Adversarial Geometric Attacks for 3D Point Cloud Object Tracking

3D point cloud object tracking (3D PCOT) plays a vital role in applications such as autonomous driving and robotics. Adversarial attacks offer a promising approach to enhance the robustness and security of tracking models. However, existing adversarial attack methods for 3D PCOT seldom leverage the geometric structure of point clouds and often overlook the transferability of attack strategies. To address these limitations, this paper proposes an adversarial geometric attack method tailored for 3D PCOT, which includes a point perturbation attack module (non-isometric transformation) and a rotation attack module (isometric transformation). First, we introduce a curvature-aware point perturbation attack module that enhances local transformations by applying normal perturbations to critical points identified through geometric features such as curvature and entropy. Second, we design a Thompson sampling-based rotation attack module that applies subtle global rotations to the point cloud, introducing tracking errors while maintaining imperceptibility. Additionally, we design a fused loss function to iteratively optimize the point cloud within the search region, generating adversarially perturbed samples. The proposed method is evaluated on multiple 3D PCOT models and validated through black-box tracking experiments on benchmarks. For P2B, white-box attacks on KITTI reduce the success rate from 53.3% to 29.6% and precision from 68.4% to 37.1%. On NuScenes, the success rate drops from 39.0% to 27.6%, and precision from 39.9 to 26.8%. Black-box attacks show a transferability, with BAT showing a maximum 47.0% drop in success rate and 47.2% in precision on KITTI, and a maximum 22.5% and 27.0% on NuScenes. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

The text representation issue in text classification is thoroughly examined in this paper, with a focus on handling massive volumes of text data. The paper suggests the word vector weighting model based on WT-GloVe in response to the issues with excessive sparsity and subpar classification performance that classic neural network text representation models frequently confront. To find important information in the text, the model first extracts features from the text using a feature weighting approach based on word spacing and inter-class contribution. This work then presents a filtering technique that tries to enhance the training quality and relevance of word vectors in order to address the issue of irrelevant words that may be introduced by the GloVe model in word vector training. This work effectively builds a weighted word vector model that can precisely capture the value of feature words and rich semantic information by combining the feature weighting technique with irrelevant word screening. According to experimental results, the model performs better in numerous text classification assignments when compared to existing models, demonstrating its efficacy in enhancing text representation performance. The paper enriches the field of text representation by offering a fresh approach and aiding in the advancement ofNatural Language Processing technology. ©2024 IEEE.

Zn powder anodes have attracted much attention in aqueous Zn ion battery applications due to advantages such as low cost and ***,the high-activity Zn powder anode faces problems such as side reactions,hydrogen evolution,and dendrites,which limit the cycling stability of the *** this work,the high activity of Zn powder is weakened by introducing low-cost erythritol as a functional additive in the ZnSO_(4) electrolyte to improve the cycle life of the *** theoretical calculations and empirical evidence demonstrate that the incorporation of erythritol alters the coordination sphere of Zn^(2+)and modifies the local molecular architecture of the *** modification serves to diminish the reactivity of water molecules,thereby efficaciously suppressing dendrite formation and deleterious ancillary reactions on the zinc powder anode ***,erythritol functions as an interfacial cationic captor,enhancing reaction dynamics and facilitating the development of a favorable protective layer throughout the zinc plating/stripping ***,the symmetric cell paired with an erythritol-containing electrolyte manifests stable cycling performance for an extended duration of 850 h at a current density of 0.288 mA cm^(-2)and areal capacity of 0.144 mAh cm^(-2).Notably,it maintains a cycling life of 400 h even under intensified conditions (2.88 mA cm^(-2)/1.44 mA h cm^(-2)).Furthermore,the constructed Na_(2)V_(6)O_(16)·3H_(2)O full cell illustrated remarkable capacity retention of 155.8 mA h g^(-1)following 800 cycles at a high rate of 5 A g^(-1).

