Study of stability and object tracking of traffic video image for smart cities

In order to solve the problem that image information is not effectively utilized because of unclear traffic video images and random jitter between image sequences, this paper has studied how to achieve stability of traffic video images and proposed an improved Mean Shift algorithm about how to conduct object centroid registration in compensation for the deviations in space localization and on this basis, how to select kernel window width to eliminate the errors in scale positioning. This algorithm gets the tracking effect and computation analysis of improved Mean Shift from the perspective of applications;removes or relieves the impact motion has on imaging, improves the quality of the video image information obtained, automatically adjusts the size of window according to the scale changes of moving object in the image, and effectively enhances the stability and real-time of object tracking. Particle swarm optimization based on filter-based population initialization method for feature selection in classification

In classification problems, the datasets often have many unrelated or redundant features. The unrelated or redundant features may deteriorate the performance of classifier. Feature selection (FS) is an effective approach to solve this kind of problem. In the past research, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) has already been used for the FS problems, and some researchers have designed various methods to improve the PSO to efficiently solve the problems. For one thing, it has been verified that a good initial population can significantly enhance the performance of PSO and increase the convergence speed of PSO. For another, lots of traditional filter methods which can provide heuristic information about features have been proposed. However, few studies increase the performance of PSO for FS by improving its initialization method based on the filter methods. Therefore, in this paper, Relief, Information gain and Fisher score are introduced to initialize the population of PSO on FS problems. In the proposed method, for each filter method, it is first employed to evaluate and rank the features. Then, we assign a probability value to each feature according to its rank. After that, the initial population is generated based on the probabilities of each feature. Therefore, three initialization populations are separately obtained by the three filter methods. Finally, they are merged into the final initialization population. The comparative experiments are conducted on nine datasets and the PSO with proposed initialization method is compared with the PSO with other two initialization methods. The results indicate that the proposed initialization method can greatly enhance the search ability and increase the convergence speed of PSO for solving FS problems, especially large scale FS problems. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Generative adversarial networks based motion learning towards robotic calligraphy synthesis

Robot calligraphy visually reflects the motion capability of robotic *** traditional researches mainly focus on image generation and the writing of simple calligraphic strokes or characters,this article presents a generative adversarial network(GAN)-based motion learning method for robotic calligraphy synthesis(Gan2CS)that can enhance the efficiency in writing complex calligraphy words and reproducing classic calligraphy *** key technologies in the proposed approach include:(1)adopting the GAN to learn the motion parameters from the robot writing operation;(2)converting the learnt motion data into the style font and realising the transition from static calligraphy images to dynamic writing demonstration;(3)reproducing high-precision calligraphy works by synthesising the writing motion data *** this study,the motion trajectories of sample calligraphy images are firstly extracted and converted into the robot *** robot performs the writing with motion planning,and the writing motion parameters of calligraphy strokes are learnt with *** the motion data of basic strokes is synthesised based on the hierarchical process of‘stroke-radicalpart-character’.And the robot re-writes the synthesised characters whose similarity with the original calligraphy characters is *** calligraphy characters have been tested in the experiments for method validation and the results validated that the robot can actualise the robotic calligraphy synthesis of writing motion data with GAN.

Coarse-to-Fine Video Instance Segmentation With Factorized Conditional Appearance Flows

Over the past few years,the application and usage of Machine Learning(ML)techniques have increased exponentially due to continuously increasing the size of data and computing *** the popularity of ML techniques,only a few research studies have focused on the application of ML especially supervised learning techniques in Requirement Engineering(RE)activities to solve the problems that occur in RE *** authors focus on the systematic mapping of past work to investigate those studies that focused on the application of supervised learning techniques in RE activities between the period of 2002–*** authors aim to investigate the research trends,main RE activities,ML algorithms,and data sources that were studied during this ***-five research studies were selected based on our exclusion and inclusion *** results show that the scientific community used 57 *** those algorithms,researchers mostly used the five following ML algorithms in RE activities:Decision Tree,Support Vector Machine,Naïve Bayes,K-nearest neighbour Classifier,and Random *** results show that researchers used these algorithms in eight major RE *** activities are requirements analysis,failure prediction,effort estimation,quality,traceability,business rules identification,content classification,and detection of problems in requirements written in natural *** selected research studies used 32 private and 41 public data *** most popular data sources that were detected in selected studies are the Metric Data Programme from NASA,Predictor Models in software Engineering,and iTrust Electronic Health Care System.

A privacy and compliance in regulated anonymous payment system based on blockchain

Decentralized Anonymous Payment Systems (DAP), often known as cryptocurrencies, stand out as some of the most innovative and successful applications on the blockchain. These systems have garnered significant attention in the financial industry due to their highly secure and reliable features. Regrettably, the DAP system can be exploited to fund illegal activities such as drug dealing and terrorism. Therefore, governments are increasingly worried about the illicit use of DAP systems, which poses a critical threat to their security. This paper proposes Privacy and Compliance in Regulated Anonymous Payment System Based on Blockchain (PCRAP), which provides government supervision and enforces regulations over transactions without sacrificing the essential idea of the blockchain, that is, without surrendering transaction privacy or anonymity of the participants. The key characteristic of the proposed scheme is using a ring signature and stealth address to ensure the anonymity of both the sender and receiver of the transaction. Moreover, a Merkle Tree is used to guarantee government supervision and enforce regulations. Our proposed scheme satisfies most of the stringent security requirements and complies with the standards of secure payment systems. Additionally, while our work supports government regulations and supervision, it guarantees unconditional anonymity for users. Furthermore, the performance analysis demonstrates that our suggested scheme still remains applicable and effective even when achieving complete anonymity. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Classification of quantum phases is one of the most important areas of research in condensed matter *** this work,we obtain the phase diagram of one-dimensional quasiperiodic models via unsupervised ***,we choose two advanced unsupervised learning algorithms,namely,density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise(DBSCAN)and ordering points to identify the clustering structure(OPTICS),to explore the distinct phases of the Aubry–André–Harper model and the quasiperiodic p-wave *** unsupervised learning results match well with those obtained through traditional numerical ***,we assess similarity across different algorithms and find that the highest degree of similarity between the results of unsupervised learning algorithms and those of traditional algorithms exceeds 98%.Our work sheds light on applications of unsupervised learning for phase classification.

Conditional semantic textual similarity (C-STS) assesses the similarity between pairs of sentence representations under different conditions. The current method encounters the overestimation issue of positive and negative samples. Specifically, the similarity within positive samples is excessively high, while that within negative samples is excessively low. In this paper, we focus on the C-STS task and develop a conditional contrastive learning framework that constructs positive and negative samples from two perspectives, achieving the following primary objectives: (1) adaptive selection of the optimization direction for positive and negative samples to solve the over-estimation problem, (2) fully balance of the effects of hard and false negative samples. We validate the proposed method with five models based on bi-encoder and tri-encoder architectures, the results show that our proposed method achieves state-ofthe-art performance.
