In the Beyond-5G (B5G) and sixth generation (6G), several advanced techniques are based on high-frequency millimeter-wave wireless communications. This paper proposes the design of a novel B5G and 6G wireless radio access network (RAN) architecture. This architecture aims to be a key enabling factor for significantly increasing network capacity, promoting the deployment of new services, and integrating with the evolution of the previous cellular wireless access network architecture. Furthermore, the proposed architecture is adaptable to the various characteristics of high-frequency millimeter-wave communication. It leverages on the allocation of each layer resources of the different networks for more efficient deployment.

From gigabits to terabits of data transmission, Fiber optic communication is the most perfect as well as smartest choice. This sort of communication is used in the transmission of voice, video, images, and data over great distances, local area networks (LAN) or computer systems. The fiber optic communication system uses light-wave technology to transmit information over the fiber by converting electrical signals into light. Fiber optic communication has some incredible features like wide bandwidth, narrower diameter, compact size, long-distance signal transmission, low attenuation, reliability and many more. This paper analyses the fiber optic communication system, including its main advancements, and further addresses its mechanical trend towards the next era.

This work inspects the parameters that affect the conversion rate of a ramp-counter ADC and propose two small systematical changes to reduce the time needed to complete a single analog to digital conversion by use of the locality principle point of view. System full architecture is modeled and simulated by Matlab script and the results show up to 97% reduction in conversion time for an electrocardiograph record. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. UFTR: A Unified Framework for Ticket Routing

—Corporations today face increasing demands for the timely and effective delivery of customer service. This creates the need for a robust and accurate automated solution to what is formally known as the ticket routing problem. This task is to match each unresolved service incident, or âAIJticketâĂİ, to the right group of service experts. Existing studies divide the task into two independent subproblems âĂŞ initial group assignment and inter-group transfer. However, our study addresses both subproblems jointly using an end-to-end modeling approach. We first performed a preliminary analysis of half a million archived tickets to uncover relevant features. Then, we devised the UFTR, a Unified Framework for Ticket Routing using four types of features (derived from tickets, groups, and their interactions). In our experiments, we implemented two ranking models with the UFTR. Our models outperform baselines on three routing metrics. Furthermore, a post-hoc analysis reveals that this superior performance can largely be attributed to the features that capture the associations between ticket assignment and group assignment. In short, our results demonstrate that the UFTR is a superior solution to the ticket routing problem because it takes into account previously unexploited interrelationships between the group assignment and group transfer problems. In today's technology-driven world, most millennials are tech-savvy. They have neither the time nor the interest in reading textbooks, newspapers or journals. They would like to immediately get instant answers and clarifications for all their doubts and questions. On many occasions, we are unable to find the exact word or meaning which we are searching for. So, if we have a clear, concise summary of a piece of literature, and we could understand what it contains with just a glimpse, we would be able to save a lot of time. This paper dwells about utilizing Natural Language Processing (NLP) to summarize a given text/textbook/paper. The state-of-the-art technology in this field has been demonstrated by Google's Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT), one of the latest developments in NLP. BERT is believed to understand English better than other models because of its underlying bidirectional architecture. The present proposal is to use BERT as a sentence similarity extractor. By applying the TextRank algorithm, the sentences holding the most important information are extracted. This comes under the domain of extractive summarization. Abstractive summarization is much talked about, but since Google BERT is not built for generating text, we are utilizing it in a different way to achieve the requirement. This paper intends to discuss the use of BERT for the gen-next kids which will save time and initiate further interest for researchers in developing new programs continuously in the future.

Statement of problem: The advent of computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) has necessitated the acquisition of digital scans. However, there are limitations and problems with acquiring accurate 3-dimensional (3D) casts from edentulous patients, especially in the presence of saliva. Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to develop a novel approach for obtaining 3D casts of edentulous arches by using 2-dimensional (2D) images as an alternative to traditional 3D scanners with and without light detection and ranging (LiDAR). Material and methods: This study comprised 6 groups, each consisting of 10 specimens. For the control group, 3D casts were generated by scanning edentulous mandibular molds using a dental laboratory scanner. Experimental groups included photogrammetry with and without LiDAR under various conditions (Groups PG360, PG120, LPG120, PG360S, LPG120S). For Groups PG120, LPG120, and LPG120S, a custom-made manikin was used. In all photogrammetry groups, images of each mold were captured with a mobile phone (iPhone 14 Pro Max). The casts from the experimental groups were superimposed onto those from the control group using the Blender Foundation software program (Version 3.6.1). The mean distances were calculated and statistically analyzed using 1-way ANOVA followed by the post hoc Tukey test (α=.05). Results: The mean distances between the experimental groups and the control group varied significantly. The PG360 and PG120 groups showed a statistically significant difference from the control group (P<.001, 95% CI), with mean distances of 1.54 ±0.31 mm and 4.54 ±1.65 mm, respectively. The LPG120S group, which combined photogrammetry with LiDAR in the presence of artificial saliva, achieved a mean distance of 2.03 ±0.46 mm, which was not significantly different from the control group (P=.501, 95% CI). The inclusion of practical activities to train critical thinking skills is very relevant in the case of engineering subjects. In particular, it becomes a key element in the context of cybersecurity, as our case is. Therefore, this paper analyses a gambling experience in a cybersecurity subject within a computer engineering degree, in order to assess whether the spaced learning methodology contributes to the improvement of learning. The gamification experience is carried out through a Flag Capture Competition (CTF) among the enrolled students in the course. The use of the platform has also been evaluated in an exploratory way.