Early screening of diabetes retinopathy(DR)plays an important role in preventing irreversible *** research has failed to fully explore effective DR lesion information in fundus ***,traditional attention schemes have not considered the impact of lesion type differences on grading,resulting in unreasonable extraction of important lesion ***,this paper proposes a DR diagnosis scheme that integrates a multi-level patch attention generator(MPAG)and a lesion localization module(LLM).Firstly,MPAGis used to predict patches of different sizes and generate a weighted attention map based on the prediction score and the types of lesions contained in the patches,fully considering the impact of lesion type differences on grading,solving the problem that the attention maps of lesions cannot be further refined and then adapted to the final DR diagnosis ***,the LLM generates a global attention map based on ***,the weighted attention map and global attention map are weighted with the fundus map to fully explore effective DR lesion information and increase the attention of the classification network to lesion *** paper demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method through extensive experiments on the public DDR dataset,obtaining an accuracy of 0.8064.

Haptic is the modality that complements traditional multimedia,i.e.,audiovisual,to evolve the next wave of innovation at which the Internet data stream can be exchanged to enable remote skills and control *** will require ultra-low latency and ultra-high reliability to evolve the mobile experience into the era of Digital Twin and Tactile *** the 5th generation of mobile networks is not yet widely deployed,Long-Term Evolution(LTE-A)latency remains much higher than the 1 ms requirement for the Tactile Internet and therefore the Digital *** work investigates an interesting solution based on the incorporation of Software-defined networking(SDN)and Multi-access Mobile Edge Computing(MEC)technologies in an LTE-A network,to deliver future multimedia applications over the Tactile Internet while overcoming the QoS *** network scenarios were designed and simulated using Riverbed modeler and the performance was evaluated using several time-related Key Performance Indicators(KPIs)such as throughput,End-2-End(E2E)delay,and *** best scenario possible is clearly the one integrating MEC and SDN approaches,where the overall delay,jitter,and throughput for haptics-attained 2 ms,0.01 ms,and 1000 packets per *** results obtained give clear evidence that the integration of,both SDN and MEC,in LTE-A indicates performance improvement,and fulfills the standard requirements in terms of the above KPIs,for realizing a Digital Twin/Tactile Internet-based system.

Trust plays an essential role in an individual's decision-making. Traditional trust prediction models rely on pairwise correlations to infer potential relationships between users. However, in the real world, interactions between users are usually complicated rather than pairwise only. Hypergraphs offer a flexible approach to modeling these complex high-order correlations (not just pairwise connections), since hypergraphs can leverage hyperedeges to link more than two nodes. However, most hypergraph-based methods are generic and cannot be well applied to the trust prediction task. In this paper, we propose an Adaptive Hypergraph Network for Trust Prediction (AHNTP), a novel approach that improves trust prediction accuracy by using higher-order correlations. AHNTP utilizes Motif-based PageRank to capture high-order social influence information. In addition, it constructs hypergroups from both node-level and structure-level attributes to incorporate complex correlation information. Furthermore, AHNTP leverages adaptive hypergraph Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) layers and multilayer perceptrons (MLPs) to generate comprehensive user embeddings, facilitating trust relationship prediction. To enhance model generalization and robustness, we introduce a novel supervised contrastive learning loss for optimization. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of our model over the state-of-the-art approaches in terms of trust prediction accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

The electrochemical coupling of biomass oxidation and nitrogen conversion presents a potential strategy for high value-added chemicals and nitrogen ***,in this work,CuO/Co_(3)O_(4)with heterogeneous interface is successfully constructed as a bifunctional catalyst for the electrooxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid and the electroreduction of nitrate to ammonia(NH_(3)).The open-circuit potential spontaneous experiment shows that more 5-hydroxymethylfurfural molecules are adsorbed in the Helmholtz layer of the CuO/Co_(3)O_(4)composite,which certifies that the CuO/Co_(3)O_(4)heterostructure is conducive to the kinetic adsorption of *** situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy further shows that CuO/Co_(3)O_(4)has faster reaction kinetics and lower reaction potential in oxygen evolution reaction and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural electrocatalytic ***,CuO/Co_(3)O_(4)also has a good reduction effect on NO_(3)^(-).The ex-situ Raman spectroscopy shows that under the reduction potential,the metal oxide is reduced,and the generated Cu_(2)O can be used as a new active site for the reaction to promote the electrocatalytic conversion of NO_(3)^(-)to NH_(3) *** work provides valuable guidance for the synthesis of value-added chemicals by 5-hydroxymethylfurfural electrocatalytic oxidation coupled with NO_(3)^(-)while efficiently producing NH_(3).

