Waste collection is an important part of waste management *** costs and carbon emissions can be greatly reduced by proper vehicle ***,each vehicle can work again after achieving its capacity limit and unloading the *** this,an energy-efficient multi-trip vehicle routing model is established for municipal solid waste collection,which incorporates practical factors like the limited capacity,maximum working hours,and multiple trips of each *** both economy and environment,fixed costs,fuel costs,and carbon emission costs are minimized *** solve the formulated model effectively,contribution-based adaptive particle swarm optimization is *** strategies named greedy learning,multi-operator learning,exploring learning,and exploiting learning are specifically designed with their own searching *** assessing the contribution of each learning strategy during the process of evolution,an appropriate one is selected and assigned to each individual adaptively to improve the searching efficiency of the ***,an improved local search operator is performed on the trips with the largest number of waste sites so that both the exploiting ability and the convergence accuracy of the algorithm are *** of the proposed algorithm is tested on ten waste collection instances,which include one real-world case derived from the Green Ring Company of Jiangbei New District,Nanjing,China,and nine synthetic instances with increasing scales generated from the commonly-used capacitated vehicle routing problem benchmark *** with five state-of-the-art algorithms show that the proposed algorithm can obtain a solution with a higher accuracy for the constructed model.

Cyber Physical Social Intelligence (CPSI) integrates the social intelligence and cyber-physical systems, enabling machines to better interact and respond to human social behaviors. Under CPSI, the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) has given rise to an increasing number of latency-sensitive services. Edge computing, as a distributed computing paradigm, enhances data processing capabilities, reduces data transmission latency, and minimizes bandwidth consumption. However, due to the limited resources of edge servers, striking a balance between service latency and deployment costs remains a highly challenging issue in the process of service deployment. In this paper, we propose a heterogeneous edge service deployment method for CPSI in IoV. Firstly, considering the heterogeneity of IoV services and edge servers, communication model, computational model, and heterogeneous service deployment cost model are constructed. Secondly, to maximize service deployment efficiency and minimize communication latency, a distance and workload-based edge server cluster division method is proposed. Subsequently, heterogeneous service deployment is performed in different clusters based on service category prioritization and minimal deployment quantity prioritization principles. Furthermore, an Analytic hierarchy process-based Heterogeneous edge Service dePloyment algorithm for CPSI in IoV, named AHSP, has been designed to determine optimal service deployment strategies. Mitigating Out-of-Entity Errors in Named Entity Recognition: A Sentence-Level Strategy

Many previous models of named entity recognition (NER) suffer from the problem of Out-of-Entity (OOE), i.e., the tokens in the entity mentions of the test samples have not appeared in the training samples, which hinders the achievement of satisfactory performance. To improve OOE-NER performance, in this paper, we propose a new framework, namely S+NER, which fully leverages sentence-level information. Our S+NER achieves better OOE-NER performance mainly due to the following two particular designs. 1) It first exploits the pre-trained language model’s capability of understanding the target entity’s sentence-level context with a template set. 2) Then, it refines the sentence-level representation based on the positive and negative templates, through a contrastive learning strategy and template pooling method, to obtain better NER results. Our extensive experiments on five benchmark datasets have demonstrated that, our S+NER outperforms some state-of-the-art OOE-NER models. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

When some application scenarios need to use semantic segmentation technology, like automatic driving, the primary concern comes to real-time performance rather than extremely high segmentation accuracy. To achieve a good trade-off between speed and accuracy, two-branch architecture has been proposed in recent years. It treats spatial information and semantics information separately which allows the module to be composed of two networks both not heavy. However, the process of fusing features with two different scales becomes a performance bottleneck for many nowaday two-branch models. In this research, we design a new fusion mechanism for two-branch architecture which is guided by attention computation. To be precise, we use the Dual-Guided Attention (DGA) module we proposed to replace some multi-scale transformations with the calculation of attention which means we only use several attention layers of near linear complexity to achieve performance comparable to frequently-used multi-layer fusion. To ensure that our module can be effective, we use Residual U-blocks (RSU) to build one of the two branches in our networks which aims to obtain better multi-scale features. Extensive experiments on Cityscapes and CamVid dataset show the effectiveness of our method. On Cityscapes, our light version network without pretrain weight can achieve 71.1% mIoU at 163 FPS on a single Nvidia RTX 3070 using full resolution images(1024×2048pix). And the large version can achieve 77.9% mIoU with a speed of 43 FPS which still reaches the real-time criterion. On Support Relations Inference and Scene Hierarchy Graph Construction from Point Cloud in Clustered Environments

