December 2019 witnessed the outbreak of a novel coronavirus, thought to have started in the Chinese city of Wuhan. The situation worsened owing to its quick spread across the globe, leading to a worldwide pandemic that became known as COVID-19. To suppress the pandemic, early detection of positive COVID-19 patients has become highly important. There is a lack of precise automated tool kits available for use in diagnosing medical conditions, so auxiliary diagnostic tools are in high demand. Important information about this virus can be extracted from X-ray images, which can be used in conjunction with advanced artificial intelligence. This study addresses the unavailability of physicians in remote areas, and the complex algorithm proposed in this study can find potential matches for patients in rural areas who need care. This could help to improve access to care for those who need it most. The purpose of this study is to develop a novel model that can automatically detect COVID-19 by utilizing chest X-ray images. The proposed model incorporates binary and multi-class classification and can be employed by radiologists for timely detection of the COVID-19 virus in an effective manner. © 2023 The Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers.

Audio2AB:Audio-driven collaborative generation of virtual character animation

Despite achieving remarkable performance, Federated Learning (FL) encounters two important problems, i.e., low training efficiency and limited computational resources. In this article, we propose a new FL framework, i.e., FedDUMAP, with three original contributions, to leverage the shared insensitive data on the server in addition to the distributed data in edge devices so as to efficiently train a global model. First, we propose a simple dynamic server update algorithm, which takes advantage of the shared insensitive data on the server while dynamically adjusting the update steps on the server in order to speed up the convergence and improve the accuracy. Second, we propose an adaptive optimization method with the dynamic server update algorithm to exploit the global momentum on the server and each local device for superior accuracy. Third, we develop a layer-adaptive model pruning method to carry out specific pruning operations, which is adapted to the diverse features of each layer so as to attain an excellent tradeoff between effectiveness and efficiency. Our proposed FL model, FedDUMAP, combines the three original techniques and has a significantly better performance compared with baseline approaches in terms of efficiency (up to 16.9 times faster), accuracy (up to 20.4% higher), and computational cost (up to 62.6% smaller). © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Accurately diagnosing Alzheimer's disease is essential for improving elderly ***,accurate prediction of the mini-mental state examination score also can measure cognition impairment and track the progression of Alzheimer's ***,most of the existing methods perform Alzheimer's disease diagnosis and mini-mental state examination score prediction separately and ignore the relation between these two *** address this challenging problem,we propose a novel multi-task learning method,which uses feature interaction to explore the relationship between Alzheimer's disease diagnosis and minimental state examination score *** our proposed method,features from each task branch are firstly decoupled into candidate and non-candidate parts for ***,we propose feature sharing module to obtain shared features from candidate features and return shared features to task branches,which can promote the learning of each *** validate the effectiveness of our proposed method on multiple *** Alzheimer's disease neuroimaging initiative 1 dataset,the accuracy in diagnosis task and the root mean squared error in prediction task of our proposed method is 87.86%and 2.5,*** results show that our proposed method outperforms most state-of-the-art *** proposed method enables accurate Alzheimer's disease diagnosis and mini-mental state examination score ***,it can be used as a reference for the clinical diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease,and can also help doctors and patients track disease progression in a timely manner.

Medical image anomaly detection refers to machine learning techniques to analyze and identify lesions and abnormalities in them. However, in medical images, anomaly samples are usually sparse, which can lead to supervised learning not being able to obtain sufficient training. While existing unsupervised learning is mainly based on reconstruction and generation as well as feature embedding, these methods do not take into account the problem of data type bias during domain migration and often face the problem of loose judgment boundaries. To this end, this paper proposes a novel unsupervised learning method, SyNet, based on noisy anomaly synthesis. First, the problem at domain migration is well solved by aggregating the range of features within the feature map, fusing the multiscale features at the intermediate level, and adding feature adapters. Then, anomaly samples are synthesized by adding noise in the feature space, which is more efficient and stable than generating samples in the image space. Finally, normal and abnormal data are distinguished by training the discriminator. In this paper, experiments are conducted on ISIC and brain MRI datasets, and SyNet achieves nearly 20% improvement in AUC, ACC and other metrics compared with the current mainstream methods, and also has good inference efficiency. © 2024 IEEE.

