Vehicle trajectory data plays a pivotal role in simulation testing for autonomous driving. Hence, there exist well-established trajectory generation methods employing deep generative models to generate trajectories mapping the distribution of the original dataset, thereby augmenting existing trajectory datasets. However, these methods typically rely on large datasets gathered by governmental or organizational entities for central training, which may pose data privacy, security, and accessibility issues. Therefore, it is challenging to generate high-quality traffic trajectory data while preserving privacy which involves a delicate balance between these two objectives. To deal with this challenge, we introduce Federated Learning into the diffusion model and propose a Federated Learning-based diffusion model (FedDifftraj) to generate traffic trajectory data. Unlike existing central training methods, FedDifftraj aggregates model parameters uploaded by different vehicles and then updates a global model. Additionally, there is a substantial communication overhead incurred during the training of the federated diffusion model. Therefore, we quantize the local diffusion model before uploading it to the parameter server. Through extensive simulations on real-world datasets, FedDifftraj can generate high-quality traffic trajectory data that is consistent with the results of the central training while preserving privacy and reducing communication overhead by 93.74% when utilizing 8-bit quantization. © 2024 IEEE.

The accelerated development of the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) has significantly enhanced the computational efficiency and processing capabilities of Wireless Consumer Application Networks (WCAN). Despite these advancements, the performance of WCAN remains constrained by the inherent limitations in computational capacity and energy resources of wireless devices. To address these issues, this paper proposes a wireless powered-mobile edge computing system with Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) assistance for WCAN, where wireless consumer devices can not only harvest energy from access point, but also offload computing tasks to edge server with the help of RIS. Aiming to maximize the system computation rate, a non-convex problem is developed and a block optimization with deep reinforcement learning (BO-DRL) scheme is proposed. First, the RIS phase shifts in the Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) stage and offloading stage are optimized using closed-form solutions and the gradient ascent algorithm, respectively. Subsequently, the offloading strategies are optimized using deep reinforcement learning, and a convex optimization algorithm is employed to obtain the time allocation for the WPT and offloading stages. Numerical results illustrate that the BO-DRL algorithm greatly enhances computation rate by 20% compared to without RIS. © 2025 IEEE.

Metamorphic testing (MT) is an effective software quality assurance method;it uses metamorphic relations (MRs) to examine the inputs and outputs of multiple test cases. Metamorphic exploration (ME) and metamorphic robustness testing (MRT) are advanced additions to the MT literature: ME can enable better understanding, and thus testing, of systems;MRT can test software robustness without an oracle. Metamorphic relation patterns (MRPs) are abstractions or templates for multiple concrete MRs. The performance of MT/ME/MRT relies on the quality of MRs, but the identification of MRs is often a manual task requiring some knowledge of MRPs, creative thinking and a good understanding of the system. In other words, the effective identification of MRs remains a challenge and requires further study. In this paper, we propose formal definitions to describe the relationship between multiple MRPs in order to classify them. We also identify a series of new MRPs and propose a new MT framework that can guide the identification and application of MRPs. Based on our definitions, we present the notion of MRP family trees and further propose two trees by classifying previously published MRPs and our proposed MRPs, in order to make it easier for users to find their target MRPs for reuse, reference or inference. Finally, we report on case studies using the MRPs and our framework to guide the identification of MRs for MT/ME/MRT and successfully detect multiple violations. © 2025 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

Building a domain-specific compiler for emerging processors with a reusable approach

High-performance computing and deep learning domains have been motivating the design of domain-specific *** these processors can provide promising computation capability,they are notorious for exotic programming *** improve programming productivity and fully exploit the performance potential of these processors,domain-specific compilers(DSCs) have been ***,building DSCs for emerging processors requires tremendous engineering efforts because the commonly used compilation stack is difficult to be *** to the advent of multilevel intermediate representation(MLIR),DSC developers can leverage reusable infrastructure to extend their customized functionalities without rebuilding the entire compilation *** this paper,we further demonstrate the effectiveness of MLIR by extending its reusable infrastructure to embrace a heterogeneous many-core processor(Sunway processor).In particular,we design a new Sunway dialect and corresponding backend for the Sunway processor,fully exploiting its architectural advantage and hiding its programming *** show the ease of building a DSC,we leverage the Sunway dialect and existing MLIR dialects to build a stencil compiler for the Sunway *** experimental results show that our stencil compiler,built with a reusable approach,can even perform better than state-of-the-art stencil compilers.

