Decoupling the nonthermal effect of current by electrically assisted crystal plasticity modeling of Ni-based single crystal superalloys

The electrically assisted(EA)deformation process has received considerable attention in recent years,ac-companied by research on current-induced deformation ***,there are still challenges in eliminating thermal effects,which have prevented a comprehensive understanding of the underlying current-induced *** for a single crystal(SC)in research provides advantages in decou-pling the nonthermal effect of electric current at smaller scales and eliminating the complex interactions that exist in polycrystalline ***,the innovation of this work lies in decoupling the non-thermal effect of electric current and conducting a comprehensive analysis of anisotropic deformation and mechanisms within a Ni-based SC with different crystallographic axes and various current directions dur-ing electrically assisted tensile simulation.A significant tension axis direction in the SC during EA tension was induced by the combination of a higher current direction factor(|cosθ|)and a dimensionless factor for the current density(|J^(α)/J_(0)^(α)|)along the[100]*** stress drop within the SC due to the nonthermal effect of electric current generally increased with increasing current *** was attributed to the increased dislocation density differences and decreased *** increased stress anisotropy of the SC at a current direction of 45°was attributed to fewer activated(111)slip systems and the pinning effect of more dislocations within these *** study advances our understanding of the thermal and nonthermal effects of electric current and offers valuable insights for the informed application of EA deformations in industrial and aerospace settings with SC superalloys.

Effect of Deformation Temperatures on Microstructure of AQ80 Magnesium Alloy under Repeated Upsetting-Extrusion

A new repeated upsetting-extrusion (RUE) process was proposed to improve the microstructure and the mechanical properties of Mg alloys. The effects of deformation temperature on the microstructure and microhardness of RUEed AQ80 Mg alloy were studied. The results showed that Mg alloy is subjected to sufficient corner shear deformation, upsetting deformation, and extrusion deformation, resulting in a large and uniformly distributed effective strain after RUE deformation. The microstructure is refined to an average grain size of 2.1 μm by the continuous dynamic recrystallization (CDRX) mechanism at 250 °C. As the temperature increases to 300 °C, the discontinuous dynamic recrystallization (DDRX) mechanism is activated and the average grain size is refined to 1.6 µm by the combined effect of CDRX and DDRX. In comparison to their parent grains, the orientations of the CDRXed grains show a clearly preferred orientation, but those of the DDRXed grains are completely different. At 350 °C, {10-12} extension twins appear in the microstructure, and the twinning-induced recrystallization (TDRX) mechanism plays an important role in grain refinement. With the two strengthening mechanisms of fine-grained strengthening and dislocation strengthening, the microhardness of the 250 °C sample is greatly improved, with an increase of about 35.1% compared to the initial sample.

Double quantum images encryption scheme based on chaotic system

This paper explores a double quantum images representation(DNEQR)model that allows for simultaneous storage of two digital images in a quantum superposition ***,a new type of two-dimensional hyperchaotic system based on sine and logistic maps is investigated,offering a wider parameter space and better chaotic behavior compared to the sine and logistic *** on the DNEQR model and the hyperchaotic system,a double quantum images encryption algorithm is ***,two classical plaintext images are transformed into quantum states using the DNEQR ***,the proposed hyperchaotic system is employed to iteratively generate pseudo-random *** chaotic sequences are utilized to perform pixel value and position operations on the quantum image,resulting in changes to both pixel values and ***,the ciphertext image can be obtained by qubit-level diffusion using two XOR operations between the position-permutated image and the pseudo-random *** corresponding quantum circuits are also *** results demonstrate that the proposed scheme ensures the security of the images during transmission,improves the encryption efficiency,and enhances anti-interference and anti-attack capabilities.

With the extremely rapid growth of data scale, feature reduction in communities is gradually gaining attention. Community detection methods based on deep learning can discover deep network information and complex relationships, and better handle high-dimensional data. In this paper, we apply deep learning to community detection by using a deep sparse autoencoder to reduce the dimension of the input matrix of the network graph and extract data features from it, and continuously reduce the reconstruction error until the optimal solution is found to achieve the classification of communities. The community results obtained from K-means clustering using adjacency matrix directly, K-means clustering using the similarity matrix, K-means clustering using the feature matrix after dimensionality reduction by the autoencoder, and K-means clustering using the feature matrix after dimensionality reduction by the sparse autoencoder are compared. Experiments on Strike, Football and Karate network datasets were conducted to test the community detection results under the above four methods, and the detection results were analyzed using three evaluation metrics, such as NMI. In addition to hop count threshold, there are parameters such as decay factors that have an impact on the community detection results, so control variate method is used to explore effect on experiments when the parameters take various values. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Preparation of high-performance phosphate glasses and their applications in all-solid-state electrochromic devices

