A Review of Intelligent Configuration and Its Security for Complex Networks

Complex networks are becoming more complex because of the use of many components with diverse technologies. In fact, manual configuration that makes each component interoperable has breed latent danger to system security. There is still no comprehensive review of these studies and prospects for further research. According to the complexity of component configuration and difficulty of security assurance in typical complex networks, this paper systematically reviews the abstract models and formal analysis methods required for intelligent configuration of complex networks, specifically analyzes, and compares the current key technologies such as configuration semantic awareness, automatic generation of security configuration, dynamic deployment, and verification evaluation. These technologies can effectively improve the security of complex networks intelligent configuration and reduce the complexity of operation and maintenance. This paper also summarizes the mainstream construction methods of complex networks configuration and its security test environment and detection index system, which lays a theoretical foundation for the formation of the comprehensive effectiveness verification capability of configuration security. The whole lifecycle management system of configuration security process proposed in this paper provides an important technical reference for reducing the complexity of network operation and maintenance and improving network security.

Central Attention Mechanism for Convolutional Neural Networks

Model performance has been significantly enhanced by channel attention. The average pooling procedure creates skewness, lowering the performance of the network architecture. In the channel attention approach, average pooling is used to collect feature information to provide representative values. By leveraging the central limit theorem, we hypothesize that the strip-shaped average pooling operation will generate a one-dimensional tensor by considering the spatial position information of the feature map. The resulting tensor, obtained through average pooling, serves as the representative value for the features, mitigating skewness during the process. By incorporating the concept of the central limit theorem into the channel attention operation process, this study introduces a novel attention mechanism known as the"Central Attention Mechanism (CAM)." Instead of directly using average pooling to generate channel representative values, the central attention approach employs star-stripe average pooling to normalize multiple feature representative values into a single representative value. In this way, strip-shaped average pooling can be utilized to collect data and generate a one-dimensional tensor, while star-stripe average pooling can provide feature representative values based on different spatial directions. To generate channel attention for the complementary input features, the activation of the feature representation value is performed for each channel. Our attention approach is flexible and can be seamlessly incorporated into various traditional network structures. Through rigorous testing, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our attention strategy, which can be applied to a wide range of computer vision applications and outperforms previous attention techniques. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). Modeling contextual goals and detecting context conflicts from BDD-based user stories

Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) user stories are widely used in agile methods for capturing user requirements and acceptance criteria due to their simplicity and clarity. However, the concise structure of BDD-based user stories prevents capturing contextual information and connections between them, which help stakeholders understand requirements and uncover potential issues. The contextual goal models (CGMs) can provide explicit relationships between goals and contexts, but manually constructing models is effort-intensive. This paper proposes an automated approach called BUS2C to model contextual goals and detect context conflicts from BDD-based user stories. The aim is to improve requirements analysis by systematically eliciting goals and dependencies. BUS2C approach involves: (1) mapping BDD-based user story elements to CGMs, and (2) merging related models based on similarity. The context conflict detection algorithm checks if contexts associated with different goals are compatible using natural language metrics. We evaluated BUS2C approach through three experiments. First, we showed the effectiveness in merging scattered CGMs with common features. Second, we demonstrated the capability to construct CGMs from BDD-based user stories quickly, assisting modelers. Our merging method also produced models closer to manually built ones versus without merging. Third, we validated that the context conflict detection can successfully identify inconsistencies in small datasets, enhancing requirements quality. Further validation on larger datasets is needed. In conclusion, this work contributes automated techniques to systematically model and analyze contextual goals from BDD-based user stories. By providing unified goal understanding and detecting issues like conflicts, BUS2C approach aims to improve requirements analysis and support adaptive systems development. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

A Lightweight Object Detection Algorithm for Remote Sensing Images

With the continuous advancement of satellite technology, remote sensing images has been increasingly applied in fields such as urban planning, environmental monitoring, and disaster response. However, remote sensing images often feature small target sizes and complex backgrounds, posing significant computational challenges for object detection tasks. To address this issue, this paper proposes a lightweight remote sensing images object detection algorithm based on YOLOv9. The proposed algorithm incorporates the SimRMB module, which effectively reduces computational complexity while improving the efficiency and accuracy of feature extraction. Through a dynamic attention mechanism, SimRMB is capable of focusing on important regions while minimizing background interference, and by integrating residual learning and skip connections, it ensures the stability of deep networks. To further enhance detection performance, the FasterRepNCSPELAN4 module is introduced, which employs PConv operations to reduce computational load and memory usage. It also utilizes dilated convolutions and DFC attention mechanisms to strengthen feature extraction, thereby increasing the efficiency and accuracy of object detection. Additionally, this study integrates the GhostModuleV2 module, which generates core feature maps and employs lightweight operations to create redundant features, greatly reducing the computational complexity of *** results show that on the SIMD dataset, the improved YOLOv9 model has a parameter size of 167.88 MB and GFLOPs of 208.6. Compared to the baseline YOLOv9 model (parameter size: 194.57 MB, GFLOPs: 239.0), the parameter size is reduced by 13.71%, GFLOPs are reduced by 12.72%, and detection accuracy is improved by 1.4%. OCRBench: on the hidden mystery of OCR in large multimodal models