With the benefits of reducing time and workforce,automated testing has been widely used for the quality assurance of mobile applications(APPs).Compared with automated testing,manual testing can achieve higher coverage in complex interactive *** the effectiveness of manual testing is highly dependent on the user operation process(UOP)of experienced *** on the UOP,we propose an iterative Android automated testing(IAAT)method that automatically records,extracts,and integrates UOPs to guide the test logic of the tool across the complex Activity *** feedback test results can train the UOPs to achieve higher coverage in each *** extracted 50 UOPs and conducted experiments on 10 popular mobile APPs to demonstrate IAAT’s effectiveness compared with Monkey and the initial automated *** experimental results show a noticeable improvement in the IAAT compared with the test logic without human *** the 60 minutes test time,the average code coverage is improved by 13.98%to 37.83%,higher than the 27.48%of Monkey under the same conditions.

Depth model-based behavior estimation of human skeletal points is widely used in the field of behavior recognition. In order to improve the accuracy of behavior recognition, the complexity and computation of the designed network model are increasing, while the mobile platforms have limited arithmetic power and memory, and thus cannot be deployed. To solve the above problems, the AGCN network, a skeletal point-based behavior recognition model, is clipped to compress the network size so that it can support common mobile platforms;and a multi-feature co-distillation method is proposed to efficiently migrate the performance of the original network to the target network, so that the performance of the clipped lightweight network tends to be close to that of the original network. The model training, testing, visualization, and ablation experiments are completed on the NTU-RGB+D60 data set. The experimental results show that the algorithm after lightweighting (clipping network and multi-feature co-distillation), can significantly reduce the computational amount of behavior recognition. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Migrant Resettlement by Evolutionary Multiobjective Optimization

Migration has been a universal phenomenon, which brings opportunities as well as challenges for global development. As the number of migrants (e.g., refugees) increases rapidly, a key challenge faced by each country is the problem of migrant resettlement. This problem has attracted scientific research attention, from the perspective of maximizing the employment rate. Previous works mainly formulated migrant resettlement as an approximately submodular optimization problem subject to multiple matroid constraints and employed the greedy algorithm, whose performance, however, may be limited due to its greedy nature. In this article, we propose a new framework called migrant resettlement by evolutionary multiobjective optimization (MR-EMO), which reformulates migrant resettlement as a biobjective optimization problem that maximizes the expected number of employed migrants and minimizes the number of dispatched migrants simultaneously, and employs a multiobjective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA) to solve the biobjective problem. We implement MR-EMO using three MOEAs: the popular nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA-II), MOEA based on decomposition (MOEA/D) as well as the theoretically grounded global simple evolutionary multiobjective optimizer (GSEMO). To further improve the performance of MR-EMO, we propose a specific MOEA, called GSEMO using matrix-swap mutation and repair mechanism (GSEMO-SR), which has a better ability to search for feasible solutions. We prove that MR-EMO using either GSEMO or GSEMO-SR can achieve better theoretical guarantees than the previous greedy algorithm. Experimental results under the interview and coordination migration models clearly show the superiority of MR-EMO (with either NSGA-II, MOEA/D, GSEMO or GSEMO-SR) over previous algorithms, and that using GSEMO-SR leads to the best performance of MR-EMO. © 2024 IEEE.

Keyword extraction method based on complex network

Keyword extraction has a wide range of applications in the field of natural language processing. Many research results on keyword extraction at present. Among them, keyword extraction methods are based on complex networks do not require a lot of data training in advance and are simple to implement. This paper analyses and realises the application of complex network theory in the Chinese news keyword extraction task. We collected and analysed 2,061 news texts from Sina website as experimental data, and found that the number of keywords extracted affected the performance of keyword extraction method. We also compared the performance of our algorithm with other keyword extraction algorithms. The experiments verify the accuracy and effectiveness of complex networks in keyword extraction of Chinese news texts.
