Fast Iterative Learning Control for Delay Systems: A Predictive Approach

In a previous paper (Li et al. (2005)), an iterative learning control (ILC) law, proposed for linear continuous systems with a single time delay, has the ability to drive the output tracking error to zero only after one learning iteration. The convergence result is quite attractive; however, it requires unavailable system state. The aim of this paper is to provide a predictive approach to not only reach this result, but also extend it to linear continuous systems with multiple time delays. To this end, that unavailable system state is predicted and its corresponding equivalent form is obtained, based on which new ILC laws with fully available information are determined, ensuring the zero output tracking only after one learning iteration. The numerical simulation shows that this kind of ILC design is available, and furthermore the extension of the results from systems with a single time delay to those with multiple time delays is feasible.

This article gives a capsule view of research on rough set theory and applications ongoing at universities and laboratories in China. Included in this capsule view of rough set research is a brief description of the following things: Chinese research groups on rough set with their URLs for web pages, names of principal researchers (supervisors), numbers of graduate students, and topics being investigated. Statistical summaries showing the growth in the research on rough set theory and application in China are included. In addition, an introduction summarizing the research interests of Chinese researchers is included in this article. This paper addresses algebraic criteria for consensus problem of continuous-time networked systems, in which both fixed and switching topology cases are considered. A special eigenvector omega of Laplacian matrix is first constructed and correlated with the connectivity of digraph. And then, based on this tool, some necessary and/or sufficient algebraic conditions are proposed, which can directly determine whether the consensus problem can be solved or not. Furthermore, it is clearly shown that only the agents corresponding to the positive elements of omega contribute to the group decision value and decide the collective behavior of all agents. Particularly for the fixed topology case, not only the role of each agent is exactly measured by the value of the corresponding element of omega but also the group decision value can be calculated by such a vector and the initial states of all agents.

After the modification of the fuzzy ART neural network operations, An algorithm based on fuzzy ART neural network which can deal with online-learning and recognition of the known and unknown faces at the same time is designed and realized. The simulation experiment results show an online maximum recognition rate is 86.3％ and offline recognition rates are nearly 100％ when the proper network parameters are selected. 400 images of 40 persons in the publicly available AT&T face database are used for simulation experiment.

In this paper, the robust H_(infinity) control problem is considered for uncertain neutral systems with discrete and distributed time delays. By using new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals, some sufficient conditions on H_(infinity) robust performance analysis are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Based on these conditions the dynamical output feedback controller are designed. Numerical examples are included to illustrate the proposed method.

This paper considers the flocking of a class of multi-agent systems with switching topology in a noisy environment. We have shown that although the information is contaminated by variable noises, all agents can form and maintain flocking if the gradient of the environment is bounded and the interaction graphs are jointly connected. The proposed results reveal that the discussed multi-agent system with switching topology can maintain the flocking in the considered noisy environment.

This paper deals with iterative learning control (ILC) design for a class of multi-input multi-output (MIMO), linear time-varying (LTV) continuous systems with input delays. A particular ILC scheme is considered, and is shown to be convergent from the two-dimensional (2D) system point of view. Furthermore, if certain selections of learning gains are met, then this scheme converges in an ordered way, and achieves uniform convergence over the whole learning time interval only after finite iterations. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can provide different effective updating laws to improve the performance of the control systems.

In this paper an automatic and effective method was proposed for mass segmentation in mammography. Based on the facts that mass edges are continuous and closed curves consisted of points which have larger gradient transformation, a plane fitting method and a dynamic programming technique were applied. The regions of interest (ROIs) used in this study were extracted from DDSM. The preliminary experimental results show that the segmentation algorithm performs well for various types of masses. After aspect-oriented programming (AOP) methodology was proposed, the authors should work out how could object-oriented and aspect-oriented programming cooperate with each other in modeling phase. In order to model software based on object-oriented programming (OOP) and aspect-oriented programming (AOP), this paper extended the unified modeling language (UML) by importing aspect, pointcut, advice and some other concepts used in aspect-oriented programming. The authors proposed a way to use case diagrams recognized and identified part of crossing cut concerns first. Crossing cut concerns are divided into two categories: function level and code level. Class diagram depicted static state for crossing cut concerns using new stereotype-aspect and new relation type: crosscut. Sequence diagrams depicted dynamic state for crossing cut concerns using a two-dimension way. Two dimensions are object and aspect. The extended UML could build model for both aspect and object.

Recently SQL Injection Attack (SIA) has become a major threat to Web applications. Via carefully crafted user input, attackers can expose or manipulate the back-end database of a Web application. This paper proposes the construction and outlines the design of a static analysis framework (called SAFELI) for identifying SIA vulnerabilities at compile time. SAFELI statically inspects MSIL bytecode of an *** Web application, using symbolic execution. At each hotspot that submits SQL query, a hybrid constraint solver is used to find out the corresponding user input that could lead to breach of information security. Once completed, SAFELI has the future potential to discover more delicate SQL injection attacks than black-box Web security inspection tools. © 2007 IEEE.
