This paper reviews three main aspects of authentication protocols of Internet of Things (IoT): classifications and limitations, current trends, and opportunities. First, we explore the significance of IoT authentication protocols in ensuring secure communication and the protection of transmitted and received data, focusing on the classifications and associated limitations. Second, we discuss the latest developments and trends, such as using blockchain technology and machine learning to enhance authentication protocols. Third, we highlight the future opportunities, including the development of human-centric authentication designs and improved platform interoperability. At the end of this paper, we provided some insights gained for the new researcher, offering analyses of the trends and challenges in this field, giving recommendations for improving IoT authentication protocols, and emphasizing the need for further research and cooperation to develop advanced security solutions. © 2016 IEEE.

Leveraging recent developments in natural language processing (NLP), we constructed a prediction model using corporate financial annual reports to forecast the stock volatility indicator Beta (β), by analyzing risk discussions. The predicted Beta values were used to construct investment portfolios, whose market performance was then evaluated. Our research demonstrates that the Hierarchical Transformer-based model effectively captures complex risk information from annual reports, leading to improved returns in portfolio simulations. Our motivation arises from the need to better understand and process long, unstructured financial texts like annual reports, which contain crucial yet nuanced risk factors. By utilizing the hierarchical model, we aim to overcome traditional models’ limitations in handling such long documents, thereby improving the model’s understanding of both sentence-level and document-level contexts. The results highlight the potential of deep learning, particularly hierarchical models, in financial text prediction, and provide a novel perspective on asset management strategies. Compared to the S&P 500 benchmark, portfolios constructed using the predicted Beta values from our model achieved an average return increase of 21% over the same period. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

This article proposes a technique to create a pothole detection system that can operate both during the day and at night. This model was developed using the real-time object identification YOLO (You Only Look Once) technique. The potholes are located using a pre-trained model with YOLO v5. In its creation, the PyTorch framework is utilized. The first YOLO model created using the PyTorch framework is YOLOv5, which is a lot more user-friendly and lightweight. In a manner similar to real-time object detection systems, the proposed method displays potholes in real time and emphasizes them with boundary boxes for accurate identification. The accuracy achieved with this method is 97% during the day and 92% at night which is found to be satisfactory.

Due to numerous deaths, colon cancer treatment and diagnosis are viewed as societal and financial challenges. The most severe reason for death worldwide is colorectal cancer. The classification of colon cancer tissues through images is presented in this paper as a multifaceted task. Classifying an illness at a premature stage increases its chances of existence, as late detection can be mortal which results in metastasis and a poor prognosis. The microscopic examination and classification of infected colon tissue sample images is a complex task. Also, the failure to manually detect the abnormality in the tissue by a pathologist might increase the severity of the disease. With the aid of intelligent machines, and automated diagnosis the classification of tissues from images can be done in much less time. These algorithms can learn by analyzing the patterns in the images and support the pathologist in completing the task with greater accuracy. In this research article, we proposed a tuned machine learning model, with the application of five machine learning techniques (K-Nearest Neighbor, Decision Trees, Random Forest, Categorical Boosting, and Gaussian Naive Bayes) for accurately classifying histopathological colon cancer tissues images of National Center for Tumor diseases Bank. The results demonstrate that the Categorical Boosting model has the best performance and is the most viable approach (accuracy: 0.9067, F1-Score: 0.9053, specificity: 0.9739, and sensitivity: 0.9757). © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Innovative technology solutions have been developed in response to the growing need for effective and customized client contact on e-commerce platforms. This work introduces an intelligent chatbot system that uses machine learning and text mining techniques to improve user satisfaction and answer customer concerns. Advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) models have been trained on large datasets, allowing for precise user intent interpretation and pertinent product recommendations. A strong recommendation engine is included into the system architecture to aid in decision-making, ultimately enhancing the customer experience by providing individualized, real-time help. The study also highlights the significance of data privacy by using privacy-preserving techniques to safeguard user data. The system’s scalability and performance benefits are highlighted through thorough comparisons with current models. By showcasing the useful uses of machine learning and text mining in enhancing customer contact and service delivery, this study makes a substantial contribution to the development of AI-driven solutions in e-commerce.

The surging popularity of online movie databases has created a challenge for viewers: choosing a film from a massive library can be overwhelming. In this paper, it proposes to design a new hybrid movie recommendation powered by machine learning techniques as a solution to improve user experience. Among those techniques, two are combined into this paper: content-based filtering, using the real features of a movie such as genre and a director, and collaborative filtering, which uses the rating provided by users. This hybrid approach thus improves the intrinsic weaknesses that reside in both these methods individually. On the other hand, content-based filtering tends to reduce exploration to movies of the exact type one is doing well at, whereas, inversely, collaborative filtering settings often mean that a user will be exposed only to films within his or her already-recognized taste profile. It is expected that the proposed hybrid system will solve both problems by balancing this line between exploring familiar cinematic territory and making new recommendations based on both user preferences and the entire collective intelligence of the user base. The approach would aim to enrich user satisfaction by facilitating the selection of movies and providing a richer and more diversified movie-viewing experience.

