the robust global-local representation associated with epilepsy in the signals? To address the above challenge, we propose global-local neural epilepsy detection network (GlepNet), a novel architecture for automatic EEG epilepsy detection. We interleave the temporal convolution model together with the multihead attention mechanism within the GlepNet's encoder blocks to jointly capture the interlaced epilepsy seizure local and global features in EEG signals. Meanwhile, the interpretable method, gradient-weighted class activation mapping (Grad-CAM), is applied to visually confirm that the GlepNet acquires the ability to accord significant weight to EEG segments containing epileptiform abnormalities such as spike-wave complexes. Specifically, the Grad-CAM heatmaps are generated by backpropagating the gradients from the encoder blocks to highlight the epilepsy seizure-related parts. Extensive experiments show the superiority of the GlepNet over state-of-the-art methods on multiple EEG epilepsy datasets. The code will soon be open-sourced on GitHub. © 2024 IEEE.

The technology of speech emotion recognition (SER) has been widely applied in the field of human-computer interaction within the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). The incorporation of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data has accelerated the advancement of SER technology. However, this reveals challenges such as limited computational resources, data processing inefficiency, and security and privacy concerns. In recent years, quantum machine learning has been applied to the field of intelligent transportation, which has demonstrated its various advantages, including high prediction accuracy, robust noise resistance, and strong security. This study first integrates quantum federated learning (QFL) into 5G IoV using a quantum minimal gated unit (QMGU) recurrent neural network for local training. Then, it proposes a novel quantum federated learning algorithm, QFSM, to further enhance computational efficiency and privacy protection. Experimental results demonstrate that compared to existing algorithms using quantum long short-term memory network or quantum gated recurrent unit models, the QFSM algorithm has a higher recognition accuracy and faster training convergence rate. It also performs better in terms of privacy protection and noise robustness, enhancing its applicability and practicality. IEEE

Colored Petri nets (CPNs) provide descriptions of the concurrent behaviors for software and hardware. Model checking based on CPNs is an effective method to simulate and verify the concurrent behavior in system design. However, the model-checking method traverses the full state space, which suffers from the state-space explosion problem. A reduced state-space generation method related to the property of concurrent systems is proposed. Specifically, we extend CPNs to define a property-related model (CPN-PR) and give a property-related analysis method whose results can be used to generate the CPN-PR model. A reduced state-space generation method is developed based on enabled binding element filtering rules. The stutter trace equivalence between the state spaces of CPN and CPN-PR has been proven by showing that the reduced state space may not change the model-checking result. A comparison experiment is conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

It is possible to tell a lot about a person just by looking at their handwriting. The way someone writes might tell you a lot about who, they are as a person. There has been a lot of study on the possibility of deducing aspects of a person’s character from their handwriting. In this piece, we’ll look at the different personality qualities and how they might be utilized to make an evaluation. The report includes a dataset showing a correlation between several traits of personality. The Big Five Personality Traits are mapped using handwritten personality data. It was suggested that a comparison table should be used to spot distinctive character quirks. The article includes a review of previous studies and an assessment of the current status of the topic. Ghost Module Based Residual Mixture of Self-Attention and Convolution for Online Signature Verification

Online Signature Verification (OSV), as a personal identification technology, is widely used in various ***, it faces challenges, such as incomplete feature extraction, low accuracy, and computational heaviness. Toaddress these issues, we propose a novel approach for online signature verification, using a one-dimensionalGhost-ACmix Residual Network (1D-ACGRNet), which is a Ghost-ACmix Residual Network that combines convolutionwith a self-attention mechanism and performs improvement by using Ghost method. The Ghost-ACmix Residualstructure is introduced to leverage both self-attention and convolution mechanisms for capturing global featureinformation and extracting local information, effectively complementing whole and local signature features andmitigating the problem of insufficient feature extraction. Then, the Ghost-based Convolution and Self-Attention(ACG) block is proposed to simplify the common parts between convolution and self-attention using the Ghostmodule and employ feature transformation to obtain intermediate features, thus reducing computational ***, feature selection is performed using the random forestmethod, and the data is dimensionally reducedusing Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Finally, tests are implemented on the MCYT-100 datasets and theSVC-2004 Task2 datasets, and the equal error rates (EERs) for small-sample training using five genuine andforged signatures are 3.07% and 4.17%, respectively. The EERs for training with ten genuine and forged signaturesare 0.91% and 2.12% on the respective datasets. The experimental results illustrate that the proposed approacheffectively enhances the accuracy of online signature verification.

