Acoustofluidics is a term describing the class of phenomena in which mechanical or acoustic vibrations induce a deformation or a flow in a *** deficiencies in our understanding of these phenomena remain to be addressed,with respect to the fundamental theoretical framework as well as in numerous *** this regard,the frequency of external forcing is a key *** to the low cost,substantial magnitude,and versatility associated with acoustofluidic phenomena at audible frequencies,studies of these phenomena in the audible range have emerged with increasing amount in recent years and have attracted considerable ***,compared with studies focusing on the ultrasonic frequency domain,critical features and information specific to audible acoustofluidics remain dispersed across many independent publications,and a systematic integration of the literature on this topic is ***,this review summarizes the basic theory and methods for generating vibrations in the audible range,presents various applications thereof in biology,chemistry,and other fields,and pro-vides a high-level overview of the current status of the topic to motivate developing interesting proposals for further research in this field of study.

Graphene quantum dots as sulfiphilic and lithiophilic mediator toward high stability and durable life lithium-sulfur batteries

The development of lithium-sulfur(Li-S) battery as one of the most attractive energy storage systems among lithium metal batteries is seriously hindered by low sulfur utilization, poor cycle stability and uneven redeposition of Li anode. It is necessary to propose strategies to address the problems as well as improve the electrochemical performance. One of the effective solutions is to improve the sulfiphilicity of sulfur cathode and the lithiophilicity of the Li anode. Herein, we reported that a synergistic functional separator(graphene quantum dots(GQDs)-polyacrylonitrile(PAN) @polypropylene(PP) separator)improved the electrochemical activity of sulfur cathode as well as the stability of Li anode. GQDs induced uniform Li^(+)nucleation and deposition, which slowed down the passivation of Li anode and avoided shortcircuit. Further, three-dimensional network constructed by electrospinning nanofibers and the polar functional groups of GQDs could both effectively inhibit the shuttle of LiPSs and improve the sulfur utilization. The stability of Li-S battery was improved by the synergistic effect. In addition, GQDs and electrospinning nanofibers protector increased lifetime of separators. Benefiting from the unique design strategy, Li//Li symmetric battery with GQDs-PAN@PP separators exhibited stably cycling for over 600 h. More importantly, the Li-S full batteries based GQDs-PAN@PP separators enabled high stability and desirable sulfur electrochemistry, including high reversibility of 558.09 mA h g^(-1)for 200 cycles and durable life with a low fading rate of 0.075% per cycle after 500 cycles at 0.5 C. Moreover, an impressive areal capacity of 3.23 mA h cm^(-2)was maintained under high sulfur loading of 5.10 mg cm^(-2). This work provides a new insight for modification separator to improve the electrochemical performance of Li-S/Li metal batteries.

In order to address the issue of excessive resource consumption due to frequent context switching when running a large number of compute-intensive tasks in high-load scenarios on Linux. The paper proposes a scheduling algorithm that utilizes eBPF programs to extract fine-grained data such as process memory usage, execution time, read/write rates, etc. This data is then used to construct a dataset, and an XGBoost algorithm model is employed to predict the future resource consumption of processes. Simultaneously, based on the characteristics of binary classification and multi-classification tasks in the XGBoost algorithm, tasks are assigned different scheduling priorities according to CPU utilization rates. Tasks of corresponding types are then executed based on CPU status before the priority scheduling algorithm is *** comparisons reveal that under similar conditions, reducing the overhead of context switching results in a 1.03% improvement in overall task execution time and enhances CPU running efficiency. Consequently, it is concluded that this improved Linux priority scheduling method based on XGBoost can enhance execution efficiency when running numerous compute-intensive tasks in high-load environments. © 2024 IEEE.

Addressing the issue that most current Knowledge Graph-based recommendation algorithms primarily focus on feature extraction from either the user or the item side, leading to suboptimal recommendation performance, a bipartite recommendation algorithm of knowledge graph and graph convolution network (BKGCN) is proposed. First, a neighborhood aggregation approach captures the higher-order relationships between each layer of the entity network, providing an initial description of the entities and browsing records in the user, project, and knowledge graphs. Next, by utilizing both the user and item sides to extract features, a knowledge-aware attention network based on users and items computes the internal information of triples. Finally, the neighborhood information obtained through the attention network from both the user and item sides is aggregated. The interaction probability between users and items is calculated using the inner product and normalization operations of the vectors. Utilizing two widely accessible datasets, namely Music *** and Book-Crossing, comprehensive evaluations are undertaken through click-through rate prediction and Top-K recommendation tests, substantiating the effectiveness of the BKGCN algorithm. In comparison to the six foundational algorithms, BKGCN exhibits an enhancement of 1.4% in AUC and 0.3% in F1 over the best-performing baseline model on the *** dataset. As for the Book-Crossing dataset, there is a notable improvement of 3.7% in AUC and 2.2% in F1, respectively. The experimental outcomes indicate that the algorithm demonstrates excellent performance in terms of recommendation effectiveness. © 2024 IEEE.