In this paper, phosphate glasses with different Li+ concentrations (45.5+x)LiO1/2-3.25AlO3/2-(51.25-x)PO5/2 (x = 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 11, and 12.5) were prepared by melt quenching metho,and the effects of Li+ concentration on the structure, chemical composition, optical and ionic conductivity of phosphate glasses were studied. The results demonstrate that the optical and ionic conductive of phosphate glasses can be modulated through microstructural alternations induced by varying concentrations of Li+ concentration. When x = 7.5, the light transmittance of the prepared phosphate glass is as high as 95 % in the visible region, and the ionic conductivity is 10−5 S/cm at room temperature. In addition, this paper abandons the traditional method of constructing all-solid-state electrochromic devices (ECDs) using soda-lime glass as the substrate. Instead, it employs pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technology, using phosphate glass as the electrolyte, to deposit tungsten trioxide (WO3)/indium tin oxide (ITO) films and nickel monoxide (NiO)/ITO films on either side, respectively, thereby fabricating an all-solid-state ECD without a conventional glass substrate. This ECD exhibits excellent electrochromic performance: The optical modulation amplitude (ΔT) is 61.14 %;the transmittance in the bleached state reaches 86 %;after 10,000 cycles, ΔT remains stable at approximately 54.2 %. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

Face Detection Based on Improved Multi-task Cascaded Convolutional Neural Networks

With the development of deep learning and computer vision, face detection has achieved rapid progress owing. Face detection has several application domains, including identity authentication, security protection, media, and entertainment. Although multi-task cascaded convolutional neural networks (MTCNN) have high accuracy and robustness, the model has the disadvantages of large parameters and computational overhead in the real scene due to the complexity of the real scene and the constraints of hardware facilities. Therefore, the development of an improved network model is crucial. This paper improves the MTCNN model by reducing the number of parameters and the computational overhead and using better model parameters to locate the key points of the face. This model improves the accuracy and robustness of the face age estimation. The WiderFace and CelebA datasets are used for training. The final face detection accuracy reaches 98.7% while simultaneously reducing the number of model parameters to 70% under the same conditions. This model meets the application needs of modern society for face detection and demonstrates the efficiency and accuracy of the improved network model. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). Decentralized Anonymous Payment Systems (DAP), often known as cryptocurrencies, stand out as some of the most innovative and successful applications on the blockchain. These systems have garnered significant attention in the financial industry due to their highly secure and reliable features. Regrettably, the DAP system can be exploited to fund illegal activities such as drug dealing and terrorism. Therefore, governments are increasingly worried about the illicit use of DAP systems, which poses a critical threat to their security. This paper proposes Privacy and Compliance in Regulated Anonymous Payment System Based on Blockchain (PCRAP), which provides government supervision and enforces regulations over transactions without sacrificing the essential idea of the blockchain, that is, without surrendering transaction privacy or anonymity of the participants. The key characteristic of the proposed scheme is using a ring signature and stealth address to ensure the anonymity of both the sender and receiver of the transaction. Moreover, a Merkle Tree is used to guarantee government supervision and enforce regulations. Our proposed scheme satisfies most of the stringent security requirements and complies with the standards of secure payment systems. Additionally, while our work supports government regulations and supervision, it guarantees unconditional anonymity for users. Furthermore, the performance analysis demonstrates that our suggested scheme still remains applicable and effective even when achieving complete anonymity. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Lithium and manganese-rich layered oxides(LMROs)have attracted extensive attention and are promis-ing cathode materials for next-generation lithium ion batteries due to their high capacities and high energy ***,LMRO cathode suffers from severe capacity and voltage fading originating from irreversible surface oxygen ***,we propose a facile redox couple strategy by intro-ducing nitroxyl radicals species to regulate the surface anionic redox reaction of LMRO ***-tial electrochemical mass spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analyses demonstrate that during charge process,the peroxide ion O22-on the surface gen-erated from the oxidation of lattice O2-could be reduced back to stable O2-by redox couple in time,thus avoiding oxygen evolution and structure degradation,as well as enhancing bulk oxygen redox *** enhanced LMRO electrode delivers a high capacity of 220.3 mAh g-1 at 1 *** excellent cycling stability with a capacity retention of 94.4％is achieved after 500 cycles,as well as a suppressed voltage decay with only 1.12 mV per cycle.

Microbial-driven ectopic uranium extraction with net electrical energy production

The extraction of uranium (U) from U-bearing wastewater is of paramount importance for mitigating negative environmental impacts and recovering U resources. Microbial reduction of soluble hexavalent uranium (U(VI)) to insoluble tetravalent uranium (U(IV)) holds immense potential for this purpose, but its practical application has been impeded by the challenges associated with managing U-bacterial mixtures and the biotoxicity of U. To address these challenges, we present a novel spontaneous microbial electrochemical (SMEC) method that spatially decoupled the microbial oxidation reaction and the U(VI) reduction reaction. Our results demonstrated stable and efficient U extraction with net electrical energy production, which was achieved with both synthetic and real wastewater. U(VI) removal occurred via diffusion-controlled U(VI)-to-U(IV) reduction-precipitation at the cathode, and the UIVO_(2) deposited on the surface of the cathode contributed to the stability and durability of the abiotic U(VI) reduction. Metagenomic sequencing revealed the formation of efficient electroactive communities on the anodic biofilm and enrichment of the key functional genes and metabolic pathways involved in electron transfer, energy metabolism, the TCA cycle, and acetate metabolism, which indicated the ectopic reduction of U(VI) at the cathode. Our study represents a significant advancement in the cost-effective recovery of U from U(VI)-bearing wastewater and may open a new avenue for sustainable uranium extraction.