Leukemia, a malignant disease characterized by the rapid proliferation of specific types of white blood cells (WBC), has prompted increased interest in leveraging automatic WBC classification system. This study presents the design of a robust WBC classification system, integrating deep learning with microscopic image analysis. The proposed classification model is designed to categorize blood cells into four distinct groups: eosinophil, lymphocyte, monocyte, and neutrophil. The study employs a Kaggle image dataset for comprehensive learning. The dataset comprises 12,500 microscopic images used to categorize the four blood cell groups. To enhance performance and reduce the likelihood of overfitting, transfer learning techniques are employed. Six deep transfer learning models namely VGG16, ResNet50, AlexNet, MobileNet, GoogLeNet, and EfficientNetBO are used for feature extraction and classification. The results of the experiments show that VGG16 and MobileNet demonstrated enhancements compared to other pre-trained models when evaluated on both augmented and original datasets. A diverse set of evaluation criteria was employed to thoroughly assess the effectiveness of medical image classification. Notably, the VGG16 and MobileNet models accurately predicted Lymphocytes and Monocytes with a 100% accuracy rate, and Eosinophil and Neutrophil with rates of 99.35% and 99.81%, respectively. This research work empower medical practitioners, particularly in the field of pathology and hematology by providing advanced tools for accurate blood cell classification. The proposed VGG16 and MobileNet models hold promise for simplifying WBC classification, improving decision-making processes, and ultimately advancing patient care in the medical domain. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

ICCG:low-cost and efficient consistency with adaptive synchronization for metadata replication

The rapid growth in the storage scale of wide-area distributed file systems (DFS) calls for fast and scalable metadata management. Metadata replication is the widely used technique for improving the performance and scalability of metadata management. Because of the POSIX requirement of file systems, many existing metadata management techniques utilize a costly design for the sake of metadata consistency, leading to unacceptable performance overhead. We propose a new metadata consistency maintenance method (ICCG), which includes an incremental consistency guaranteed directory tree synchronization (ICGDT) and a causal consistency guaranteed replica index synchronization (CCGRI), to ensure system performance without sacrificing metadata consistency. ICGDT uses a flexible consistency scheme based on the state of files and directories maintained through the conflict state tree to provide an incremental consistency for metadata, which satisfies both metadata consistency and performance requirements. CCGRI ensures low latency and consistent access to data by establishing a causal consistency for replica indexes through multi-version extent trees and logical time. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our methods. Compared with the strong consistency policies widely used in modern DFSes, our methods significantly improve the system performance. For example, in file creation, ICCG can improve the performance of directory tree operations by at least 36.4 times.

The article describes a new method for malware classification,based on a Machine Learning(ML)model architecture specifically designed for malware detection,enabling real-time and accurate malware *** an innovative feature dimensionality reduction technique called the Interpolation-based Feature Dimensionality Reduction Technique(IFDRT),the authors have significantly reduced the feature space while retaining critical information necessary for malware *** technique optimizes the model’s performance and reduces computational *** proposed method is demonstrated by applying it to the BODMAS malware dataset,which contains 57,293 malware samples and 77,142 benign samples,each with a 2381-feature *** the IFDRT method,the dataset is transformed,reducing the number of features while maintaining essential data for accurate *** evaluation results show outstanding performance,with an F1 score of 0.984 and a high accuracy of 98.5%using only two reduced *** demonstrates the method’s ability to classify malware samples accurately while minimizing processing *** method allows for improving computational efficiency by reducing the feature space,which decreases the memory and time requirements for training and *** new method’s effectiveness is confirmed by the calculations,which indicate significant improvements in malware classification accuracy and *** research results enhance existing malware detection techniques and can be applied in various cybersecurity applications,including real-timemalware detection on resource-constrained *** and scientific contribution lie in the development of the IFDRT method,which provides a robust and efficient solution for feature reduction in ML-based malware classification,paving the way for more effective and scalable cybersecurity measures.

This paper concerns ultimately bounded output-feedback control problems for networked systems with unknown nonlinear dynamics. Sensor-to-observer signal transmission is facilitated over networks that has communication *** transmissions are carried out over an unreliable communication channel. In order to enhance the utilization rate of measurement data, a buffer-aided strategy is novelly employed to store historical measurements when communication networks are inaccessible. Using the neural network technique, a novel observer-based controller is introduced to address effects of signal transmission behaviors and unknown nonlinear *** the application of stochastic analysis and Lyapunov stability, a joint framework is constructed for analyzing resultant system performance under the introduced controller. Subsequently, existence conditions for the desired output-feedback controller are delineated. The required parameters for the observerbased controller are then determined by resolving some specific matrix inequalities. Finally, a simulation example is showcased to confirm method efficacy.
