The synchronization of multi-weighted complex dynamical networks with fixed and switching topologies is respectively investigated in this paper. Firstly, by putting to use Lyapunov functional approach and some inequality techniques, we establish a synchronization criterion for the multi-weighted complex dynamical network with fixed topology. In addition, the similar methods can be applied to get some sufficient conditions for synchronization of multi-weighted complex dynamical networks with switching topology. Finally, a numerical example is provided to show the correctness of the acquired synchronization criteria.

Cognitive Computing (CC) is a contemporary field of fundamental intelligence theories and general AI technologies triggered by the transdisciplinary development in intelligence, computer, brain, knowledge, cognitive, robotic, and cybernetic sciences for engineering implementations. This paper presents a summary of the plenary panel (Part II) on the theoretical foundations of CI/CC and recent breakthroughs in AI engineering reported in the 20th IEEE International ICCI*CC Conference (ICCI*CC'21). The latest advances in CI and CC towards general AI are presented by twenty-two distinguished panelists. Strategic AI engineering applications in CI, CC, and cognitive systems are elaborated for abstract intelligence, cognitive robots, autonomous systems, intelligent vehicles, and safety-and-mission-critical systems.

In the Internet of Things, services can be provisioned using centralized architectures, where central entities acquire, process, and provide information. Alternatively, distributed architectures, where entities at the edge of the network exchange information and collaborate with each other in a dynamic way, can also be used. In order to understand the applicability and viability of this distributed approach, it is necessary to know its advantages and disadvantages not only in terms of security and privacy challenges. The purpose of this paper is to show that IoT three-layer security logic architecture and the distributed approach has various challenges that need to be solved, but also various interesting properties and strengths. It also focuses on security issues such as privacy protection and intrusion detection, etc. We also propose a high-level security management scheme based on blockchain for different IoT devices in the full life cycle. It also summarizes the main causes of the deficiencies and security problems in existing research work.

In recent years, the development of the Internet of Things technology has been very rapid. However, with the explosive growth of IoT devices, the challenges facing the IoT environment are becoming more and more serious. How to ensure the security of the IoT becomes a key issue. The primary purpose of IoT security is to protect private data and ensure the security of IoT users, infrastructure, data and devices. This paper reviews the threat challenges and IoT security models at each level of the Internet of Things in recent years and discusses some of the past and future solutions. At first, the IoT security threats are systematically introduced from the perspectives of physics, network and data. In addition, the mainstream IoT security model is introduced. Then we introduce solutions to IoT threats from three perspectives, including IoT access control, intrusion detection and distribution methods. In the end, the paper introduces the current IoT security model has not formed a unified standard and expresses a future expectation for the development of future security model.

A Dynamic Neural Network for Solving Time-varying Shortest Path with Hop-constraint

This paper proposes a dynamic neural network (DNN) to solve the time-varying shortest path problem with hop-constraint (HC-TSPP). The purpose of HC-TSPP is to find a path with the shortest transmission time and the restricted number of arcs. The proposed DNN is a novel neural network based on dynamic neurons. All neurons on DNN are computing in parallel, and each dynamic neuron is composed of seven parts: input, wave receiver, filter, status memorizer, wave generator, wave sender, and output. Wave is the carrier of neuron communication, and each wave is composed of three parts. The shortest path report is based on the first wave that reaches the destination node and satisfies the hop constraint. The example and experimental results based on the Internet dataset show that the proposed algorithm can arrive at the global optimal solution and outperform the existing algorithm (viz. Dijkstra algorithm).

Making a high dimensional (e.g., 100k-dim) feature for hyperspectral image classification seems not a good idea because it will bring difficulties on consequent training, computation, and storage. In this paper, we study the performance of a high-dimensional feature by texture feature. The texture feature based on multi-local binary pattern descriptor, can achieve significant improvements over both its tradition version and the one we proposed in our previous work. We also make the high-dimensional feature practical, we employ the PCA method for dimension reduction and support vector machine for hyperspectral image classification. The two real hyperspectral image datasets are employed. Our experimental results with real hyperspectral images indicate that the high dimensional feature can enhance the classification accuracy than some low dimensional. © The Authors, published by EDP sciences, 2018.

An Efficient Certificateless Aggregate Signature Scheme

Aggregate signature can aggregate n signatures on n messages from n signers into a single signature that convinces any verifier that n signers sign the n messages, respectively. In this paper, by combining certificateless public key cryptography and aggregate signatures, we propose an efficient certificateless aggregate signature scheme and prove its security. The new scheme is proved secure against the two representative types adversaries in certificateless aggregate signature under the assumption that computational Diffie-Hellman problem is hard. Furthermore, from the comparison of the computation cost of the new scheme with some existing certificateless aggregate signature schemes in group sum computation, scalar multiplication computation, Hash computation and abilinear pairings computation, it concludes that the new scheme reduces the computation cost in scalar multiplication computation in half and maintains the same in the other computation costs.

Homophobia and discrimination towards men who have sex with men (MSM) make the mental health of this community a severe concern. The prevalence of mobile social apps for MSM provides a new channel to study their mental health issues. However, the correlation between the psychological states of MSM and their behaviors on social apps are still uninvestigated. In this paper, we conduct a case study of 103 MSM in China to explore whether the User Generated Content, Profile, Mobility information of MSM on social apps correlate with their depression, loneliness, anxiety and stress level. The analysis results indicate that the mental health disorder level of MSM is correlated with the emotion expressed in posts, whether the user has filled in self-description blank, the social relationship among online friends, frequency of visiting popular gays-meeting places. Our findings imply future opportunities in early psychological problems detection and intervention.

Metasurfaces, the ultrathin media with extraordinary wavefront modulation ability, have shown versatile potential in manipulating waves. However, existing acoustic metasurfaces are limited by their narrow-band frequency-dependent capability, which severely hinders their real-world applications that usually require customized dispersion. To address this bottlenecking challenge, we report ultra-broadband achromatic metasurfaces that are capable of delivering arbitrary and frequency-independent wave properties by bottom-up topology optimization. We successively demonstrate three ultra-broadband functionalities, including acoustic beam steering, focusing and levitation, featuring record-breaking relative bandwidths of 93.3%, 120% and 118.9%, respectively. All metasurface elements show novel asymmetric geometries containing multiple scatters, curved air channels and local cavities. Moreover, we reveal that the inversely designed metasurfaces can support integrated internal resonances, bi-anisotropy and multiple scattering, which collectively form the mechanism underpinning the ultra-broadband customized dispersion. Our study opens new horizons for ultra-broadband high-efficiency achromatic functional devices on demand, with promising extension to the optical and elastic achromatic metamaterials. © 2020, CC BY-NC-SA.