The issue of fairness in AI arises from discriminatory practices in applications like job recommendations and risk assessments, emphasising the need for algorithms that do not discriminate based on group *** concern is also pertinent to auctions, commonly used for resource allocation, which necessitate fairness *** study examines auctions with groups distinguished by specific attributes, seeking to (1) define a fairness notion that ensures equitable treatment for all, (2) identify mechanisms that adhere to this fairness while preserving incentive compatibility, and (3) explore the balance between fairness and seller’s *** introduce two fairness notions-group fairness and individual fairness-and propose two corresponding auction mechanisms: the Group Probability Mechanism, which meets group fairness and incentive criteria, and the Group Score Mechanism, which also encompasses individual *** experiments, we validate these mechanisms’ effectiveness in promoting fairness and examine their implications for seller revenue. © 2024 The Authors.

Speech emotion recognition(SER)uses acoustic analysis to find features for emotion recognition and examines variations in voice that are caused by *** number of features acquired with acoustic analysis is extremely high,so we introduce a hybrid filter-wrapper feature selection algorithm based on an improved equilibrium optimizer for constructing an emotion recognition *** proposed algorithm implements multi-objective emotion recognition with the minimum number of selected features and maximum ***,we use the information gain and Fisher Score to sort the features extracted from ***,we employ a multi-objective ranking method to evaluate these features and assign different importance to *** with high rankings have a large probability of being ***,we propose a repair strategy to address the problem of duplicate solutions in multi-objective feature selection,which can improve the diversity of solutions and avoid falling into local *** random forest and K-nearest neighbor classifiers,four English speech emotion datasets are employed to test the proposed algorithm(MBEO)as well as other multi-objective emotion identification *** results illustrate that it performs well in inverted generational distance,hypervolume,Pareto solutions,and execution time,and MBEO is appropriate for high-dimensional English SER.

Spark workflow task scheduling with deadline and privacy constraints in hybrid cloud networks

The increasing adoption of hybrid clouds in organizations stems from their ability to bolster private cloud resources with additional public cloud capacity when required. However, scheduling distributed applications, such as workflow tasks, on hybrid cloud resources presents new and intricate challenges. A significant concern revolves around the potential exposure of private data and tasks within third-party, public cloud infrastructures, especially within sensitive domains like healthcare applications. The complexity escalates when considering the selection of resources from multiple cloud providers due to the fluctuating resource computation prices and data transmission costs. This paper presents the Spark Workflow Task Scheduling to Hybrid Cloud (SWSHC) framework, designed to schedule Spark workflows precisely while adhering to deadline and task privacy constraints within a hybrid cloud setting. Our innovative approach encompasses developing and implementing three pivotal components: deadline division, stage order optimization, and task scheduling mechanisms. We segregate the workflow deadline for each stage to bridge the gaps between stages effectively. Additionally, job prioritization is achieved using the maximum rank rule. The proposed solution considers diverse factors, including interval pricing variations, utilization of heterogeneous VM instances, intra- and inter-bandwidth considerations, and the efficient utilization of private cloud resources. Through meticulous calibration of our algorithm and comprehensive experimentation with various realistic workflows, our findings unequivocally demonstrate that SWSHC surpasses existing solutions in the current literature the cost by up to 40–70% in terms of cost efficiency and resource utilization. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2025.