Large models have recently played a dominant role in natural language processing and multimodal vision-language learning. However, their effectiveness in text-related visual tasks remains relatively unexplored. In this paper, we conducted a comprehensive evaluation of large multimodal models, such as GPT4V and Gemini, in various text-related visual tasks including text recognition, scene text-centric visual question answering(VQA), document-oriented VQA, key information extraction(KIE), and handwritten mathematical expression recognition(HMER). To facilitate the assessment of optical character recognition(OCR) capabilities in large multimodal models, we propose OCRBench, a comprehensive evaluation benchmark. OCRBench contains 29 datasets, making it the most comprehensive OCR evaluation benchmark available. Furthermore, our study reveals both the strengths and weaknesses of these models, particularly in handling multilingual text, handwritten text, non-semantic text, and mathematical expression *** importantly, the baseline results presented in this study could provide a foundational framework for the conception and assessment of innovative strategies targeted at enhancing zero-shot multimodal *** evaluation pipeline and benchmark are available at https://***/Yuliang-Liu/Multimodal OCR.

AGCLNDA: Enhancing the Prediction of ncRNA-Drug Resistance Association Using Adaptive Graph Contrastive Learning

Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), which do not encode proteins, have been implicated in chemotherapy resistance in cancer treatment. Given the high costs and time requirements of traditional biological experiments, there is an increasing need for computational models to predict ncRNA-drug resistance associations. In this study, we introduce AGCLNDA, an adaptive contrastive learning method designed to uncover these associations. AGCLNDA begins by constructing a bipartite graph from existing ncRNA-drug resistance data. It then utilizes a light graph convolutional network (LightGCN) to learn vector representations for both ncRNAs and drugs. The method assesses resistance association scores through the inner product of these vectors. To tackle data sparsity and noise, AGCLNDA incorporates learnable augmented view generators and denoised view generators, which provide contrastive views for enhanced data augmentation. Comparative experiments demonstrate that AGCLNDA outperforms five other advanced methods. Case studies further validate AGCLNDA as an effective tool for predicting ncRNA-drug resistance associations. Time series anomaly detection is crucial in various industrial applications to identify unusual behaviors within the time series *** to the challenges associated with annotating anomaly events,time series reconstruction has become a prevalent approach for unsupervised anomaly ***,effectively learning representations and achieving accurate detection results remain challenging due to the intricate temporal patterns and dependencies in real-world time *** this paper,we propose a cross-dimension attentive feature fusion network for time series anomaly detection,referred to as ***,a series and feature mixing block is introduced to learn representations in 1D ***,a fast Fourier transform is employed to convert the time series into 2D space,providing the capability for 2D feature ***,a cross-dimension attentive feature fusion mechanism is designed that adaptively integrates features across different dimensions for anomaly *** results on real-world time series datasets demonstrate that CAFFN performs better than other competing methods in time series anomaly detection.

GazeREC-Net: Advancing Gaze Restoration in Low-Light Conditions

Gaze estimation technology is essential for applications such as human-computer interaction, augmented reality, and virtual reality. However, its accuracy is significantly compromised in low-light conditions due to degraded image quality. To address this, we developed GazeREC-Net, an innovative gaze restoration method. We simulated low-light conditions on the MPIIFaceGaze and ColumbiaGaze datasets, creating a specialized degraded dataset for training and testing our model. GazeREC-Net combines Fourier transform techniques with advanced image restoration algorithms, significantly enhancing image quality and optimizing gaze information recovery and extraction in low-light environments. Our evaluations using Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) metrics demonstrated a PSNR improvement of 7.64% and an SSIM improvement of 5.75% compared to HINet. Additionally, GazeREC-Net outperformed CFTNet and other existing gaze estimation models, including Gaze-TR, Dilated-Net, CA-Net, L2CS-Net, and MTGLS, in reducing gaze estimation error. These findings validate the effectiveness of GazeREC-Net in low-light conditions and offer new research directions for applying gaze estimation technologies in complex lighting environments. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). As a pivotal enabler of intelligent transportation system(ITS), Internet of vehicles(Io V) has aroused extensive attention from academia and industry. The exponential growth of computation-intensive, latency-sensitive,and privacy-aware vehicular applications in Io V result in the transformation from cloud computing to edge computing,which enables tasks to be offloaded to edge nodes(ENs) closer to vehicles for efficient execution. In ITS environment,however, due to dynamic and stochastic computation offloading requests, it is challenging to efficiently orchestrate offloading decisions for application requirements. How to accomplish complex computation offloading of vehicles while ensuring data privacy remains challenging. In this paper, we propose an intelligent computation offloading with privacy protection scheme, named COPP. In particular, an Advanced Encryption Standard-based encryption method is utilized to implement privacy protection. Furthermore, an online offloading scheme is proposed to find optimal offloading policies. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that COPP significantly outperforms benchmark schemes in the performance of both delay and energy consumption.