We study the properties of double white dwarf (DWD) mergers by performing hydrodynamic simulations using the new and improved adaptive mesh refinement code Octo-Tiger. We follow the orbital evolution of DWD systems of mass ratio q = 0.7 for tens of orbits until and after the merger to investigate them as a possible origin for R Coronae Borealis (RCB) type stars. We reproduce previous results, finding that during the merger, the helium WD donor star is tidally disrupted within 20-80 minutes since the beginning of the simulation onto the accretor carbon-oxygen WD, creating a high temperature shell around the accretor. We investigate the possible helium burning in this shell and the merged object’s general structure. Specifically, we are interested in the amount of oxygen-16 dredged-up from the accretor to the hot shell and the amount of oxygen-18 produced. This is critical as the discovery of very low oxygen-16 to oxygen-18 ratios in RCB stars pointed out the merger scenario as a favorable explanation for their origin. A small amount of hydrogen in the donor may help keep the oxygen-16 to oxygen-18 ratios within observational bounds, even if moderate dredge-up from the accretor occurs. In addition, we perform a resolution study to reconcile the difference found in the amount of oxygen-16 dredge-up between smoothed-particle hydrodynamics and grid-based simulations. © 2024, CC BY.

In aid of delivering quality Information Technology Education in the Philippines and to upscale the quality of ITE in the country, organizations, and other universities have participated in extra-curricular and academic activities. The study aimed at determining the associated relationships among six hundred competitors and mentors in a skills competition using the APRIORI Algorithm. The CRISP-DM Model and Python programming language were utilized in the study. Accordingly, there were thirteen (13) predicted rules that will allow competing institutions to carefully study before joining the IT Skills Olympics Competition, as such, the rules set can guide each competing school to design a program for their competing teams and select category of the competition to compete in the future. The researchers recommend further empirical analysis using the dataset by employing other machine learning techniques and algorithms.

Transfer Learning approach for grading of Diabetic Retinopathy

There has been a wide interest in applying Deep Learning (DL) algorithms for automated binary and multi class classification of colour fundus images affected with Diabetic Retinopathy (DR). These algorithms have shown high sensitivity and specificity for detecting DR in non-clinical setup. Transfer learning has been successfully tested in many medical imaging applications like skin cancer detection, pulmonary nodule detection, Alzheimer's disease etc. This paper experiments with the different DL architectures such as VGG19, InceptionV3, ResNet50, MobileNet and NASNet for automated DR classification (binary and multi class) on Messidor dataset. The dataset is publicly available, and comprises of 1200 retinal fundus images. The images belong to four different classes of DR namely, normal (class 0), mild (class 1), moderate (class 2) and severe (class 3), graded based on the severity level of DR. In our experiment, we have enhanced the quality of input images by applying algorithms like CLAHE (Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalisation) algorithm and Powerlaw transformation as pre-processing techniques, which work on the small image patches with high accuracy, contrast limiting and image sharpening. Hyper parameter tuning on pretrained InceptionV3 architecture, resulted in enhancing the accuracy of the model. Both binary and multi class results were analysed considering inter class (one class with another class) accuracies. We achieved an accuracy of 78% between class 0 and class 1, the accuracy between class 0 and class 2 further reduced to 69%, while class 1 and class 2 showed an accuracy of 61%. Moreover, the interclass class accuracy between class 1 and class 3 was 62%, class 2 and class 3 further reduced to 49%. The accuracy further diminished between class 0 and class 3 to 32%. These experiments suggest that the pretrained models provided better results in classifying normal and mild, but they were not that much efficient in classifying moderate-severe and