Video question answering (VideoQA) aims to answer natural language questions according to the given videos. Although existing models perform well in the factoid VideoQA task, they still face challenges in deep video understanding (DVU) task, which focuses on story videos. Compared to factoid videos, the most significant feature of story videos is storylines, which are composed of complex interactions and long-range evolvement of core story topics including characters, actions and locations. Understanding these topics requires models to possess DVU capability. However, existing DVU datasets rarely organize questions according to these story topics, making them difficult to comprehensively assess VideoQA models' DVU capability of complex storylines. Additionally, the question quantity and video length of these dataset are limited by high labor costs of handcrafted dataset building method. In this paper, we devise a large language model based multi-agent collaboration framework, StoryMind, to automatically generate a new large-scale DVU dataset. The dataset, FriendsQA, derived from the renowned sitcom Friends with an average episode length of 1,358 seconds, contains 44.6K questions evenly distributed across 14 fine-grained topics. In Agile software delivery, complexity factors have become an important part that has been linked to the success of software projects, especially with highly structured plan-driven approaches. Although there are a range of known techniques, practices and structures aimed at improving communication, team, and organisational cohesion, there remains a poor understanding of how organisations and teams can effectively deal with complexity in Agile software delivery. While theoretical and management frameworks of complexity exist, nevertheless, little is known about the important complexity factors at play in the planning, design, and creation of Agile software at the various levels of organisational structures. To better understand complexity and how it may impact Agile delivery across organisational structures, processes and roles, a systematic literature review was undertaken to identify the known complexity factors, to identify gaps in our knowledge, and to identify the approaches that have been undertaken to date to address complexity. This review contributes a fresh perspective to the literature on complexity in Agile software delivery and forwards our conversation on complexity in IT projects, and their effective management. The review was structured around Remington and Pollack’s (2016) model identifying different types of complexity. The review’s findings indicate that complexities result from aspects in functional teams, organizational structures, roles, Agile tasks, and practice-related issues that were identified in distributed Agile projects. We conclude that there may remain a lack of understanding in practice of the complexity factors that are at play in an Agile software delivery context. These findings are relevant to researchers and practitioners seeking to identify areas of focus for addressing complexity in Agile software delivery. Copyright © 2023 Taniela Ramesh Stephen.

A novel image encryption algorithm based on new one-dimensional chaos and DNA coding

This paper introduces a new one-dimensional chaotic system and a new image encryption algorithm. Firstly, the new chaotic system is analyzed. The bifurcation diagram and Lyapunov exponent show that the system has strong chaotic characteristics and is suitable for the field of image encryption. The chaotic sequence generated by the system is used in image encryption, scrambled according to its sequence value, and several sequences required for DNA coding operation are generated. The encrypted image is obtained by encoding, decoding, and diffusion operation according to the sequence. The initial values and parameters of system are generated by Hash algorithm based on plain image, so it has strong sensitivity and can effectively resist attacks such as selective plaintext attack. Experimental results show that the algorithm has high security and robustness, and can resist common attacks. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

In recent years, with the rapid development of deep learning and computer vision technology, the forgery technology of images and videos has become increasingly mature, posing new challenges to information security and social stability. Behind the re-evolution of deepfake lies the rampant proliferation of fake content, which is used for election tampering, identity fraud, fraud, spreading fake news, and so on. To address these challenges, researchers are constantly exploring and developing image-based deepfake detection techniques, which aim to effectively identify and prevent deepfake content in images and videos. This article will introduce the current development status of deepfake detection technology, present its principles and methods in detail, and look ahead to its future development directions. © 2024 IEEE.