Over the years, scene understanding has attracted a growing interest in computer vision, providing the semantic and physical scene information necessary for robots to complete some particular tasks autonomously. In 3D scenes, rich spatial geometric and topological information are often ignored by RGB-based approaches for scene understanding. In this study, we develop a bottom-up approach for scene understanding that infers support relations between objects from a point cloud. Our approach utilizes the spatial topology information of the plane pairs in the scene, consisting of three major steps. 1) Detection of pairwise spatial configuration: dividing primitive pairs into local support connection and local inner connection;2) primitive classification: a combinatorial optimization method applied to classify primitives;and 3) support relations inference and hierarchy graph construction: bottom-up support relations inference and scene hierarchy graph construction containing primitive level and object level. Through experiments, we demonstrate that the algorithm achieves excellent performance in primitive classification and support relations inference. Additionally, we show that the scene hierarchy graph contains rich geometric and topological information of objects, and it possesses great scalability for scene understanding. In the fields of computer vision and natural language processing, cross-modal retrieval is of great importance that cannot be ignored. In existing multi-granularity alignment methods, significant progress has been made by globally aligning images and sentences or locally aligning regions and words. However, most of these methods rely on attention mechanisms, which may be affected by noise and cannot balance the differences between modalities, resulting in suboptimal image-text alignment. In addition, training with attention mechanisms consumes a lot of computational resources, and the retrieval process is time-consuming. To address these challenges, we develop a novel multigranularity image-text alignment model, which we call DFVLM. First, we independently train the intra-modal encoder and cross-modal encoder to reduce interference between different modal encoders and better learn intra-modal and inter-modal information. Then, we propose a joint strategy to combine the intra-modal and inter-modal information to better capture the information between image and text. In addition, we introduce a hard negative pair-based method to train the performance of the intra-modal multi-granularity encoder without using attention mechanisms. Unlike existing methods, We treat image and text retrieval as a two-way process and delve into the intrinsic connections between the two matrices. We propose a cross-validation method to optimize the retrieval result based on common image-to-text alignment scenarios in daily life, i.e., during the image-to-text retrieval process, a text-to-image reverse verification is performed on the retrieved corresponding text. Through extensive qualitative experiments and analysis, our approach performs well on both Flickr30K and MSCOCO datasets and also significantly reduces the time required for testing. © 2024 SPIE.

Hypergraph neural networks can model more flexible connectivity relationships, are used to model higher-order interactions, and have produced strong results in many real-world applications. However, the currently existing hypergraph neural networks need more exploration in capturing the global positional information of nodes in hypergraphs. Although there have been many explorations of the problem in graph neural networks, extending these approaches to hypergraphs is fraught with challenges. The major challenge is that hyperedges in hypergraphs are the other dimensional element of the incidence structure, have more flexible definitions than edges in graphs, and require more attention when learning global positional information. We propose a novel position-aware hypergraph message-passing neural network framework to address the above challenges. Specifically, we propose a global positional embedding learning approach that can separately model global positional information for nodes and hyperedges. At the same time, we also optimize the learning of local structures with hyperedges. Experiments on several publicly available benchmark datasets find that our proposed method outperforms many state-of-the-art methods.

Aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA) has drawn more and more attention because of its extensive applications. However, towards the sentence carried with more than one aspect, most existing works generate an aspect-specific sentence representation for each aspect term to predict sentiment polarity, which neglects the sentiment relationship among aspect terms. Besides, most current ABSA methods focus on sentences containing only one aspect term or multiple aspect terms with the same sentiment polarity, which makes ABSA degenerate into sentence-level sentiment analysis. In this paper, to deal with this problem, we construct a heterogeneous graph to model inter-aspect relationships and aspect-context relationships simultaneously and propose a novel Composition-based Heterogeneous Graph Multi-channel Attention Network (CHGMAN) to encode the constructed heterogeneous graph. Meanwhile, we conduct extensive experiments on three datasets: MAMS-ATSA, Rest14, and Laptop14, experimental results show the effectiveness of our method. © 2022 Proceedings - International Conference on Computational Linguistics, COLING. This paper aims to develop a holistic evaluation method for piano sound quality to assist in purchasing decisions. Unlike previous studies that focused on the effect of piano performance techniques on sound quality, this study evaluates the inherent sound quality of different pianos. To derive quality evaluation systems, the study uses subjective questionnaires based on a piano sound quality dataset. The method selects the optimal piano classification models by comparing the fine-tuning results of different pre-training models of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). To improve the interpretability of the models, the study applies Equivalent Rectangular Bandwidth (ERB) analysis. The results reveal that musically trained individuals are better able to distinguish between the sound quality differences of different pianos. The best fine-tuned CNN pre-trained backbone achieves a high accuracy of 98.3% as the piano classifier. However, the dataset is limited, and the audio is sliced to increase its quantity, resulting in a lack of diversity and balance, so we use focal loss to reduce the impact of data imbalance. To optimize the method, the dataset will be expanded, or few-shot learning techniques will be employed in future research. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