Within the electronic design automation(EDA) domain, artificial intelligence(AI)-driven solutions have emerged as formidable tools, yet they typically augment rather than redefine existing methodologies. These solutions often repurpose deep learning models from other domains, such as vision, text, and graph analytics, applying them to circuit design without tailoring to the unique complexities of electronic circuits. Such an “AI4EDA” approach falls short of achieving a holistic design synthesis and understanding,overlooking the intricate interplay of electrical, logical, and physical facets of circuit data. This study argues for a paradigm shift from AI4EDA towards AI-rooted EDA from the ground up, integrating AI at the core of the design process. Pivotal to this vision is the development of a multimodal circuit representation learning technique, poised to provide a comprehensive understanding by harmonizing and extracting insights from varied data sources, such as functional specifications, register-transfer level(RTL) designs, circuit netlists,and physical layouts. We champion the creation of large circuit models(LCMs) that are inherently multimodal, crafted to decode and express the rich semantics and structures of circuit data, thus fostering more resilient, efficient, and inventive design methodologies. Embracing this AI-rooted philosophy, we foresee a trajectory that transcends the current innovation plateau in EDA, igniting a profound “shift-left” in electronic design methodology. The envisioned advancements herald not just an evolution of existing EDA tools but a revolution, giving rise to novel instruments of design-tools that promise to radically enhance design productivity and inaugurate a new epoch where the optimization of circuit performance, power, and area(PPA) is achieved not incrementally, but through leaps that redefine the benchmarks of electronic systems' capabilities.

In the realm of medical diagnostics, particularly in differential diagnosis, where differentiating between illnesses or ailments with comparable symptoms is essential, deep learning has gained importance. Recent developments in deep learning have demonstrated considerable promise for revolutionizing medical diagnostics by using the ability of artificial intelligence (AI) to accurately interpret radiological images. We examine the most cutting-edge deep learning techniques currently being utilized for the differential diagnosis of tuberculosis, pneumonia, and COVID-19 in this in-depth review. The study presents an in-depth critical review of several SOTA (state-of-the-art) studies used for differential diagnosis of different respiratory abnormalities like TB, Pneumonia, and COVID-19. In addition, an overview of various approaches, datasets employed in each method, various diagnosis tests, used assessment measures, and obtained performance is summarized and comprehensively compared to assist future research. MotionUVRNN: A Motion Capture Recurrent Neural Network for Wind Field Forecast Correction via U and V Components Modeling

Wind field forecasting is crucial for human activities, but numerical weather prediction still has room to improve accuracy. In this paper, we formalize wind field forecast correction as a spatiotemporal sequence prediction task and propose MotionUVRNN, a recurrent neural network model suitable for wind field correction. The model consists of three elements: a feature decoupling module, an encoder, and a corrector. The feature decoupling module decouples the wind field into U-Wind (Wind component in x/longitude-direction) feature, V-Wind (Wind component in y/latitude direction) feature, and spatiotemporal feature. The encoder unifiedly models the motion trend and transient variation of the wind field. A novel long short-term memory dynamic capture unit (RS-LSTM) is proposed as the core part of the encoder to capture the different dynamic patterns of U-Wind and V-Wind. The corrector extracts and integrates multi-scale wind field information to capture regional features. By correcting the 3-12 hour wind field forecasts from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF;EC for short), the proposed model reduced the wind speed prediction error by 53.37% to 46.52%, and lowered the wind direction error by 21.99% to 13.26%. Moreover, this model surpasses the existing leading spatiotemporal sequence prediction models in wind field correction. © (2024) International Association of Engineers. All rights reserved.

Transparent and trustworthy interpretation of COVID-19 features in chest X-rays using explainable AI

The potential of AI-based disease prediction models for assessing COVID-19 patients outperforms conventional methods. However, their black-box nature has limited their applicability. This study explores the approach for COVID-19 identification by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods with Deep Neural Networks (DNNs), such as EfficientNet and DenseNet, applied for medical imaging. To address the black-box challenge, the study incorporates eXplainable AI (XAI) techniques, including LIME, Grad-CAM, and a novel variant of Grad-CAM++, termed "Modified Grad-CAM++ ". The modification aims to enhance explanations for COVID-19 predictions, improving the interpretability and transparency of the model’s decision-making process. Collaborating with expert radiologists, the study validates the Modified Grad-CAM++ using a separate dataset of radiologist-validated chest X-ray (CXR) images. The Integrated Uncertainty Calculation (IUC) metric is introduced as an evaluation measure for the Modified Grad-CAM++. Remarkably, both EfficientNet and DenseNet achieve high diagnostic precision, with accuracy rates of 98% and 97%, respectively. The integration of XAI algorithms enhances the interpretability and transparency of predictions, ensuring clinical relevance and validity. Tumor microenvironment(TME),as the“soil”of tumor growth and metastasis,exhibits significant differences from normal physiological ***,how to manipulate the distinctions to achieve the accurate therapy of primary and metastatic tumors is still a ***,an innovative nanoreactor(AH@MBTF)is developed to utilize the apparent differences(copper concentration and H_(2)O_(2)level)between tumor cells and normal cells to eliminate primary tumor based on H_(2)O_(2)-dependent photothermal-chemodynamic therapy and suppress metastatic tumor through copper *** nanoreactor is constructed using functionalized MSN incorporating benzoyl thiourea(BTU),triphenylphosphine(TPP),and folic acid(FA),while being co-loaded with horseradish peroxidase(HRP)and its substrate *** therapy,the BTU moieties on AH@MBTF could capture excessive copper(highly correlated with tumor metastasis),presenting exceptional anti-metastasis ***,the complexation between BTU and copper triggers the formation of cuprous ions,which further react with H_(2)O_(2)to generate cytotoxic hydroxyl radical(•OH),inhibiting tumor growth via che-modynamic ***,the stepwise targeting of FA and TPP guides AH@MBTF to accurately accu-mulate in tumor mitochondria,containing abnormally high levels of H_(2)O_(2).As a catalyst,HRP mediates the oxidation reaction between ABTS and H_(2)O_(2)to yield activated ABTS•^(+).Upon 808 nm laser irradiation,the activated ABTS•^(+)performs tumor-specific photothermal therapy,achieving the ablation of primary tumor by raising the tissue ***,this intelligent nanoreactor possesses profound potential in inhib-iting tumor progression and metastasis.