A key task in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) is determining semantic similarity between text sentences. Sentence pair modeling, Textual similarity and language modeling are few important tasks in NLP. Traditional machine learning algorithms require an enormous quantity of training data, but it is a timeconsuming process. Pre-trained models can be modified for a variety of downstream applications since they use methods for generically learning the characteristics of neural network topologies and language representations. Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers- BERT & GPT are the popular architectures in NLP which enable to use minimal fine-tuning effort to produce effective results. In this work a fine-tuned BERT model that is suitable for semantic sentence similarity which predicts the entailment, neutral and contradictory categories of sentence pairs is presented. The fine-tuning feature promotes the training phase of model whichis widely effective across different types of semantic similarity models. The performance analysis of our system shows that the fine-tuned model reduces the number of neurons in the neural network there by reducing storage and time spent in expensive training task to create deep learning model. © 2023 IEEE.

The basis of this project is to investigate whether the YOLO, an object detection algorithm where 'You Only Look Once' constitutes the name, could be applied to develop FMCG management; together with the management of FMCG, it becomes the gateway to increasing retail precision, efficiency, and agility. Under real-time processing, the system detects and counts FMCG products on retail shelves with an accuracy rate of 92.5%. This accuracy ensures that the optimum stock levels are maintained and there will be no discrepancies. The system processes video feeds at 0.08 seconds per frame, thus allowing inventory data to be updated in real-time to enable quick, data-driven decisions. YOLO's flexibility ensures consistent performance across different store layouts and product types. This system integrates with other retail management tools and allows integrating inventory data in the real time. This means that it would be made available with invaluable insights which would prevent stock depletion while helping to curtail costs. This project takes YOLO ahead of just being a game changer in the FMCG inventory management while operating to reduce expenses and customer satisfaction due to product availability.

The goal of this project is to draw a deeper understanding of the subjective nature behind online product reviews, largely by examining a large dataset received from Amazon that contains numerous star ratings and comments. Since there is such a massive amount of data on the Amazon platform, it was perfect for the analysis. Our methodology is platform-agnostic and can be easily extended to other comparable datasets from other web platforms with comparable guarantees in achieving wide applicability. Our primary motivation is improving the dependability of online shopping. Since product reviews are currently widely used by many consumers as guides in making decisions to buy products, such reviews ought to be fair representations of the actual dependability and quality of the products. The goal of our effort is to identify patterns in the language and ratings of such reviews that would directly reflect the real customer sentiment and also the reliability of the product. Our approach has yielded already a rate of about 92%, which shows it has the potential greatly to raise the legitimacy of online reviews. We'd like to make our customers feel more confident and better equipped with information to make better and safer purchases on a website like Amazon and others. In the final analysis, we strive to make online shopping for our customers worldwide safer and more trustworthy.

For clinical analysis or medical intrusion, imaging technology is a potent tool for producing visual images of a body's inside. However, several existing methods include restricted access to high-quality and diverse datasets, overfitting, a lack of interpretability, high computational costs, varying medical imaging data, and ethical issues concerning patient privacy, consent, and bias. To overcome these issues, the effectiveness of generative adversarial networks in denoising medical imaging (CT/MRI images) is proposed. The input CT images are first gathered and preprocessed to reduce undesired noise using Altered Phase Preserving Dynamic Range Compression (APPDRC). The General Adversarial Network (GAN) is then given these preprocessed images to cope with the noisy areas of CT/MRI while also complying with maintaining image structures such as boundary details while preventing over-smoothing, and the weight parameters for the GAN are optimized using the Golden Eagle Optimization (GEO) technique. General Adversarial Network (GAN) has piqued the interest of academics studying medical image-denoising mechanisms and developing sophisticated medical image-denoising algorithms based on deep learning. In light of reducing the difficulty in feature learning and improving final diagnosis accuracy, data preprocessing is necessary and crucial in gan-based medical image denoising methods. This work focuses on GAN-based effective denoising approaches in CT/MRI. The potential challenges and research objectives are in the context of data preprocessing in medical image denoising. Because of how CT/MRI images are acquired, it was observed that noise in CT/MRI data follows the distribution. Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) for denoising medical imaging, mainly CT and MRI images, have yielded promising results of 99% accuracy. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.
